I'm tryin to find a reference (not succeeding) that the Luminous Engine as used in XIV carried with it a fair amount of CPU overhead as compared to other game engines. IIRC it was due to the fact it was never intended to be applied to a multiplayer game. I think it was used for XIII first, wasn't it? Anyways, whole thread derailed.
