"Ottergate" gets brought up as an example of the mods not acting, but I have to wonder if people were reporting the other guy's posts or just seeing them and thinking: "surely the mods will take this down? They must be watching the discussion so I don't need to bring it to their attention." Except actually you need to report him before they can act. Meanwhile he reported the otter posts which were, by the rules of the forum, off-topic and needed to be deleted - regardless of the sentiment and context.
