Are we talking about the same rules that banned people for #ottergate and yet lets 50+pages threads rife with profanity, vicious verbal attacks and other nonsense still stand?

EDIT: oh wait, you're right. Ottergate had nothing to do with FF14 (even though some threads that also have no relation to FF14 stand) while the other was on topic. Those guys should've followed the rules. End of story.

It pleases me ottergate is still remembered, someday FF14 will get more otters, maybe Koji Fox will even acknowledge it in an item description, that would be awesome.

Squeenix community support is largely a joke.

They arent even among the top in MMO's. There are 20 year old games with fewer total employees than red names on this board who have more interactions with the community on their forums in a day than there are in a month across EVERY platform 14 has a presence. Fewer random bans and deleted posts too.

I think they're going by a Japanese forum model, in short, passive aggressive without being overt. Post is bad, post gets deleted or user banned. No direct contact. This, I feel has its positives such as a lack of overall antagonism from mods, no mod worship which is heavy in many NA forums and someone can't be accused of picking favorites. You report, it usually works.

The negatives are that people will swear up and down the entirety of Square Enix including the president himself does not care when really, it should be the staff of the forums that people direct their ire to, and their boss to whom they answer to in terms of how they must moderate.

This - and the flipside of it which is that if you don't report, I suspect the mods are not allowed to make their own judgement, and have to wait for someone to call them in.

"Ottergate" gets brought up as an example of the mods not acting, but I have to wonder if people were reporting the other guy's posts or just seeing them and thinking: "surely the mods will take this down? They must be watching the discussion so I don't need to bring it to their attention." Except actually you need to report him before they can act. Meanwhile he reported the otter posts which were, by the rules of the forum, off-topic and needed to be deleted - regardless of the sentiment and context.

I can guarantee you they were being reported

i can rollback my account in warframe within 3 hours and get a lightspeed respond from their CS. as much as i love this game, i doubt squeeeenix able to do that lol. even "small" company like digital extreme acknowledged their SEA customer and have our currency on their website.
i cant even pick my own country when making this god damn account lmao

When I set up my Security token I had my problem (security question) resolved within literally 4 lines of chat. The waiting time for the chat was about 1:30 - 2 minutes. I think that counts as "lightspeed".

It's my 3rd time I had to contact the support (SEPA problems etc.) and all of it was spot-on, human-answered and fixed after 1 response.

The other question is why would you want to have your allcount being rolled back in the first place? Maybe Warframe has other problems then...? :rolleyes:

If look at Square Enix customer service reviews 85% of them is bad. There GM's is really good but fixing errors and bugs they lack a bit on. Took me week to find cause and fix dx11 errors that got after 5.1 patch. Game Rewards never give a care about most time I think it's which every company that pays most is ones that win them.
