The Will of the Moon

I can honestly understand the problem with having to play a job you don't want to. Its the reason why there are so few skills imo, even though it makes it so brain dead easy and honestly boring. The best part is the ending of the fight which hopefully elevates *issues* hopefully in the next expansion by....bah can't go any further without spoiling it.

The entire point of the fight I would say was the ending of the fight. It sparks theories on how...

I would like to get through it. Twice now when Magnai puts out the axe aoe I can target the axes but they take no damage. It gets tiring having to start from the beginning of a two part fight. SE could have at least allowed the scenario restart at the second fight.

Only hard part is the 2nd fights stupid glitchness (got stuck fighting Magnai at 1% for 16mins the first go, won round 2), 1st fight can totaly suck, cause DPS checks & way way more AoE Spam... thou I did "1&done" her both goes as my MCH (had a panic moment the 1st try on the last part when I saw the "30sec till insta death" hit the screen just went "oh... wait what?.. OH SHIT! welp got not more time for u extras")

It's more annoying to have to redo the 1st fight when the 2nd one fails. With all the axes up it's hard to see anything going on, and I didn't see Hein in some sort of chains. Guessing the final set of axes you CAN'T kill and need to burn down Magnai before they go off, meaning you need to free Hien first....Got too late to mess with again last night for me. Meh. Not a hard fight, just annoying.

I think it's cool that you play as characters that have different jobs.
Now that they removed the cross-class system and there's no incentive to try other classes aside from personal interest it's a nice way of previewing them, if a little basic.

Maybe someone plays this and goes "oh wow that was cool, I didn't know WHM was like that I'll need to level it up sometime"

1. He's...actually a Samurai, I think? Meaning he's not really a tank. He's a tanky dps, but tank he is not.

Probably wouldn't have worked too much, but seeing as Y'shtola is the healer, it would've made more sense downing the one healing the duo. Heck, even ganging up on Lord Hien would've been slightly better, cause Lord Hien didn't move much and the monk had an LB. In fact, Magnai was the tank in his duo. He should've tanked us both.

Imagine when 4 buttons gets too hard for you...

The silver lining for those that don't like that part is that now they know a sliver of what healers have to go through in actual duties.

Wait, you guys killed the axes in the second fight? I honestly just burned Magni the whole time, took the AoE to the face, healed myself to full in one cast, and kept dps'ing him. I had to heal Hien all of once, after the other guy LBed him. Only time I paid any attention to the AoEs at all was the very end when Hien shouted at me to come over to him. Stood in that little circle he made and rode it out perfectly fine.

The glitch, and having to do the annoying first part over if you get said glitch, is the only thing wrong with the quest.

Even when your tank is a DPS, it's still, usually, better to concentrate damage on one target. I've been on both sides of this scenario where the actual tank dropped out and we had to do without. There was one time I tanked most of Halatal Hard as Ninja and there have been several dungeons where I had to heal a dps-tank. And I can say that it's a lot more mana-efficient when there's only one target to heal. Granted, that depends on whether the HPS can keep up with the DPS but in this case... Hien has about 666 billion HP and Y'shtola heals him for half with one Cure. I understand that they set it up this way to make the conversation between Magnai and Y'shotla later that much funnier, but... In practical, numerical terms, Hien would have been totally fine taking both of them on n_n

Magnai's too prideful to believe he'd ever need help one-on-one. He only brought the other guy into the fight at all because Hien was there.

Besides, Y'shtola pretty much burned him by herself at the end.

Yep. Magnai does a sneak attack on Hien and then the Monk charges up a big attack to KO him. It seems to do about 3/4 of Hien's HP bar if he's at full health.

i didnt even bother with the axes...just stand in the middle and after the move, just cast one cure on Hien. All good to go

I thought it was really easy and don't heal I think the "only 4 skills" had players in mind that DON'T main heals or never messed with it. They gave you four very basic skills that are very easy to understand to complete the task. It was a nice eye candy fight.

Lol this took me like 5 attempts. The first bit I tried as a healer until I found it was a bit of a dps race on the 4th phase when fighting her. I then did it as summoner and it was easy.

I only failed the yshtola part once because I couldn’t figure the going to edge bit.

Overall I think there have been harder solo duties.

I don't play healers. I hate them and am terrible with them.

I one shot this fight and never had to worry about Hien. The only time he got low was when he let his guard down and the game gives you a warning. I topped him off, the LB brought him low, 1-2 heals and he back to full again. You have to play a bit more patiently than you are used to, but that's about it.

The only bad part of the fight was Sadu's hammy voice acting. I swear her voice made my ears want to implode.

Is it really that difficult to heal? Just pretend you're doing damage, only the HP bar moves the opposite way. It's 1 click.

4 buttons too difficult plez nerf.. it was such easy fight especially if focus down the monk first then work magnai, I healed hien 3 times that was all, just dot magnai dot monk & stone when can.

Step 1: Throw DOT on Hien's target
Step 2: Pummel the crap out of Magnai
Step 3: ...
Step 4: Continue with story

It really is as simple as that. Keep the DOT on both enemies(you can let it drop too...it's not needed, just helps), heal yourself(don't even have to change targets for this one!!!!), throw the odd heal at Hien(if on PS4, literally just hit D-Pad left/right and it will select him) when needed, and beat down on the enemies. Done, and done.

I would rather they do more things like this, than throw old ways(ie a cutscene that shows them starting a fight, then the after effects of said fight) of how they went through with all this. Innovation, and giving us more hands-on with story elements is honestly the way it should go.

Yes you have 4 skills ... but the fight was scaled for this. If you had 20ish skills the game would require you to perform a lot more.

You get 4 skills so players who have not played a healer dont need to read 20 tooltips.

I crit a 60k cure which puts all normal healers on their own to shame.

When the fight does not bug out its really not that bad.

I really like the new feature where you can play as other characters. It's a little boring that you only have 4 skills, but I guess they had to do that for people who aren't used to the class of the character. Could have given them 6-8 skills though. ^^
Also, as the fight isn't starting automatically, you can read what your skills do before you begin, so you know which one to use when.

Playing as a Conjurer with 4 skills when I know what skills she should have is really annoying. XD Where's my Medica and Holy and Protect? Same with the Alphinaud fight. They didn't even let us control his carby.

I wish that when they have cutscenes between battles that the instance would end and another one would begin. It took me ages to beat Sadu, then I wiped in the first few minutes of the Magnai fight and I have to fight Sadu all over again. DX

The paradox made me lose focus for the first time, but it's a fun and quite easy fight.

I'm very glad the BS "play as the NPC" quests are easy and can be blown through quickly. If i ever had to replay one of those, I'd quit. One per big patch is already almost more than I can handle. I do not play MMOs to play NPC characters.

You can tell the OP is trolling when you click on their profile and it states they enjoy playing AST. And suddenly they have an issue playing as a healer in one simple duty, seriously....

I don't its very hard for me to quit games. However some things I just wont stand for. if my reason for playing is being invalidated every few quests I won't stick around I'll find some game which doesn't pull that ****

I agree with you . I have just cancelled my subscription because of this quest . I didn't have any problem with Sadu in the first part but its when I played Y'shtola I ran into problems . Whatever I did I just couldn't do enough damage in that last minute before the meteor drops . I eventually decided to do it on very easy mode just because I couldn't be bothered being frustrated anymore . On that mode its a cakewalk until you get to that last minute and I still had the same problem I just couldn't kill that last boss . If it had been my own character I wouldn't have minded so much I would have just gone and got some better gear and kept attempting it but given its Y'shtola I couldn't do that . Looking around online it seems a lot of people have quit because of this quest . If you go to very easy mode there should never be a situation where you can't complete a quest that is part of the main storyline . I couldn't advance so I quit the game.

Perhaps in early content, or via some means of failing the content (perhaps echo), there would be enhanced markers. So like a green healer icon marker point to the person. Or on a related note perhaps sometimes role specific markers, like tank buster for tanks is oh gawd red, but for healers it's heal me green. The fight wasn't challenging if you had a sense of what to do, imo, but via a means that isn't too in your face initially it might be helpful for some players.

Could be a new general feature, if echo is available and perhaps also if the team / person dies, libra is unlocked - which greatly enhances combat awareness (and perhaps could be a soft in-game defense against some of the more powerful third party tools). So like cleave attacks would be marked, unmarked attacks.. are now marked, spread markers have improved readability (so you know not to stack the AoEs), etc. The unfortunate part being someone would have to go label those contents properly now lol.

If you look at the character information of those posting in the thread about it being too hard, you'll see that most of them made it to level 80 or 90 so it seems like few actually ended up quitting. Instead they stuck with it until they beat it.

If the game in general has stopped being fun for you, I can understand quitting. But you shouldn't let this one single fight get you down.

First help Hien kill the add attacking him to get it out of the way so you can both focus the boss. Try to keep the boss pointed away from Hien so he's not hit by AoEs.

Now, when you say meteor are you thinking of the axes? The first set is easy - just kill the one in the middle. For the second set, follow Hien. He's going to use a LB to destroy one of them once you move to him (he's going to have a huge arrow over his head, hard to miss). After the second set, it should automatically move into the ending mechanic that Y'shtola handles on her own.

I'm not a fan of the RP encounters myself but they're not that frequent fortunately. Don't be afraid to go to YouTube, enter the quest name and watch the encounter so you know what to expect and perhaps can see some tricks on how to complete them easier.

The only RP encounter so far I've truly enjoyed. Kind of ironic considering how much hate it gets from players who otherwise like the RP encounters.

The only one I really can't stand is the one in Ahm Araeng in Shadowbringers. Don't want to spoil it due to people in this thread who haven't gotten anywhere near it yet, but it drags on way too long.

It's a good idea, maybe on very easy mode it's enabled.

My friend has been stuck on this darned quest for more than a year now. I think he's pretty much given up ever getting it completed. So we spend most days with him tanking Gazelleskin maps (duoing them with me as a healer) or running unsynched extremes (same, duo with me as healer).

He just can't get into his head he needs to heal, and how to do that. Despite me trying to explain. And it's weird as he has no problems throwing a heart of ___ on me in an extreme. Just something about being yifftola freezes his brain. So yeah, I'd love to move on in the game, but yeah, can't do that until he completes "Will of the Moon".

But honestly, I wonder if just splitting this (and others like it) into 2 parts would make it easier.
