Indeed, where in that statement does it say we're currently playing on the 2.0 servers? To me that statement says they have the 2.0 code running on the new servers.

Holy crap you serious? i even quoted
Everything is to do with the CODE, not the server, or the hardware, it is the Network Code that cannot handle threading properly, like they said. So the congestion is causing the server to flood out. That is 1 reason for the server crashes. The next is bugs, which they fix'd today, that is why you had a patch, IT WAS A CODE issue.Quote:
Currently we are using the high spec servers for 2.0 to try and make this stable but the server process code is still current FFXIV code so this max limit reaches before the 2.0 server code.
ITT: Serious jimmies getting rustled over a server crash
We are not on 2.0 servers that would require an entire reboot of the system which is 2.0. That statement says they are USING 2.0 servers right now doesn't say we are playing on them retard. That's what they are going to show off at E3 the 2.0 servers and graphics engine. It's in one of Naoki letters
I love the fact that everyone who are totally against adding a few extra servers are on random servers - however those of us on Ridill are fed up with it and want this to happen. Maybe if your server was down *once again* for the 3rd time in 48 hours due to emergency maintenance you would see the bigger picture.
Maintenance happens all the time deal with it or keep crying about 9$ and quit.
The official translation doesn't clearly state we're playing on the new server hardwares right now.
How can you say something so stupid when its said. Require a reboot? ROFL its hardware, its no different than adding ram to your pc at home, or upgrading your CPU.
The server reboots all the time, ya know WHEN IT CRASHES or during maintenance, im sure we've had plenty of maintenances..
I was beginning to think this forum was getting smarter, then this thread just blew my mind.
They will increase specs over time, as hardware gets better, just like you upgrade your pc over time. The issue is the big jump from 1.0 to 2.0 is SERVER CODE which Yoshi says. I give up trying to explain it, learning the alphabet is harder than this....
Even the patch notes today have fix's that caused server crash lol
"A server crash" on top of the other 2x maintenances and the patch downtime? Hmm so that is 20 hours (assuming ~5hrs each) that the game has been down for - not to mention the random crashes / freezes / inability to login (which has been happening ever since the patch). I am speaking for Ridill here. So basically gameplay has been interrupted for pretty much 2 full days (leading upto weekend when *everyone* is online... well... lets see how that goes).
It is not just one "server crash" it is topped with the frustration of consistent interruption of gameplay.
Show me where in that statement it says "players" or subscribers are in 2.0 servers? Oh wait you can't can you? "we" as in devs you moron. Reading comprehension 101
Hahahahahahahahahahaaa...... you crack me up.... lol.....

Ok then guys, if you think Yoshi's post has nothing to do with us being on 2.0 servers now then you tell me wtf does he mean?
ALL you have to do to swap over to newer severs is changed the bloody harddrive RAID over thats it, its a CODE issue not a hardware one, jesus christ
the self entitlement is strong with this one.. Nothing is without hitches.. you have NO idea what it's like to be a developer of anything.. so just stop.. why not go outside.. and get out of the basement. The problems will pass, if you have ever played a SE MMO for longer than a few months, you would know this is par for the course.. Patch time = problems, huge desire to complete new content and general laggyness around specific quest points.. it just happens.. with time it will clear.. now breath and stop throwing a temper tantrum..
I've played casually off and on since the patch and have no issues...
I think some people think servers is like this magical force of mechanical wisdom, that requires a week to unsummon the old one, and call fourth from the skies the new hardware being that will walk into that cold server room, and so that hundreds of people can spend days upon days moving all our complex and sophisticated bytes onto the new one.
When in reality:
- Take out Hard Drive
- Walk to new Server
- Put Hard Drive in
- Happy Face
Some people probably think Computer hardware is a magical force which takes hours to work, when infact its usually just plugging something in and switching it on :D

I also don't think people understand my point...
Whether the issue lies in the servers, the code, the congestion in those problematic areas - the servers/code cannot handle the current stress which is worsened by a congested area.
The only solution I can see to this which would increase playability would be reduce that congestion. Ie. Fix the "problematic" area BEFORE making an area more popular with a merge.
But the issue, also can be related to bugs with the game, and have absolute zero result from congestion.
Take a look at the recent hotfix, it has 2 fixes for server crashes, there could be more bugs like these that are causing things, even stuff their side.
We had crashes even prior to merge, it isnt something that the merge spontaneously invented.
