On the bright side NG+ should allow you to run the 71 dungeon with both of them again. Hopefully.
Put me on for having both of them as Trusts.

Can we have a petition to remove the Trust system altogether? This is an MMO...
Bad news, the latest details about NG+ we heard through interviews and live letters amongst other things, was that Shadowbringers would not yet be replayable at the feature's launch.
Good news, the latest details we have heard blah blah, was that this is indeed how NG+ would work. You can select to 'restart' one entire expansion's worth of quests (from x.0 to final story patch before next expac). This feature would be available for ARR, HW and SB. ShB would be added later.
I think part of the reason they are delaying it is that replayed quests would indeed have their exp rewards, and they don't want people to currently level up their jobs by repeating ShB MSQ over and over (at the current moment).... not like that was much of a consideration due to the amount of actual quests and the total exp they give.
But do we loose our progress we made there if we use NG+? (Flying in an area for example.) Don't really know how NG+ works in games.
Don't think so.
IIRC the plan is that it basically just puts the main quests and job quests from that 'section' (ARR, HW or SB) back into the world for you to play through again.
It won't actually reset anything, should even be able to NG+ alongside playing the current MSQ if for some reason that was something you wanted to do.
Bring back Crystal boi
I will not give up
Funny that I came to the forums after doing a Trust and seeing I couldn't pick the Exarch or even Lyna, at least I got to run through them during the msq I suppose, though like many others I hope they become available later down the line, possibly even with other NPCs from other expansions.
Maybe a future quest will have the Exarch teach us to let expanse contract and eon become instant so we can summon loads of different options in the future.
Would mean the end of slightly awkward "maybe some of your friends are out fishing in Othard?" dialogue too, the story can just assume you took a moment to summon your pals whenever you need to do group content.
Has anyone maxed all the trusts yet? I'd like to know what the reward is, maybe we unlock them that way?
Since i played the MSQ with a friend and we were kind of powering through, i missed the opportunity to play with Exarch at all, which is a bit sad.
There is an info missing, that you can´t do that later anymore...
So yes, pls give the Exarch back.
And while we are at it, give us Estinien with the next Patches.
Yeah, that's why I said most post-ARR content. ARR content very often suggests you get your buddies around, but outside of a couple of jokes like Lyse's "Maybe some of your friends are on holiday in the Ruby Sea?" thing in Stormblood, just about all the content post-ARR, more specifically after Ultima Weapon, tends to go on about how *you* specifically are the only one able to kill X Primal and you're just gonna have to go and do it on your own.
Take, for example, Ravana. You and Ysayle go to confront him. Just the two of you. When Ravana strikes Shiva down he questions if *you* will be a challenge, not you and your friends. Just you.
For most content, pre & post-ARR, you canonically had help. There are a few exceptions here and there, Ravana is actually a good example, but for the most part your journal states that you gathered your party before venturing forth.
It should be noted that while it isn't explicitly stated either way for Ravana, and that the most logical conclusion would be that you fight him alone, the game does give a very flimsy excuse for a full party with an NPC in the cave having found a convenient route in and out that gives you a chance to go get backup if you need.
They also did the same with Ifrit way back at the start of ARR as well.
Getting sort of off track anyway, some of these justifications used for full parties are super flimsy at best is the point, with a canon trust summoning system they'd never have to bother with throwaway NPCs and bizarre fishing holidays ever again. You need help? Well channel your inner Exarch and get it.
Of course it might then go the other way, and we get flimsy explanations for why we didn't just summon up a full party...
Last edit: If we reached across space and time could we get Haurchefant tank trust?
Haha. That's exactly what Yoshi said what he thinks that people will tell them. XD
Yes, please! Just for trust system and not MSQ I would totally want him be there. (Not that I wouldn't want him in MSQ but after what happened in Heavensward... *sigh*)
I've not really read many of the journals, tbh, so I'll have to take your word on that. Just going by in-game dialogue and cutscenes, it really gives the feeling of you doing it alone, so I guess the big distinction is whether or not you've read the journals.
You're right about some of the justifications being flimsy. I mean, the sneaky exits you mentioned for Ravana and Ifrit are good examples of flimsy justifications, as it feels really weird that they'd just, you know, sit there and wait for you to come back. I know Ifrit doesn't actually get summoned until you engage the trial, but how long does it take to go out and gather up a bunch of people, all of whom are conveniantly blessed with protection against tempering, then come back? Those prisoners were still just sitting there waiting for Ifrit to be summoned, which was imminent at the point where you were able to sneak off. This is why I always preferred the idea that the WoL mostly just does things on their own, unless otherwise stated. It avoids a lot of these little explanations.
Having a canonical party summoning spell would also work, until it doesn't, anyway. It'd have to be done well, well enough to explain why you can summon a party just as you're about to kill a Primal, but not when you're about to, say, invade Eulmore, and also why you can summon a full party while Nidhogg, Lakshmi, Yotsuyu, Omega, etc are staring at you, but not when it comes time to fight someone like Zenos or Ran'jit. I know those would have come before you learned the space-time party summon spell, but you just KNOW there'll be more of those situations in the future :p
I would totally take a Haurchefant trust tank. But, I'm afraid that the first tankbuster thrown his way will break his shield and one-shot him! Too soon? :p
Seriously guys, it's clearly not a Lv1 shield from how long he held out against that attack.
As I said in another discussion recently: he did the mechanic correctly, but nobody else joined him for the line stack. :/
I would love see add Iroha Trust from FFXI however she is still stuck in Eorzea if ask she know about "Trust"
btw sorry my not good sentence.
I agree it kinda sucks that you lose the opportunity to run holminster with exarch and lyne if you don’t do it with them the first time (and the game doesn’t even tell you that you won’t be able to use them again later). If I’d known that I would have run the dungeons the first time with trust rather than going in with my friends. I know I know, wanting to play an MMO with other people?! What is wrong with me!
It’s especially bad if they have any exclusive dialogue, but I guess I’ll never know now.
Maybe once new game+ comes out we’ll be able to run it again with them, I just hope I don’t have to complete the entirety of ARR, HW and SB just for that...
I think they should have the Crystal Exarch and Lyna as trusts after the MSQ.
And they could also add some roles to certain characters...
Thancred could make use of his old Rogue skills and Urianger go back to Arcanist to be a DPS, Y'shtola could go back to using her Conjurer skills to be a healer.
I quite enjoy the Trust system (halfway to having them all levelled at the moment) and it feels like a good platform for adding more NPCs in the future. Exarch and Lyna seem like obvious candidates for addition down the line, then perhaps adding the option for GC Squadrons to join us (and generally update them)?
I'd like to see another tank trust at the very least. Nothing against Thancred, but I'd like more variation there.
Bumping this up
