Ideally I wonder if it wouldn't be better for those 1 of a kind rewards to still he discardable, but added to the Calamity Salvager. Oh well.

Thank you for offering a solution =)! Honestly if push comes to shove this isn't a terrible idea for me. I am going to try out a solution someone suggested earlier about trying to trade them in around the Doman Restoration area.

Personally... the easiest fix is if SE would just acknowledge my tickets I filed... or even if they straight up removed them from my inventory I wouldn't be hurt in the slightest.

I knew when I made this post it would definitely trigger someone, but I needed to vent. I don't help people mount farm anymore because of the risk of getting one... I honestly don't care how they solve it... I just don't want anymore mounts T_T (personally for me. I want more mounts for everyone else because I know a lot of people like more mounts...lol).

It seems like your problem would just go out of the window if you just right clicked the item and hit use, and then never thought of it again. It's not like it even is about getting a mount you don't want, as you can just choose not to ride it.

Like, what's the issue, lol? It's not like collecting the mount you got by chance means you're "collecting mounts" either. I'm not a minion collector, doesn't mean I destroy every minion.

Actually you probably can. There's a lot of game items that won't let you discard them until you use them (master recipe unlocks for example). One you use the unlockable item once, all subsequent of the same item will let you discard them.


As others have said you can put the mounts you want on your favourites, this needs no development time. Use the ones you don't have, then the discard the extras. Job done.

I just don't want the mounts. I know I could use it. and in the past in some cases I have...and I regret. I realize 100% that I am probably in a drastic minority here. Also sorry If I stop responding to everyone who posts similar to the post I am responding to. I am starting to feel like I am talking in circles at this point since I have responded to posts like this already.

I really don't want the mounts.

I would even like to release mounts. (not saying they have to do this, just saying I would like it)

Ultimately the mount whistles in my inventory I just want to be removed and I'd be happy enough with that.

Just tested this on an alt and can confirm this is true. Farmed Garuda pony twice, put it in saddlebag so it let me get a second one.

Tried to discard either of them, but it was greyed out and wouldn't let me.

So I used one of them... and then discard is now an option on the second one:

Well that is interesting. I am going to see if it's possible with a couple of the other methods suggested first. I honestly wouldn't rather use it at all so If I can avoid it I will try to. I do appreciate this though!

That's not a bug. Unique just means you can't have two of something with that tag in the same storage space. Toss one on your retainer and you can get another. You pretty much caused that yourself by not redeeming the whistle the first time you got it or not keeping it in your inventory to prevent you from automatically getting others.

You would have a legitimate ask with the double whistle to a GM if you used one and then asked if they can help you get rid of the other.

But it doesn't seem worth either the development time to code in a Discard or the potential headache with accidental Discards for the GM staff when the easiest solution is to just redeem the mount so you will be able to take advantage of the auto-reject on whistles that the game will do when it exists in your Mount Guide.

Well I finally tried this and no go... I think with that I am going to continue to file tickets to SE to remove the whistles (or literally pay money to dump them on retainers XD)

Only put the ones that fit your character in your favorites and use the random mount button.

My dude, literally just use them. You don't have to start going out of your way to collect mounts. And you don't have to use the mounts you don't want to. But just use the whistles the game gives you and move on. This seems like a pretty silly issue IMO.
