well again, coming from a blm that does savage, you understand you can still keep as much uptime as every other job on these fights +/-1% doing your full normal rotation right? THAT is the difficulty, and the fun part of black mage. Its not exactly complexity to think a moment ahead and set up methods to be mobile.
Hey what if ley lines was a thing where we tap into the lines on the ground so where ever we go we are always tapped in to the power. Also it would remove the need for between the lines.

I don't think its about being too strong but rather if it would destroy the identity of the skill.
This is exactly what quite a few of us suggested (either here or on reddit... can't remember now).
Leylines should be an activated spell that functions constantly without a timer... make it move with us? Dunno, but at least have it there for us on the battlefield

Old post but, i killed o10s week one, had 10% something, got frustrated and hid them for a bit out of frustration, they're back up(a long time ago).
But basically what Zerathor is saying is true, you can keep uptime in all fights if you're good enough, the issue isnt the class being difficult or losing dps during movement, the issue is the sheer power of ressurects during progression, thats what phasing us out of most statics.
rez is a bad idea for blm (lor3-wise.... and wasting a SC for rez is too much, besides the dps / uptime lose)
better give blm a "special manashift trait", with reduced manashift CD and extra MP.., even if manashifting is a dps lose, its not that crazy during prog and blm will never run out of MP)
I really like this idea. They should be extra careful with the details of such a trait because of how it may interact with foe requiem though, but I think something like "replenishes 1/3 of the target's mp in exchange for 1/3 of the caster's mp" might work very well.
with that special blm manshift trait (besides shorter manashift CD and increased MP), maybe include/ let mana tick up (just) one or half tick faster than usual (for one / half a tick only) when using manashift or something like that, .. so when giving away a full 3rd or so of all the mana, blm are not too stuck on waiting for ticks too long mids rota .. .. but without taking a cheap advantage of faster manaticks when shifting
This might be OP as hell, but i just had this idea. Trait - Elemental Shift: Replace mana shift with elemental shift. Action - Elemental Shift: You give the targeted player the Umbral Ice buff for 3ish seconds(a server tick). Only usable under UI status with Eno active. Same long cooldown. Possibly no MP to activate but burns an Umbral Heart instead? Is that too much?
