This could be something we are also steering to. Or perhaps he even ended up at the world of the First. And there, he can't fight light with light.

They pretty much showed all of the events that the WoL was apart of leading up to the calamity and that he must accept the darkness hence the trailer. However I am sure there is a deeper meaning. The question is will there be more to the trailer? In the past they usually break it in parts. But here it looked like the opening trailer for the Expansion completely.

11-17-2018, 07:08 AMAlleoThe thing with Thancres eyepatch is: He is not wearing it because he needs it but because it looks cool. So it could simply be that he finally just stops wearing it. Also the girl seems to have silver hair which would mean that its not Minfilia. I also believe that we are only going to change the history of anything after Stormblood. We are having a fight with Garlemald and learning about the Ascians and might even take them down. If we then even rewrite everything from the beginning than this would be way too much for one expansion. (Also would kinda make a lot of our past doings for nothing but I would have nothing against it if we can save certain NPCs ;)) So maybe we are seeing a vision of the future and thus change to WoD. The bad future with the wasteland and too much Light wont happen thus they dont need to change anything in the world and it would stil make sense to reconstruct Ishgard.Quote:
