Someone in the old FCs are visiting the homes to reset the timers.

There are definitions and then there's the real world or in this case the world of XIV.
Also, you do realize that solo companies/businesses exist in the real world?
A lot of times, FC members in actual FCs, are there to be FC credit generating minions who will fuel the submarines of the FC Master/Officers or so they can buy stuff like althyk lav seeds using FC credits.
Secondly, let's us consider all these FCs complaining that they can't get a house.
There are quite a number of solo players who own multiple FC houses. Often these were not bought from the system but from other players for gil.
If a solo player can put in the effort/grind to acquire FC houses, what are these FCs with multiple members doing?
To me, it seems these FCs are not motivated enough to get a FC house.
Folks are getting too caught up in arguing over this. Instead of arguing, we should all be united in demanding instanced housing so that every individual and free company can have one.
I've said it so many times and I'll reiterate it again here:
If you have the gil, you and/or your FC should be able to get a house of whatever size you can afford.
Anything less than that is, and will ALWAYS be, unacceptable.
Exactly, this all comes down to SE not having gone with instanced housing in the first place like other major MMORPGs.
Yet, over the years they have doubled down on the persistent ward housing.
Considering that SE seems to be averse to reworking the housing system, these solutions would go a long way:
1. Upgradeable apartments with balconies for gardens
2. Delink the FC workshop from FC housing and link it to the GC instead, making the workshop individual content.
FCs take up 27.9% of the houses on the NA DCs and are offering housing to more players than personal housing. Yall are barking at the wrong tree. You wanna complain? Go after personal housing.
If we really have to have the wards remain than at least giving the option for workshop/gardening to non-house owners would be a fantastic step. While these are excellent ideas I'll keep arguing for revamping the housing system. When I see people arguing over the scraps of the housing system like this, it only makes me realize that the forced scarcity and the arguments over obtaining house isn't the problem. These arguments are symptoms of a much greater problem, namely the broken housing system.
You fix the system, you fix the symptoms.
Not necessarily. A lot of those FCs could easily be solo or few-member FCs, as evidenced by several people in this thread, and even FCs with more people don't necessarily mean that all or even many of the FC members have access to all of the features of that house. Odds are only a few have access to things like decoration, gardening, and the workshop, and those rewards may or may not get shared around. FCs have the potential to offer housing to far more people, but in practice it isn't necessarily the case that they actually do.
Sure members can get their own room to personalize, but that's dependent on their staying in the guild (and not leaving or getting kicked), the FC continuing to exist and/or own the house. Personally I haven't bought an FC room in years because my ability to keep it isn't as much in my control and my own personal house is. That and, I think they changed this, but there was a time when houses couldn't be relocated while a member owned a room - which resulted in me being kicked out of my FC while offline so they could move to a larger house.
And on the flip side, every personal house can have tenants - I myself have two, and I'd love to be able to allow more. Me and my friends share housing resources all the time across our houses, especially the gardens.
This isn't a black/white us vs them issue.
Ok actually just gonna rewrite this reply because it's not even making sense to me rereading it
This isn't a matter of which type of housing is inferior or superior. Both have flaws, and both have room for improvement. My point was that every FC occupying a house is not necessarily offering more housing to anyone than a personal house. Whether or not people enjoy being in FCs that don't let them decorate or get the benefits of workshop and garden doesn't matter - that FC still exists and is still occupying a housing plot.
The fact is personal housing exists, and it really doesn't matter whether anyone thinks it should or shouldn't. The players aren't the core of the problems with housing. Saying personal housing is the reason there's a problem is all well and good, but removing it now would only serve to upset or at best disappoint everyone who has and enjoys a personal house. The ship has already sailed.
I'm of the opinion that there are a lot of things they could do to improve things for everyone. Some of them would maybe even mean they could reduce or remove the timer entirely. Whether they'll do them is another matter.
If one man FC can be smart enough to get the FC house, what multi man FC without house do? Cry in the forum corner about you cant get a house?
Dude, just make all of your member go out there and hunt for one, that not something rocket scientist, your FC member just lazy
Limit land ownership to a single plot PER ACCOUNT. That alone would free up several wards worth of server space.
This wouldnt be possible with how they handle FC land ownership.Quote:

They even reverted the change that limited you to 1 FC house per account almost immediately after implementing it, because of how easy it is to manipulate and potentially keep someone from owning property, or causing issues with people who own houses not being able to have leadership of a FC transferred to them.
Theyve needed to implement one of a number of possible solutions for housing, but they havent really seen it as a big problem until somewhat recently.
You could probably have saved ~8% of used housing by letting FC's access their workshop through the GC barracks doors (to keep it a physical place), or through an interface in the guild management window, especially if:
Apartments could hold up to 3 (or even more, its a silly restriction anyway) deluxe garden patches.
If they gonna change FC house for one man FC, atleast change how workshop can be use in FC first, many FC has their workshop lock for high profile member only why constant ask for other member to help them build sub and airship, that us the main reason that i go solo
Did you already find someone? Otherwise I can create 2 alts on ragna quickly
Just because you don't see them doesn't mean they are't active. Besides the demo timer is OFF right now anyways. Regardless, back on topic.
Before recently the only thing that is different from player to FC housing was the workshop and being solo meant nothing because you couldn't do any of the projects.(now you can) but that was only recent
It makes little difference, anyone can make a FC and have it SOLO which does nothing for what SE was trying to accomplish.
Yes and no? The risk comes from the player interaction (you could get ripped off) Not GM interaction (as long as RMT isnt involved) Over the last few years and few server transfers I have purchased and sold a few FC's/Houses with zero issue.(take it how you will)
Tank you but i already found someone and even created a few alts so i guess my FC should have enough chars now. However the FC Plot is still missing, im compatating usually against 10 other players or more sometimes.
My issue is i dont trust other ppl and not just ingame. I know how easy it can be to betray and use other ppl and a system like this screams to be abused. The buyer has absolute zero security in sutch a trade, all he can do is trust in the good will of ther other person and hope for the best.
The seller could very easy wait until the buyer gives him all the money and than kick him out of the house and group. The chances are also very good that GM wont do anything (like so often with other things to) and just say to you "its your own risk".
