SHADOWBRINGERS

Shadowbringers? Sounds like some bad fanfic or a cheesy 80's sci-fi novel you would look right past in the $.25 bin.

I would say I expect more from SE, but...well...I mean look around, they aren't really on top of things when it comes to creativity.

Kinda what I was thinking. Seems to obviously allude to the Ascian presence, but overall sounds weak for an expansion name. Would've expected something a bit more subtle.

Titles usually have a multiple meanings to them.

Heavensward:
1) Reference to Dragoons (Kain in Dissidia shouted Heavensward! when he used his Pride of the Dragoons EX Burst)
2) Flying mounts
3) The Heaven's Ward faction
4) The WoL, having fallen from glory is trying to regain his/her blessing of Hydalyn once more



Shadowbringers might refer to us going to the moon and/or the ascians who are the opposite of the WoL (Which are "light bringers", also the ultimate sword in FFXI was called Lightbringer)

I doubt it (and hope that this wont happen) because we were on the losing side since we had quite a few calamities already. The WoL is kinda bringing the balance back towards the middle ground since we are the crystals last hope. If they suddenly turn around and say that we are just destroying the planet with our action I would kinda facepalm..because "what exactly do we do then? But thats just me.

I'm glad that guy posted the link to the Stormblood name speculation and seeing all the people saying how horrible it is and how it doesn't fit and people saying the same things now. It's very funny to see. lol However, it's time for speculation and fun yay!

I do recall the Stormblood trademark was filed at around this same time two years ago, but I also remember that the Stormblood reveal was just a week after during the NA fanfest that year as well. Might be a bit early this time around. Hmm.

Only Lahabrea, Igeyorhm, and Nabriales are dead. And a few nameless ones. Loghrif, Emet-Selch, Mitrod, Fandaniel, Pashtarot, Halmarut, Emmeroloth, and Deudalaphon are all most likely still alive. While I am pulling from the list of opposing light scions from FFXII, several of them are named in the cut scene that follows your first completion of The Praetorium that never again show up. Pashtarot actually does show up in the scene. All except Lahabrea are unmasked with Igeyorhm being a blue haired midlander female with long hair, and Pashtarot being a blond male with the basic spikey hair.

I would say if ANYTHING, they still have Pashtarot at minimum before they're out of ones who actually have been named, but it's most likely that in bringing him back in, at least 1 or 2 more would also be showcased. They might end up being fodder for Shadow Hunter though.

I wish we could but the funny thing is: Even if we just roam around as adventurers we would still help people by killing monsters and washing dishes...thus creating more light..thus somehow for reasons are doing bad for the realm..so maybe we need more quests were we just kick some puppies (because that is the most evil thing ever) and thus balance!

This name gives me slight hope we're going down a darker, more sinister path. I want kid gloves off in 5.0. Please introduce an enemy that makes me fear for my life rather than being curb stomped by my WoL self easily. Maybe even some inner conflict and repercussions for my actions.

But I really will weep if we're stuck with Cid as our "MSQ Companion" in 5.0. I find him insufferable and too wishy-washy to handle in large doses.

I'm betting Alphy switches sides to the Ascians after finding out the worlds aether is running dry from something we did/do due to the German translation.

that makes me wonder if Shadowbringer doesn't just refer to the Ascians as a whole but to a new generation of Ascians that Elidibus will create ones to refill the ranks and fight the revived Scions which I imagine will include Fordola and/or Arenvald by than.

Not really....I get more of a Darksiders vibe when I hear Shadow Bringers.

The naming scheme so far has been a thing of a thing. A ward of Heaven. Blood of Storms. Where shadow bringers sounds more like a noun, a person or place, or organization.

If it is it though, guess we'll have to call it SB2 - electric boogaloo.

Wait a sec. Running out of Aether. 14 is twice of 7. Seven had aether getting sucked up. 7 is probably gonna be the next sigma scape, considering we had 5 and 6. Everything points to 7.

Is FFXIV just FFVII-2?!

Over at Reddit they got a number of the translations going. The German version mentions the world is running dry, likely of aether. The Japanese translation it's being said implies that something we do throws the world into darkness. Which makes sense considering the previous plot line involving the Warrior of Darkness and Minfilia. I'm guessing she'll be returning at some point as well since we're likely going to do to our world what the WoD did to theirs. Or at least that is the guess.

I dont want to disappoint you put slapping a moogle is seen as a good deed T_T Thus we cant slap them too much, otherwise we will have a flood of light..hmm or is that worth it?

Anyway I can see it being the next expansion name but I dont really like it. But I am also not a fan of Stormblood either.

Well it could also mean that the world is destroyed. And some believe that the second part of the riddle is talking about the Ascians not us. Thus if we let them do what they want they will destroy the world, while the WoL tries to save it. (Since we did not lie in HW and we won in SB)
