Oh and the little Bell..
I think it'd have been a nice way to support smaller streamers, but we know this is more about promoting the streamers with the bigger reaches to promote and market the game leading up to Endwalker.
But I think a nice gesture to follow would be to promote smaller streamers once the Campaign's over and give them some spotlight. Giving them a boost and helping them grow I guess could have potential longer term effects of promoting the game too.
Care to elaborate on that, please?
Not a bit fan of the collaboration either, I mean it's just like buying a recolour, only someone you might like gets your support. I'm definitely not getting it. However, I think, in that case, people would simply mute/afk and not even bother watching the streamer. Maybe this way some of them will stay and watch someone they spent 20 euros/dollars on.
I'd really like to know the reason people who barely play the game got chosen but not a single one of the 10+ streamers that stream raids almost every day for such a long time didn't.
It's really not "the biggest streamers".
MissRogueFlame is on that list, and she's hardly a big streamer. Her viewer count at any time is around 50-100 (so pretty average, and minimum for partners) and she's not exactly making a living wage off of Twitch subs, especially with her health issues and fewer streams because of it. (I see people asking for BIPOC streamers but conveniently dismissing the disabled)
Then there's EthysAsher, a great, no amazing content creator, but also has health issues that means he hasn't been able to stream much for a long time.
(If you're struggling to justify subscribing to one of the collab streamers because you think none of them 'deserve it', but do want to drop the money for the mount, I'd wholeheartedly suggest either of these two, plus Inochifantasy and Hupo)
It's quite clearly the more dedicated FFXIV streamers, rather than "the biggest", but probably limited to Twitch Partners, which require a formal application process and a minimum viewer count.
I don't know any of the streamers but of the few who have stuff on YouTube.
If anything, I'd rather support that streamer who's YT content helped me and those were mostly desperius and weskalber. But guess who aren't on the list...
Because people having the stream on mute in the background atleast means bigger viewer numbers and that means more exposure for XIV, whether or not they actively watch the stream is irrelevant because as long as they have it open in their browser it counts towards the viewer numbers.
Now you most likely have the situation that Curisu mentioned. People who only want the mount and couldn't care less about XIV streaming on twitch pick a streamer from that list, gift their 4 subs and leave again, which is completely useless for SE if their intention was to give their game more exposure because the viewer numbers drop just as fast as they increased.
Mr.Happy got it so it's not all bad. But sad day cause Work2Game didn't make the list. They should've been on it.. it's all they DO. But atleast Happy got on there.. I'd been pissed if they didn't put literally the biggest creator on there. Mr. Happy. Love him or not he literally does XIV content like everyday on Twitch and Youtube with a podcast that's been going for years. :c
Honestly, all these streamers crying over not being chosen is sad. People saying oh I have been growing my channel for x amount of time and I was not chosen etc etc, then complain at other streamers from wow being chosen instead. Ofc they will take some other streamers, to get people who don't normally play the game to see the game! People with bigger audiences again take priority due to more people watching. And those bigger streamers worked just as hard for their audience.
SE is not obligated to boost your stream just because you stream their game. It is not for them to make being a streamer a full time job for you, it's a campaign meant to reach more people and give a boost to some of their content creators which is more than other companies do. They can't just make it open free for all for every ff streamer because who knows what they will say or have said in the past etc and associate with the company. Get over yourselves, you are not entitled to a thing.
I’d rather a twitch streamer with 1 viewer have gotten that spot over Mr.Happy xD just my opinion tho but yeah i see your overall point. It just seems like they wanted the most well known faces and didn’t actually take time to look at people who deeply care about the game or who spend a majority of their time working on it. All i can say is...money talks evidently. I just hope this attention gets more money to the game and isn’t used to shill money to their other projects. Who am i kidding tho, gotta fund the flopvengers trinity games :D
Yeah, the amount of entitlement I see on Twitter is unreal. Of course, it would be great to see more streamers being included like W2G for example. But this is not charity, this is a marketing campaign and from what I read (even from some creators) it seems like they really think the bigger streamers didn't work as hard or (probably) even harder than them to get where they are at right now. Some of them even streamed/created content only for XIV for several years and we know the XIV community doesn't care much for streamers/youtube content (hence the big player base while all the CC being small). Reading people that don't even care about the XIV streaming community getting angry about this is just ridiculous.
That being said, I do hope next time they add (a lot) more streamers to the list, or maybe just let any streamer that wants to participate apply to the event, and after the application period, SE would filter the ones that meet a certain (publicly known) criteria.
that's because it wasn't chosen based on someones ethnicity, gender, and whatnot. They were picked because of their follower count. if you don't believe me then check it:

and that's just the english streams. you don't need to make everything a race issue and the fact that you're trying to make it one kinda gives off a negative impression of you. whatever though, you do you OP. Now if you excuse me i'm gonna ditch this eediat thread and go chill with my Bredrens.
I will be honest -- after watching a bit of Anniefuschia's stream yesterday, I am a bit miffed about the selections. All she relatively did was mostly AFK and do reaction videos from YouTube.
Like really? Also -- with some of the other things going on, a lot of the more present and full-time streamers for FF14 were left off the list as well.
I like the idea of the event but it was poorly executed. Every Final Fantasy Streamer should have been included in somehow. I'm happy for people that got picked but I dont understand why this couldn't done across all streamers. Have them submit a screenshot or receipt or something. Get your chocobo and there ya go. I mean they had to submit a receipt with the butterfinger campaign, why couldnt they do it like this here.
I hope they put better thought into the next event. It is so hard to established on twitch these days and this is just drowning out smaller content creators.
I don't like the ideal of giving twitch any of my money so I'll pass on this mount, would rather support a content creator directly with no middle man. but do enjoy your sweet mount everyone that feels differently!
I only know about 4 of the ones on that list (Zepla, MTQ, Meoni and Happy) and out of them, I would only even consider watching Zepla, maybe MTQ. I really enjoy MTQ’s dungeon guides on You Tube. They are among the best and easiest to understand. I used to enjoy Meoni’s YT video’s because he would make informational videos on things other than dungeons. He used to be pleasant, concise and to the point, but now he has become very arrogant...always bragging about how people have given him money, gifts or gil for this or that item. He purposely drags out videos that should only take a couple of minutes (do longer videos make more money?) and just talks nonsense. I cannot listen or watch him anymore. Happy was probably the first person I found on YT and loved his videos early on. Later he became all about raiding and seemed condescending to those who were not that type of player, so pfffftttt.
Zepla has always had a different style of videos and she is funny and has heart. I could watch her anytime. One creator that I think was seriously overlooked is WORK TO GAME. Their videos helped me in creating macros, customizing the HUD and controller guides, you know the more technical stuff that others did not cover back then. Plus they are much more relatable to the regular (non-raider) player.
I do not think SE meant for this to become a popularity contest or to purposely exclude some awesome creators. However, these views and subscriptions could equal thousands and thousands of dollars in revenue for the creators on the list. So to anyone who is whining about those who are upset about being left out, put yourselves in their shoes. Especially if you had being doing this much longer with larger followings, you have to wonder what the criteria was.
I think SE made a big boo boo in not thinking this through a little more. I could be wrong, would not be the first time. XD I just think this may cause hard feelings by many in the community against those who were chosen by some fans of those not chosen. I know I am less inclined to ever try any of those on the list that I did not already support. I don’t know, I just feel the whole thing needed more thought before execution. *shrug*
MTQ is my go-to for all of my Extreme/Savage guides. I just like the way she explains things. She tells us what we need to know, nothing more and nothing less. That's the way I like it. Meanwhile, Mr. Happy goes off on about a dozen tangents between mechanic explanations.
This event is really disappointing for content creators that work hard every day helping the community. SE screwed a lot of streamers and let them down with this.
I have no clue why the list is too short and random, but this feels like a slap from SE to the streamers that didn't get selected.
Feeling really disappointed by collab.
A lot of streamer were left out even big ones too! Would really like to know the reasoning behind the choosing.
I feel ACT is one of the reason many were left out if so that’s messed up SE/twitch should at least draw a line in the sand so streamers will know to hide/remove it. Pretending it doesn’t exist helps no one.

If that factored in at all.. then it is a consequence of using a disallowed 3rd party tool, no? SE needn't say a damn word about it because the people using ACT already know they're not allowed to. They're just getting away with it because SE doesn't actively enforce.
My opinion is its a waste of a campign. As some already said, people going to drop 4 subs then gtfo.
SE just wants higher numbers on Twitch but fact is this game how much I like it is a complete snooze fest to watch streamed.
What really anoys me as well, its 1 time 1 character so us with alts are SOL right away.
They should just put it in the mogstation right away and would've made more money that way.
While you're right that wow isn't in a good spot right now but at least it's entertaining to watch streamed.
I disagree and so does active viewership on Twitch. But you're entitled to your opinion.
Just as a note, if you want more than one mount you can just create a second (or third, etc.) twitch account. There is no real restriction on that side of things so it's not "Well, I did it once so I'm SOL" at all as you don't need to connect your Twitch with your FF14 account in any way. It just takes a few more minutes of work.
No one knows. Even some on the list stated they were surprised and were never contacted about it.
There are streamers on there that don't even stream FF14, some that haven't for months, some that don't allow gift subs, and so much more.
Of course, some in the FF14 community are actually sending some nasty comments to not only those who didn't get on the list but those who HAVE. WTF people.
While I love the idea they have, let's not lose our collective crap until we hear from SE about this.l I'd love for this to continue and have SE learned what went wrong and do better.
