The problem is that there are 4 different ear types that would each noticeably clip the same hat differently. Even the extremely similar tufted and untufted straight ears would do so. Fitting hats to Viera is potentially 4 times the work of the other races.

Viera can wear the hat of the new mogstation outfit , Hrothgar can't.

It's probably about invisible head gears.

As a Bun Bun player myself, I cold care less about helmets and whatnot. I think the little bits she CAN wear are plenty good enough. i.e. Machinist Goggles (in the up position of course), Dancers Hair Bow. Back when I played the standard Hyur male I turned the headgear option off anyway. I think it's a little harsh to say they don't want people to play a certain race because of that. Maybe for you but I have a feeling the thousands of other Bun Buns I see don't really give a crap about whether or not they can wear helmets or not.

Well not all of us wore hats on the other races. I almost always had a flower in my hair as a miqo so that means the hat restriction on viera doesn't affect me much personally. However just because I rarely wore hats doesn't mean I don't want other players to have the option to. I know some people who won't play viera and hrothgar solely because they would no longer be able to wear hats.

My personal issue is hairstyles. I love the one I have...but it's the only one available I like for my character. To make things worse the hairstyles I used on my miqo would need minimal adjustment at best for viera. Viera and hrothgar have a ridiculously low range of hairstyles. If we can't have hats at least we should have a lot of hair options...but we don't : /

When you look at the whole picture viera and hrothgar have by far the smallest amount of head options by a huge chunk compared to the other races, because they got shafted for both hair and headgear. And on top of that hrothgar need to fantasia to get a totally new hairstyle which is just...wat -_-

I think most people who play viera have accepted (for the most part) that they can't really wear most headgear. I think lack of hairstyles is the biggest issue for viera players. It is for me, I could go without most of the hats in the game personally, but the lack of hairstyles plus the lack of headgear together is pretty bad.

Yes, both are a big issue, but trying to work with like 5-7 hairstyles is incredibly limiting, you meet your twin all over the place. Which was fine in an mmo I was playing in 2008. Female Viera should already have at the very least 15 hairstyles considering they don't have to use time adjusting any hats/helmets on them.

Yeah, that's what I was saying. ESPECIALLY if you are a face 1 viera. There are so few hairstyles that even when you are using a lesser used viera hairstyle you will find a twin. People have to go out of their way using underutilized skin tones, tattoos, face paint, to even make their viera look a little more unique. Yeah we all got it bad but Viera and Hroths have it the worst. On Avg me and you might find a twin every 100 players.. they find theirs ever 10 if that.

So were the Au ra, they have horns that would be hard to fit yet they make them fit and they give them all the hairstyle. And I know the head is different but its not that much to ask from a subscription based mmo to be able to wear headgear on your character, you cant tell me they dont have the resources to work on that.

I'm still waiting on the new customization options like hairstyles and such we were assured were coming.

Auri head structure is pretty much the same as everyone else's, just with horns instead of ears. Pretty sure they just clip out, but I'm playing my Hrothgar toon right now so I can't go check. The most deviant prior to that was the Miqo'te, but they got around that by putting caps over where their ears would poke out; the same technique simply would not work for Viera (and Hrothgar, though few people care) due to how headgear is applied.

One thing the director / producer complains about often is that corporate doesn't give him enough resources to properly run the game... so yeah, they might actually not have the resources.

I love being a viera, have been since ShB started. I love the way she looks and my bunny ears are my hat and my current hairstyle is always the prettiest! sure some need variety, we do have unique beautiful hairstyle, but yes we do need more viera haistyle. And all the hairstyles i bought or got in game, my retainers enjoy them. Lol

So just saying that some like me adore being a viera, and even we're not getting much right now(hopefully soon and i'm sure they are working it), i don't mind because i love my viera and i thank SE for letting me be a bunny!:)

For me I play Viera alts because it's the only way to have a female character who both looks somewhat mature and doesn't have stiff animations. The lack of customization does hurt though.

I always keep headgear hidden so I am fine with it. I will say the lack of new hairstyles is irritating, but if any race needs improvement it is Hrothgar over Viera. Poor things can't even change their 2 hairstyles without using a fantasia. Sadly, I doubt SE has much incentive to update Hrothgar in the future as the populations are dwindling to nothing. I may see one or two at most.

Nah - every single piece of equipment, except for most revealing ones, is restricted from use when player is Viera. :p

The only thing I am miffed about with Viera is the lack of fresh new hairstyles. Or even old hairstyles that are rewards from things like the modern aesthetics stuff from MGP/PvP/PotD/HoH.

Those pieces and anything purchaseable on mogstation should atleast be added to Viera also.
I understand the complications with hrothgar as their heads are totally different from a human head, but Viera ears arent much different from a miqote... So really they should be able to convert at least those reward hairstyles without much issue..

I can tolerate no head pieces. I cant tolerate the limited hair options. (I feel even worse for poor Hrothgar, I hope they get new faces and therefore hairs soon also)

Agree, if they really can't ever wear any hats/helmets they should be balanced by having the most hairstyles; same for hrothgar, but with them maybe have a bunch of faces glued to their face?

Headpieces I can live without, just wish Viera had more hairstyles. I like my Viera Alt, but the lack of hairstyles sort of kills me playing my Viera.

I guess for me glamour really isn't that important, nor my looks as far as being different from other people, it really doesn't bother me. If you look at my glamour plates its 99% the level 80 gear of the job. For example this is my Machinist. Her level 80 armor set is her glamour. Same for my PLD, DRK, DNC, etc. As long as I look cute its all good!

I agree. I'm very surprised that the helms that came AFTER Viera still won't work on them.

Hrothgar they can even use the excuse that they didn't figure out how to do modelling for a lion's head... But Viera is literally a human head with ears placed in a similar position to a Miqo'te.

Same thing applies for the new hairstyles released after ShB.
