I think the idea would be fun, though I don't know if SE should waste resources on that kind of server. In my opinion it would be a fun at first, then kind of just die down from people getting sick of lets say a LS that's only purpose is to grief everyone else on the server lol. Everquest though did have a server similar to this in a way (a lot of differences but kinda) and it turned out successful for a while, so I really wonder how it would be like.

A lot of mainstream MMOs release OWPvP servers. It's not like it's unheard of.

The colosseum would be great center for open PvP: You can pay for admission, walk in like nothing just to see everyone in the arena hacking and slashing and casting spells at each other...

While that time, the place would look empty and gradually start filling up with audience before the main event begins.

I don't think casual PvP should be rewarding but everyone should be giving a phoenix down to raise fallen PCs or else HP to the nearest crystal. Lol, mindblowing idea would be that the main even would be pre-registered PCs from different servers to battle on another. The prize would be accomplishments and trophies plus exp and anima.

Good way to add good old phoenix downs into the game so we can see those! lol

I really hope PvP is cross server, nothing I loved more then owning someone on a different server just to have them make a char on yours to tell you that you are bad.

Also, if they do GC vs GC I wonder how they are going to even the numbers, because I feel LL has very little members compared to the other GCs.

Oh lol, I didn't mean server vs server, just be able to do like a que with other servers so if enough players on your server don't want to pvp you can hopefully get into pvp stuff faster. Kinda like the new lfg thing they are doing or w/e it is.

I really want to push for this, it's probably the only thing that'll help FFXIV stand out from the rest! We all really need to keep pushing this idea like drug dealers pushing drugs down ppls throats...
