Viera & Hrothgar need access to more helmets/Hats

I made my choice when I was told I'd never get any, so if I get any at all I simply consider it a welcome bonus but I in no way need them and will happily live without them for getting to play a race I enjoy.

And that's perfectly fine-- I also find it unacceptable those sorts of limitations. If it was a "for now, they cant have X but down the road, yes" then I'd be singing a different tune

I've thought of this as well; maybe the reason we are getting less is due to the work being put on the races? Like cosmetic updates or something? Maybe the same gorgeous story early shadowbringers was? Like spreading resources out instead of spending more time on dungeons than there needs to be etc.
It's no lie that the previous races need a visual update and the new races need to be completed.

I've just never been able to stand them. Usually hid any hats that had the little socks. Some of my fav hats are the ones where the ears just poke through xD like... the spotted hat from the couerlregina fate that I finally got but can't wear on my Viera <.<

I probably just have really bad taste. ;) I find coifs really adorable also, albeit in more of the 'it's so ugly it's cute!" kind of way.

I do still totally appreciate ear-holes as well. Would love if they gave that treatment across the board, but I'm not holding my breath on that :(

Having 2 foot long ears with clippy tuffs of fur clip out of the top of your head is far more noticeable than some rigid horns poking out the side. As someone who has played that race and is VERY triggered by needless clipping (Short hair for life) I can say that though I'm not a fan of some of the clipping with the horns it is in no way all that distracting. The horns are actually designed in a way so that most of the time you can reason it away because they cover the clipping point (so you can easily think "there's a spot where the character slotted on the helm" for example)

Just like I don't have the same reaction to tails clipping through 99% of tops as I do when I look at this.

And again, Viera ears ARE IN their "hat" slot. Even if the devs wanted to be lazy and "just make the ears clip through the hats" and embrace the visual pain that would be "bent ears" clipping through something like this they would STILL have to make 4 . different . versions of every hat in the game just to make each look like a lazy clippy poop because the hat would have to replace the ears on Viera with a "Hat + whatever ear they picked" model.
(And ontop of that, they would have to design "hat hair models" for all of Viera hairs ... which doesn't seem like a big deal at first but it's even more work down the line seeing as they will only get unique hairs in the future)

That's more work than any race in this game gets lol

Like I said, new game and I'm sure it'll be far easier to make up a new system for handling Viera ears. But that aint what we got, we got a game that was built fast on the back of a broken nightmare. Game's been showing it's age and there are a number of common play CC options we will simply never get because the game was built the way it was. It really is a minor miracle that they got the 2 races in the way they did ... because it's clear that the most logical step in making them would have been to make Highlander Neko instead of Hrothgar and a tall, tailless neko with stilly longer "bunny like" ears instead of Viera.

It's all a lie, photoshop, as some Fallout guy said, this suppose to break the game and Vieras cant use modded hair.

You can see how badly the sunhat was cropped that it was poorly photoshopped. That and the sunhat is at a different resolution to the rest of the picture and appears pixelated at the edges and that the hat is being has the wrong lighting, being more bright at the outer edges despite the light sources obviously coming from behind the camera only.

I'm a Graphic Designer, your pics are obviously photoshopped. On closer inspection I did see that hat's resolution does match with the background, it's just your photo just has extremely low resolution. But again look at the lighting, the back of her hair is in shadow (picture 2) but the back of her hat is lit up.

I think atleast give Hrothgar & Viera access to the mogstation headpieces.

Maybe eventually, Hrothgar & Viera will have access to more headpieces in the future, or SE will see noone seems to be asking, so like many things- will be swept under the rug & forgotten about, just like players asking for less NPC exclusive hairstyles.

One fine example: Matoya's Hat. It's a bonus item given for purchasing the Encyclopedia Eorzea-- Something that can be obtained only by money needs to be designed for all races in mind. Yes, it's optional, but that's no excuse as to why it's limited to other races.


If Au'Ra can somehow still wear helmets through their horns- Hrothgar & Viera can wear more hats & Helmets- Not every large hat has to have Viera ears sticking out of it- but I can see most working just like how hoods work on Viera- Most headpieces & hats should be visible, if not all.
On an RP standpoint- I can see Hrothgar melding holes in their helmets so their horns can come through-
Viera & Hrothgar can have more hats & helmets designed to wear & actually be seen.

Agree with me or not, my point stands- Hrothgar & Viera need to have more hats & helmets visible.

Oh i agree with you they need more. However i don't agree with you on how you are coming out with it. The fact that Yoshi has stated they are working on it to make it happen but you feel the need to "Keep it in SE's face" proves you're stuck up. And it's not like there are other threads about this.

Some are claiming that Bozja Hrothgar are using different hair style/face combinations so that should point to them adding new hair to Viera and hrothgar. I expect it in 5.3.

That's true, but that only started in Shadowbringers, right? This might signal to an expanded character creator in 6.0 where they add extra options.

What good is having exclusive items, if I need to fantasia to another race to play it?
Not to mention, a mother of 2 can fix this problem within 2 months of Dawntrail releasing, in her spare time, coding/modeling by herself in her basement.
There's genuinely no excuse for the sorry state of Viera and Hrothgar.

Am not to worried about the hats, in a way I think there should be some downfalls for various races and the likes, however it would be nice if things where fitting better and so and so forth instead.

i was about to comment about the fact that someone necro'd 4 threads with the same copy/pasted comment, but now im just astonished at the idea someone wants "downfalls" of playing your favorite races ... what're the upsides to hrothgar and viera then, since its legal for the other races to wear hats and to be able to change their hair or even have more than 5 hair?
