Healers seriously need a nerf in PvP

I've not done a whole lot of feast and frontlines, but in the few I did I never had the feeling that Healers are unkillable. (I play melee dps)

Another thing I don't get - some Dps players seem to think they should have an easy time killing healers solo pretty much regardless of individual skill "because I am a Dps". Like a better dps wiping the floor with you is ok, a better tank stopping you and even killing you is ok, but if a better healer outsustains you it is not?

The issue is not enemy playing a certain role, it is them being flat out better. Can't kill a lone healer? Disengage and regroup. Don't fight worthless battles on your own.

Well they're a healer, that's the friggin point.

You think a healer is gonna try out DPSing a tank/dps when they instead have the power to constantly heal themselves and stall for time?


In PVP everyone needs to work together because the moment you go ballsy and try to solo the other is gonna have backup on call.

dude , im not the one making bold statement , i didnt ask to focus balance solely on largescale pvp, i actually already give my suggestion to split balance in an older topic.

fl didnt need any mobilization to begin with.

i played several thousands of matches since seize realese , i remember having issue to get in just at really odd hour ,i remember having match after match during seize summer at 4am, and during stormblood realese i would so much prefer not to have to play again and with hordes of exp/wolf farmers.

so fl issue was never about the size of its playerbase, the problem is the average carefree behaviour that square just keep promoting with its idiotic change.

Healers are not OP atm... They were in rival wings in the very beginning if they had max soaring buff, but that is fixed now imo.

I assume you mean balanced around party vs party and not Feast specifically.
The jobs should be balanced based on a standardized job composition and not based on a specific PvP mod. But hey, the Feast is the only mod which forces this right now, so I guess those statements are synonymous. It's just that I personally can't stand Feast (cause of the god awful medal system), which means statements like "PvP should be balanced around Feast" really don't sit right with me lol.

Ive shut down plenty of healers on my DRK by bringing them down to 40-60 percent, using stun, timing my silence, then using unmend to interrupt while a DPS spanked the WHM.

When theirs two healers, I swap between using CCs and pressure, as they frantically decide to heal each other, themselves, or the loldrg who went too far ahead and is at 5 percent HP. Well drg dead, monk next, repeat, they choose themselves.

Healers are Fine right now.

This is a Git Gut issue.

The big problem is that a lot of jobs have no CC or limited, so healers are rarely threatened. DRG and SAM both have no CC at all, and really middling damage. A healer can go 1 v 3 fairly easily if there is no CC, and that shouldn't be a thing. It's not healing output that is the issue, it's the lack of CC.

Can we remove dps too? Dying really sucks.

Looks like some people still dont know they should press their silence or stunbutton when the healer is low, not when hes at full health.

I would rather face a Diamond healer than a Diamond DPS. There's so many tools to you jusy out right burst and delete the opponent than it is to save it.

The more inexperienced and worser you are, of course healers will seem OP, as you'll mostly have the bad DPS to come with so it becomes a war of attrition.

During a practice match facing against 2 of my Diamond DPS friends, they literally bursted and killed someone in 2 seconds through sheer focus where even with all my tools I just couldn't save them (though getting cc'd helps as well).

I think you guys miss a point. OP is referring to healer on the Frontline and S/E already showing that they can have a separate balance system for Frontline and Feast at 4.5. I am not sure why people keep referring to Feast

Feast is what currently balances jobs in PvP. In Feast there are way less players in teams and even there healers die VERY easily if players know what to do. Why would the job have to be weakened in a mode where there is 8-24 players in 1 team? Someone pointed it well out earlier that its not healing problem. The dps jobs which have stuns/silences in their abilities can 1v1 healers but sadly not every job has access to these abilities :/

I am a PvP healer main since ARR and, in my opinion, HW healing was better than SB healing.
Back then, you could easily kill bad healers.
However it was better for healers too, as there were far more tools to create a skill-gap between good and bad healers, so it felt rewarding for healers in HW PvP when you did maximize your abilities, and win against teams with worse healers.
Now it's just... Who has better latency for the clunky heals.

The roles in PvP have been simplified too much, so it feels worse for everyone. Every class just feels like it has tools missing that they had in HW, and it just doesn't feel nice.

I miss the area effect skills, honestly. It felt nice to be able to try to exercise area control, instead of just running circles around a wall for evasion.

And all in all, spamming a single target heal might work for something actiony like overwatch or monster hunter: world, but in FF14 with its tab target nature, it gets to be pretty dull...
