It helps that at this point for Stormblood we had a fanfest in Oct, Dec, and were gearing up for the third in Feb. This time we won't get all the info until the third Fanfest in March.

Three more days ladies and gentlemen. Place your bets. I anticipate Viera, Gublader, a new primal, the new gimmick and a new job tease shirt.
Hoping to hear we get Gunblade as a tank. At the same time I'm horrified at the thought of them even uttering the word relic at either of the fanfests. Other than that yeah I fully expect us to get Viera confirmed and for us to finally see male Viera, probably some of the new zones, an extended teaser trailer, and possibly some info on class changes.
SE: That's it! Dear players, we've found a lucrative market in this thing called salt - please look forward to it!
Watch him wear a blue mage t-shirt just because lol. Hope the gunblade job has a name like Soldier or Magitek Knight or maybe reference to a new (sort of) npc that is a Shadow Hunter.
I "hoping" for the Gunblade job to be a DPS, but "expecting" it to be a Tank. Tho we know they are reworking DRK so maybe that will be the tank of the expansion. Who knows, maybe DRK will become a DPS and the gunblade job will be a tank. *shrugs*
Viera reveal. I'm pretty sure the Au Ra were revealed at the 2nd fan fest last time we got a new race.
I'm not sure what the next job will be. Dancer, Geomancer, Arithmatician, Berserker, Gun Mage... hah! Maybe that's what the gunblade job will be called.
I think Yoshi said in a live letter that we would get the next part of the trailer at the 2nd fan fest and the full trailer at the Japan fan fest.
I think they might show some areas in game this time maybe? Did they do that before? I can't remember.
I think they will tell the 8 man raid and 24 man raid in the 3rd fan fest.
I think they will reveal Blitzball at the 3rd fan fest.
Hmm.. I'm not sure what else they will cover in the key notes. I know they will go over what they covered at the first fan fest so... there is that.
I kind of doubt they'll rework DRK so hard that it'll become a DPS...
The Gunblade class is probably going to be DPS, but then again all there really is to go by is Gaius, Regula and the last boss in the Ghimlyt Dark... So who knows...
As for a name for it, I dunno about Soldier... If looking at existing class names in other FF games, the only ones where Gunblades of any kind are relevant are Commando and Ravager from 13.
I'll take Pagos over having Logos Actions tied to relic any day...
That being said... I would rather Relics be a solo quest / instance battle type of deal or go back to the old way of doing things where they try to make old content populated again and have you do dungeons and trials and things.
Certainly something I hope for but don't expect since there is a demand for a new Tank that can drag people into the Tank role even if they are bad at that role.
The power of "looking cool" is a rather tempting motivation for players to play Tank role even if they are not good at it.
I still think if a new Tank is ever added, it needs to be about the gameplay and not focus on what "looks cool" to make a tank or else we are stuck with very generic designed tanks.
I think that's the worst argument I've heard yet (and the most transparent.) We can't have "cool" tank classes because then bad players might want to play them?
1) Cool is subjective, plenty of people think that the current tanks already "look cool".
2) You want a class that people find fun/cool to play. Even if they start out bad, the more they play, the better the chance they have of learning about it. Is it guaranteed? Of course not. But I'd rather new people try and learn to tank than keep relegating it to the same fragment of the population that already tank.
3) I don't even understand the correlation - a tank can't "look cool" and have gameplay that's good/intuitive/whatever you're trying to say? If it "looks cool," it's by nature generic? Those two things sound... contradictory, to me.
Honestly, just say you want it as DPS and move on. Trying to make up reasons like "oh no, bad people might play it" doesn't make your case any better.
Besides, I don't think we need another DPS that "looks cool" - it might encourage crappy players who don't want to learn what a rotation is and who expect to be carried through the paper bags they can't even DPS through.
I don't care if another DPS is released because we already have enough DPS in general.
I am saying Tank Jobs needs to be well designed over simply being "cool" in vanity. It has always been my own opinion what makes a good Tank Job is the design of the Tank by the gameplay which requires a steady balance of how the Tank will function in its role and how it achieves it.
As long the tank is well designed in gameplay than it should not matter how "cool" it looks because that will be far better than another "Paladin" with a different "sword" and animations.
On relics, I didn't do the ARR one, the HW aside from 2 steps, it was pretty decently done. And Eureka, I haven't gotten past Pagos...
I would like them to do generally what they did with HW... Less RNG FATE drops and no hiding parts behind having to level crafting classes.
I couldn't care less how we get relics. What I want relics that actually feel like magic. Like legendary weapons in WoW. Or hell, maybe even the artifact weapons. Flat bonuses don't really scream awesome to me. And in universe the only really famous and awesome weapon is Tupsimati. Maybe Bradamante. We could really use some improvement in this regard.
I want relics to be at least semi-relevant, not dropped at the end of a patch cycle when there's been more than enough time to get a better weapon from normal raids, never mind EX/Savage/Ultimate.
A thing I have considered to expect will be the 5.0 Raid.
The 4.0 Raid left a big cliffhanger that seems to be teaser to a future 5.X event and I can only guess it maybe a hint to 5.X raid.
It would be interesting if 5.X Raid maybe a actually military assault on a Garlean Empire Stronghold maybe being Midgar City of FF7 with the 1st Raid starting with a arrival on a train with Alliance Forces(aka the other 23 Alliance Players) to establish a base of operations and raid 2 focus on clearing a path towards Shinra Tower (Garlemald's main center for scientific research) with Raid 3, being the finale, focus on ending this long fight by assaulting Shinra Tower.
Gonna just give this a quick bump back up! See you all when they announce a new tank/healer!
My guess is because players have wanted Dancer for a while and are hyped up with the possibility they will instead announce Gun Blade at EU fanfest and if it actually is coming, Dancer at Japan Fanfest.
I hope not but they may very well do so, lol
And god i hope 5.0 will not be another dps expansion
Well Gunblade was teased so it will definitely come now. Dancers were requested pretty much as often as Viera so might as well go full fanservice.
Oh man really hoping for an expansion I can love. HW and SB sucked at alternating things. Can we combine the best of the two?
I'm hyped for the second part of the trailer and hopeful dancer tease. After the last expansion I'm pretty sure they know how bad people want that job.
Why? Just cause every second thread was about how Lyse was totally a Dancer and everybody who says it is monk was stupid? :D :D :D
The good old days. Not sure if the trailer will be the second part literally. But yes, we supposedly will get trailer shots totally absent from the previous one. Makes you wonder how long the actual cinematic will be.
Yep, it was just the duel, to keep the secret of Othard and Hingashi under wraps till the third fanfest.
In their defense, most people quickly speculated Dancer from the beginning of the Stormblood trailer because of what Lyse (who we didn't even know at the time) was wearing in said trailer. I mean seriously. Take another look at the clothes Lyse is wearing and try telling me that doesn't scream "Dancer". It didn't help that she was kicking things off with a dance too. (Which some form of Martial Arts are also known for doing as ways to warm up and stuff) The moment I saw her performing Monk moves though, my heart sank. I pretty much accepted the fact that DNC's chances of getting into Stormblood at that point were pretty low. And I was right. It didn't happen, much as I wanted it too. Stormblood even threw a fair number of teases about Dancer during its time, so that made me fidget a bit. (Looking at you, Kugane, and that named building we can't enter!)
That said speculation from the fanbase did good though IMO. As someone else said on this forum after Stormblood revealed their new jobs: "Well, if they weren't thinking about Dancer yet, it sure as heck is on their radar now." Combine that with the leaks that have been scary accurate so far about most of the things before they've even been officially revealed, and my hopes for DNC as healer for Shadowbringers is much higher then it ever was for Stormblood.
We'll see soon enough though I believe. We've got two fanfests to get through yet, and the one coming up tomorrow will be very likely all about that new Gunblade job, along with the Viera being officially revealed.
I think per the last live letter. I can't remember exactly but the trailer is broken up into three parts. We should get a little more tomorrow and then the full thing in Japan.

I think the Gunblade class will be revealed this time around...and I think it will be a DPS. Call me crazy but I also think Dancer will be the next job revealed and there will be one more job announced at the JP fanfest. I also think that Dancer will be a Dodge tank instead of a healer.
