Well it's official now! FFXV crossover event on the way!

4-person mount? I can't wait! We've been waiting for this event since XV came out...

Reminds me of WoW motorcycle.

Pandering. XV was cool and all... but, really? Maybe if it's just temporary for the event, then I could see it. Otherwise, this game is just going to turn into a junkyard of other FF titles.

Now the real question...

When we make camp with Noctis...

Will we Discovah a NEW CUL RECIPE for Cup O'Noodles?!

I'm curious as to whether it will actually be limited time. Garo is still available, as is MHW. I know Lightning Returns was limited, but since this is permanent for XV it might be permanent for us, too.

Especially since it's appears to be a trial and not a FATE like Lightning event was... well at least the Garuda fight. The Magitek fight in the open world could possibly be a FATE...

Nothing is going to be more fitting and suited to the world of ffxiv than walking thru Thanalan or La Noscea and having a modern car pass you on by...

Not my choice in aesthetics, but the utility of that mount will beat looking very much out of place.

Will be nice to have a 4 person mount..haha now I can bum rides off my buddies >_> and yeah not my first choice looks wise..but I guess at least it's super useful :)

Yep. I'm not one to whinge about "MUH IMMERSION!!!11" but this is honestly f2p Korean MMO levels of bad. Reminds me of the godawful cop car in TERA.

I want it to come with collision so if two regalias impact they come to a dead stop and can't be used for a while.

ff15 was the most successful ff they ever created. The west are the only people who even complain about the game just like 13. However, in the east its nothing but praise. No wonder they never listen to the garbage feedback of the west. If they did, we would never have anything good in life.

That is an ignorant statement to make and stereotyping. You are entitled to your opinion but it is a very bad one and almost stated as a hate crime. It is FANTASY where "MUH IMMERSION is broken" because anything can happen. That's what makes it fun.

Being bad is definitely an opinion and not true when it comes to the masses. It is literally just a meme that people follow because they didnt get what they want. The sales were fine and doesnt need a boost; just something fans from FFXIV has requested for a long time. DLC was canceled so they can work on other titles like FFVII and porting kh3 to the switch etc.

You don't cancel DLC if you think your initial game was successful and able to make you more money via DLC; as the cancelling of the DLC cost them money in the first place.

So yes.. the game is one of the lowest selling FF games in their line up; As none of the stats ever talk about numbers sold to customers, just copies shipped to the retailers. SQE made money of what retailers wanted for their initial launch, but that doesn't represent copies sold to consumers or the sales to consumers that weren't at discounted prices, as there were price drops in XV not two months after the release of the game; and i do know there was, as i have dealings with the largest software suppliers in Canada, and they sent out price protection forms before two months were passed. (That's paperwork for the retailer to gain some of their money back after a drop in price at the supplier/publisher level in the game so they can keep trying to sell it at competitive prices and not suffer because they initially purchased the game at it's initial release cost)

You don't do that to a high selling product.

Hopefully, it's a permanent event, like Rathalos and Garo.

It seems like there's a quest chain and trial, so I'm assuming it'll be permanent content like XV's side of the crossover.

It's good to at least see that the event is coming soon, people have been asking for it for years now. The mount doesn't really fit my choice of style but if it carries 4 players that'll be super useful for certain content, so i'm excited about that. Maybe they'll start to introduce more of these mounts in the future and not lock everyone behind a paywall, but honestly I expect this one to eventually make it into the cash shop at some point too.

I stop caring about what fits when I remembered all of the final fantasys had random bits of mixing in them. Magic with mechs is like this series theme. 7,8,9,10 etc etc. Plus what better crossover to he had with xiv then another actual final fantasy title. Plus this IS what the community at large has been asking for.

Honestly, with Garlemald having so much High-tech Sci-fi technology in their society I will not be surprised if we see some Cars and maybe smartphones in Garlemald or at least in side Garlean Empire's capital city. Heck we already learned linkpearls are basically hand-free cellphones with the technology used being basically everything cellphone related but Eorzeans assume it is magic because they don't understand the engineering description about how the micro-chip used for it works.

They are currently the most advance civilization right now and have already mastered holographic technology, Trains, actual modern roads, flying battleships with no windows (remember Windows are structual weaknesses), and even full Battle-Mechs.

The problem is aesthetics. XIV has Allagan and Garlean technology, and it all looks a certain way. Neither of which have their vehicles looking like a German car company.
If they made it look like Garlean tech, there wouldn't be a problem in my eyes, but it doesn't look like any of the Garlean machinery we have seen. It looks like an Audi R8 that rolled off the factory floor in Neckarsulm, Germany.

For example.. would it make sense to see Space Marine Power Armour and Bolters and chainswords being worn by the Garleans? They have tech to make armoured suits already.. so what's the the problem? The problem would be aesthetics. It wouldn't look like it's something the Garleans would make, it would look like it's ripped out of another world and they would stand out like a sore thumb every time you saw them because their look doesn't fit what the world presents as it's look.

The issue with the comparison is more towards the Aesthetics of their Military designed content rather than Civilian contents.

When it comes to Aesthetics between Military gear and public civilian use gears the aethetics tend to change for different reasons.

We have yet to see into what type of aethetics garlean civilians are into yet since we have no access into Garlean Society until 5.0.

For all we know garlean civilians may be more into aethetics similar to our Real World with Smartphones, mangas/comics, anime shows on Holographic television and internet, and etc. Heck i will not be surprised if we run into a Manga writer in garlean society once we get there.

To be fair, the Carblinkles, Namazu, Moogle, and Falcon/rocket/whatever mount are lore-appropriate, if not silly-looking. Whisper-a-Gogo or whatever it is is just an abomination and started the downward trend of immersion-breaking sellout mounts tbh.

WoW recently added a literal flying pig mount and at this point I just can't even with game developers.

Looks like we have a garuda trial grind ahead of ourselves.

Thats for the FF XV part, its what they do to get their XIV rewards. They haven't revealed what we have to do in XIV yet (and any rewards we get other than the car)

Car and bike can't fit okay in mmo because its look more clumsy then all what you showed here.
When S class auto and bike ride with speed of chocobo, can jump and turn without moving - it looks akward.
Okay, if no one cares about animation and etc. and want only badass look give 10m sword for pld and giant shield which would be clipping uderground.

I think you missed the point of the exchange. We have a current represented aesthetic to how Garlean technology and clothing (through some MSQ Garleans who weren't in armour, Cid's and Nero's way of dress) looks and even how loyal Garleans act. The fact that we haven't been to Garlemald doesn't mean that we have no information on how they operate, look or live and get to say "the things we've seen are in no way representative of what we may see, so i'm going to pretend they have manga and cell phones and other head-canon and then plug my ears."
