No, it died because the current card system is meh at best, the DPS rotations became stale, and Nocturnal Sect still largely blows.

The former card system wasn't that great in the first place. Half of the cards being largely useless and having a couple that were okay didn't make it better.

That would make Ninja perfect to play as far as I'm concerned.

I dont even play ninja but you know you can still use ten chi jin to do shuriken/katon/doton right? Jin-Ten-Chi literally does shiriken/katon/doton back to back.

Dragoon:
I really like most everything about Dragoon except one thing - jumps. For being so iconic, I don't like the way they work. My knee-jerk quick and dirty change. All jumps are ground-targeted AoEs. (Don't need a target to jump now.) Potency would have to be reduced accordingly, however. The other change I would make is that while in a jump animation, Dragoons cannot be hit by targeted AoEs. (Cones, circles, etc.) Arena-wide AoE's still would. Not sure how that would affect stack mechanics, however. Like I said. Knee-jerk.

So, I come from other mmos where a single class has multiple specs available, which is something I quite like, and it made me think about three different gameplay for Sam, basically one burst, one sustained and one tank spec. I'll try and edit whatever comes to mind after, but for a quick rundown of one spec for now :


Burst Sam :
- Tsubame becomes an oGCD, usable after a Midare once every minute
- Combo system reworked into priority system
- Iaijutsu reworked into Midare only, that requires at least one (max three) sen to be used, each sen stack increasing the power of Midare.
- You have two way of building sens : 50% chance proc on every weaponskill, available every 12sec or a bit more, or earned when using one ability, Yukikaze. Each sen proc also deals a slight amount of damage (maybe 70potency ? I can't really judge)
-Yukikaze gets a 12sec cooldown, and cost 30 kenki to be used.
- Shifu keeps its speed buff (maybe increase it a little, so SkS wouldn't be such a trash stat), and deals more damage but cost 30 kenki.
- Jinpu loses its damage buff, but gives a two-stack buff that reduces the kenki cost of Yukikaze by 10 (20 when you have both stack).
- Both Shifu and Jinpu evolve into Kasha and Gekko at higher level, dealing more damage.
- Every 20sec or maybe more you get a proc when dealing direct damage that makes Shifu/Kasha cost no kenki and deal even more damage. The goal is to make Kasha viable only with said proc.
- Hakaze gets still used as a filler when no procced abilities are available, it should deal decent damage but not much since it can proc sens.
- Higanbana becomes GNB dot, 1min cd for a 30sec dot, maybe more.
- Shoha becomes a powerfull weaponskill, that can only be used after a critical hit (?). The goal is to try and reduce Hakaze usage by giving another filler.
- Meykio reworked to give instantly 3 sen stack every minute (resets every time you leave combat ?).
-Still not sure about every other kenki ability.

Feel free to give some insights about this, it's just some silly stuff but maybe it can become interesting :D
