No but you’ll spend the majority of time in Deliverance once you hit 70. But I’d worry about that once you get there.

That still wouldn’t be a waste. It increases the maximum HP as well, so you can’t exactly overcap as you put it. It’s actually used as part of the burst rotation once you’re at 70, it’s used offensively as well.

Yeah, my brain slipped into thinking about Equilibrium in Defiance for a second there.

Pre-70, ToB should just be used as part of your defensive rotation and I personally liked to pair it with Convalescence since you are stacking a heal buff with an hp buff.
At/post-70 ToB becomes part of your offensive rotation, pairing it with Upheaval during IR to slightly increase damage since that attack's damage is based on your HP and is affected by the ToB buff.

I only claim it to be useless when a lot of things will Immune it.

Especially if there's a DRG in the party because their Spineshatter Dive is great for building up the diminishing returns... Same thing with MNK and Shoulder Tackle. To say nothing about WHM's and their Holy Spam.

Can make it really annoying when fighting certain enemies that you WANT to be able to interrupt but lel Diminishing Returns...

A notable example is the enemy before the last boss in Sirensong Sea that has an AoE terror effect but casts it more frequently than just Interject alone can cover...

I kind of wish Low Blow ignored DR at times so that particular tool wouldn't get invalidated by other classes whom inexplicably have stuns tied to DPS tools >.>

I make use of Low Blow any time I can (or just any time I notice a long cast or recognize a debuff or heavy hit in general regardless of role), so that's no problem, but I wasn't seeing Thrill stacking with convalescence much when I was using it, but I can keep trying.

I'm *very* familiar with people debuffing something to the point a stun or silence immunity comes into play though which is just stupid annoying no matter what role you are cause it interferes with others (reasons I don't abuse shoulder tackle/low blow in parties as a monk or head graze as a machinist)

They don't directly stack effects, they just have complementary effects. You won't see Convalescence increasing the heal you get from ToB since it is not "Healing Magic". Convalescence increases incoming healing while ToB increases HP total, therefore giving you a larger HP pool to take greater advantage of the increased healing and reducing the potential of over-healing. They also have the same duration and recast time so they can fit together quite well.

Ok, I see what you mean.

I tried it out during a particularly unfortunately dangerous pull on Longstop, it certainly helped me not die against 9 enemies at once (and popping a potion when my hp dropped to 20...)

Uh, current last question, off-tanking is just fighting in non-tank stance unless adds show up while the MT is on the boss? I finally made it to 50 but playing one of the MSDs had me looking obviously lost since the drk was pulling everything along the way, not counting how the raid gets burned through like no one's business even synced.

Yeah off tanking in later fights usually has more things to do and be aware of. But you’ll just have to learn those as you go as each encounter is unique in that regards. While almost every encounter is the same for the main tank role.

I don't mind the awareness needed (I have to do that as a general healer cause the tank usually ends up being kinda tunnel vision), but it feels..weird to walk around like such, mostly in these dungeon raids at least.

I feel like I'll have to re-learn later fights I already know just to pick up what an OT is supposed to be doing :( (not counting Byakko or Tsukiyomi anyway)

Great insight!
But I still have doubts in the trail part like when should I predict to intervene. For now, I usually do dps as an off tank or tank secondary mobs while the main tank focuses on the boss.
