See, WoW's advantage is that most of their races were already there from the start, plus their character models and armors are much more simplistic, so they don't need to make as much effort whenever a new race is introduced, unlike XIV where even minimum changes to the head or feet can mean significant extra time of work, as we've been told. (still wish Hrothgars could have beastly feet tho)
Also, Gemina, I think the reaction is due to the original backlash of people not wanting anything to do with 'big steroid bodies' - since we already have Roes - yet SE went with not-Ronso/Roe with a mask instead of the much desired bunny boys. While I agree bashing on people that favor the "generic waifu/boi" body is uncalled for, it's just as unfair to bash on people who want an out-of-the-box, decent bulky race, even if it isn't as popular.
This whole debacle is....a big chunk of emotional distress and misunderstandings that we need to accept at this point instead of being at each others throat tbh. SE can't make everyone happy, so they went for the most favorable route, and we should respect that decision.
