just make protect a defense buff and give it to whm and paladin. idk but ill always associate those classes with eachother despite the class restructure.
Consolidate all physical damage types into just "physical" damage. Remove the debuff from Maim. Ranged still depend on the presence of a melee for synergy, but it no longer matters which melee job it is.
How is Protect iconic? If anything just make it WHM's version of Adloquiem without the heal, or make it a Palisade of sorts.
I'd like to see DA reworked/gone with compensation and summoners get a permanent Bahamut. :D
Hopefully nothing too drastic because reworking everything just for the sake of change has destroyed many top MMOs.
On the discussion of protect, or even things like stoneskin, I think they're really classic so removing them should only be done if something far more interesting AND thematic can take it's place. I say 'and' because you might come up with a cool new spell but I would suggest that it's possible we also modify what protect and spells like that which seem mandatory and super basic like protect is or stoneskin was. For example in Diablo 3 aura skills that give you a passive (basically) also have an active- Toad oil, imo, is an example of a spell that could be made passive with an active.
So for a terrible example (I didn't think long on the repercussion/I don't play healers as mains lol), you might have protect where it applies the buff when none exists; however, when the buff is already active protect duration is refreshed and it's effectiveness is increased by 50% for 3 seconds and a portion of the damage protected during that period is returned as a resource (protect now instant cast or at least instant cast once you're already under the effect of protect). A resource could be as straight forward as mp but you could do other things like increased potency cure or increased damage from your next spells.
I feel protect should operate like an AoE wide bubble on a fairly long CD. So lets say 120 second CD, puts a bubble over party members in range that absorbs 10% of individual party members unbuffed maximum HP. Lasts 10 seconds. Kind of like a aoe version of TBN, but with a long cooldown attached to it and based on party HP, not the casters.
There are some aspd builds on monk and Sam I think that can deplete TP pools with their rotations. Removing cost would make these builds the go to builds I think, though in that case, the aspd threshhold was pretty high...
Hmm might actually be good to remove it so we have more build variety.
I hope they ether fix Egis or delete them. They are not interesting since there is always one that is better than the rest.
Pretty sure it's all about the horn dude. Like 110% sure. :D
(jk ofc).
I think for this live letter beyond getting some new job info I'm most excited to hear what happens to summoner. Of course I'm interested in the other jobs too, I just think that one has the potential to be like "oh hell na, they did it!" but it could always be ruin upgraded to ruin 5.5.
The moment you found out the Shadowbringers media tour is going on now but the NDA only gets lifted at the end of the month....

From the earlier info I was hyped at the 15th thinking that's when news would start to pop up, went through a similar roller-coaster after I found out they get the info now and wait until the whole thing is done before releasing. I get it helps the media be on equal footing and SE control info but but but.. my info.. MyyyY InnFFOO!!! lol :)
Id love to see protect turn into the skill from the original 1.0 opening cinematic that Lamimi casts when derplander is about to be hit by the morbol. Make it WHM only of course.
It would be cool if WHM got that skill that enchants a party member's attack with energy (like she did in the 3.2 cutscene by giving the Ranger an aetherically charged arrow).
Given people were making jokes about "Darkest Arts" becoming a thing while debunking recent leaks AND it includes one of the contradictory leak infos in that reddit post, no this is fake. Plus the fact that all four screenshots are about current skills rather then atleast attempting to show off a new skill to make it more believable.
Hopefully monk because they butchered it in 4.0. Make them faster not slower with gl4 and 1.5 gcd. This is a stretch but the better you play monk the faster you go to a point. Add a dodge and a hand beam wave. Also change the god awful twin snakes, steel peak, and snap punch animation or replace them. Finally give monk the aura from his job and get rid of riddle of tackle mastery.
There can be a few good reasons why, when also coupled with the NDA. For example you do an interview in two countries but you want to give all the outlets an equal chance at being the hot take that people go see (not giving preference to your favorite magazine or whatever), allowing them to come out at a later date means X first person can't beat Z last person just on the fact they came in a different order.
Another reason is that it allows them time to make their articles proper rather than just tossing a random picture and posting rage typing they completed 20 minutes before it went public. Last it can be helpful to plan out when they're going to release their content when you're planning your hype train.
Not that I'm saying it makes it any easier to wait lol.
All the leaks, I can't keep all this hype. My chest feels so little. 23th of May is too far.
You all are looking at the changes for the DOW/DOM of this expansion, what about the changes to the DOL/DOH? One idea that might be interesting is a means for FSH to be able to detect weather patterns much like the Skywatcher, but only the next upcoming weather and how long till spawns. Maybe an in-game macro generator for the crafters?
I've heard summoner called a lot of things, but "weeb ass job" is a new one. Usually that's samurai or ninja.
These leaks have a high chance to be fake or dangerous... if they separated out who saw what they might be able to track back the leak (and of course they could just be fake, like Dark Knight one sounds like a meme).
If they're real be careful sharing them though SE may boop your snoot lol.
Seriously the only reason this media tours exist is exactly to push the hype, through more or less fake leaks as well.
NOW SHARE THE SAUCE
Well, it's like Fan Fest all over again. SE and Yoshi-P are sitting on "secret" info again waiting for a big reveal and in the meantime rumors, leaks, ect, are coming out building people expectation up. You think they would have learned their lessons with Dancer and Viera/Hrothgar disaster, but alas no. At the end of the tour is when the Live Letter should come out and the NDA released. This is the internet age and you can't wait two weeks to drop information because something is always going to fill the void.
You say this, but my GF literally picked summoner 'cause of the horn. Like she likes the class on the whole now, but when she first started, she was like "f... Imma play this for the horn. It looks so stupid! I love it."
Now wheres our passive bonus of 1% more damage if all our armor is dyed pure black dye.
Positional's removed.
Actions combined to reduce button bloat.
Casting time removed for all actions.
Combat is not longer tab targetting, instead it now has a soft auto lock/aim.
My hope is all the ARR classes and jobs be simplified to the same general ease of gameplay as red mages and samurai. The current flowchart used by the older jobs, such as black mages, are ridiculously complex and should be streamlined.
My only other wish is that lilies are made meaningful to white mages. Currently, they are nearly useless.
Many of us white mages remember pointing out the huge flaw with lilies to Square Enix. We were reassured by Yoshi-san it was not the final entiration, only for lilies to be implement by the devs exactly the way it was in pre-release.
Please don't do that again, Yoshi-san. Sometimes the players are right.
Please don't change Monk,
please don't change Monk,
please for all things holy,
please do not change Monk. (e.g: take away our combo rotations or drastically simplify them -further.)
I think they need to fix monk to be frank. The system is a big clunky. Use all your GL to do an attack, then use Cross class abilities + stance dancing to get stacks back ASAP while suffering a damage loss. FoF reduces your aspd but aspd is an ideal stat usually for monks (outside of crit). Dont get me wrong, I like a lot of what monk does with combos and rotations and thing generally, but some of that needs to be cleaned up a little bit.
Concerned that they'll gut tank damage (they've mentioned it's too high), but make no real changes to how fights are entirely focused on enrage timers, or make staying alive any more engaging. So we'll end up with a wet noodle version of the current tanks that still has to prio dps over everything because enrage is a thing.
Also hoping they don't put Samurai "in line with other dps" and forget it has zero utility... or add utility to it and make it another Ninja. Or in general pull a Drk again and make any class inferior to the other options and leave it like that for a year.
And hopefully they don't eliminate positionals entirely.
I don't mean to be skeptical, but I came from WoW so "class changes" tends to fill me with fear rather than excitement now.
Ok. Now this is a crazy fucking fake. XD
