The "Something Special" for the next Omega Raid Tier, What if...

see while Sephiroth was a strong warrior as part of project S, and even at his strongest he could use super Nova, he still isn't the strongest villain in the final fantasy franchise,

Kefka was a GOD while Sepha-Sephiroth was just a arch angel in comparison, Kekfa ruled over magic and creation in his story using both those powers to destroy in a beam as slowly as he wished to make people suffer,

plus if we are going to look at other villains from the franchise Ultimecia is stronger then sephiroth due to her being able to compress time and space, even one of her forms quite literally has the fabric of reality going into her,
then you have Bhenivelze a god of creation that created 3 gods under him, governing life and death creating planets, and chaos even with his death he took planets and destroyed them into nothingness, and even created life to take over once they gained souls.
plus you cannot ignore both Chaos and garland from ff1 and the emperor from ff2 who fought eternaly (for chaos) and ruled over both heaven and hell (emperor)

but ignoring the villains then you have the heroes, Cloud beat sephiroth multiple times, Lightning defeted a god, terra killed a god a lot of the heroes are far more powerful then sephiroth, and seeing how omega is fascinated by the anomaly of heroes winning, it wouldn't shock me if we fight THE warrior of light and other heroes in the alpha scape before Omega.


if anything i predict we will fight all previous heroes in one battle from ff1 to ff13 (and maybe ff15) in a nice homage to the final fantasy heroes in one tier of the alphascape, with other tiers being for super bosses like emerald weapon, penance and finally Omega.

Sephiroth and Jenova are one and the same at that point.

It's worth noting that Jenova had been sitting there doing absolutely nothing for decades after Shinra dug it up until Sephiroth went and merged with it.
Prior to that point it showed no signs of any kind of agency, as if the Cetra had turned it braindead when they beat it.

Jenova had basically been reduced to a mindless meatsuit, it's powers were intact and it was technically alive, but it had no agency.
Then Sephiroth came along and moved himself in, merging with Jenova and making it's power his own, and apparantly adopting some of it's goals in the process.

The result is a composite entity with Jenova's body and powers, but Sephiroths will steering the whole thing, working towards a plan that hybridizes Jenovas desire to eat the planet with Sephiroths own God Complex and hatred of humanity.

The "Sephiroth" you deal with in the game is ultimately both Sephiroth and Jenova combined into one entity, as if they had gone full Fusion Dance.

The final fight in the game is against a Sephiroth who is not exactly at his best.
Too make an analogy, it's like a guy who is holding back a freight train, if he moves away the train will start moving again and run him over.
So you move in and start shooting and stabbing him while he is busy keeping the train still, only to find that he is somehow still capable of lashing out and potentially killing you back if you are careless.
Apply this scenario on the metaphysical plane and it's pretty much exactly what's going on for the final battle.

And the movie is, as mentioned, little more than an avatar in the same sense as the possessed super-mooks you occasionally have to deal with in the second entry of the Mass Effect series.

As for his original death, it starts out with him curbstomping everyone before getting backstabbed and impaled on a sword wider than he is while distracted by a moment of what is essentially religious reverence, like sneaking up on a priest praying in front of an altar and putting a knife in his back.
Then he get's back up and wrecks the guy who did it before getting done in by environmental factors when the guy he's stabbing uses his own sword as leverage to drop him off the catwalk, resulting in a Palpatine style plunge into a reactor core...which didn't help anyone since this just let him move into Jenova's body instead, after a 5 year adjustment period.

It should also be noted that said fake SOLDIER is more powerful than Bahamut, by a large enough margin to curbstomp it while terminally ill with the aforementioned Geostigma and deprived of most of his gear.
So not exactly a pushover.

You fight vs sephiroth with 3 people as oposed to Kefka who fights a 4 man party... this is after his first 3 stages (the statues he now controls) have been trashing half your party to death (character dies and isn't revived before phase ends you can't use that character for the rest of the fight which is 4phases long)... one of kefkas statues casts life 3 on its parts (because each statue has multiple parts to kill) making it revive parts when they die...

Because VII has been done to death. I honestly don't know what the plan is. The speculation is heavy on VII because of things like this, but I just don't know. I feel like Omega needs to be defeated in this next tier, and doing a VII themed raid detracts from it a lot. Just look at how many people are "Sephiroth this, Sephiroth that" in this thread. Omega needs to be the focus, and it simply won't be since everyone will be gushing over Sephy. That's not to say they won't still do it, due to the obvious demand for it, but I'd be happy with the focus being on Omega with random foes filling up the other slots.

Maybe we will not fight Omega in this expansion, and this system of Raids will continue for another expansion. I mean, Omega is so Omnipotent, if we manage to kill it, what else would be a threat to us? What else for the other expansions?
I think It will be FF7, then will happen something enabling us to destroy Omega's basement, and he will flee to Garlemald, the next expansion map area. Maybe that it's the meaning of the "Alpha", a new beginning.

This scenario of Omega cappable to bring other FF threats is too precious for SE just to be usable once in a expansion.

The main reason to want FF7 themed fights and to have Sephiroth. One Winged Angel Orchestration. That is all. Still it would be cool to have it, but I do agree Sephiroth would steal the spot light from Omega.

If they did VII, there’s no way they could make Sephiroth/Safer-Sephiroth the third fight and not receive some backlash from it. They’d have to make Omega a fifth fight or a separate fight from the overall tier. Either would be interesting in terms of design since they haven’t done a five-tier Savage since Binding Coil, but making Sephiroth #3 and Omega #4 would probably not sit well with VII die-hards.

Honestly, i hope they do 10.

Sin/Jecht would be fun to fight.

Besides, we have already established that by Word Of God Sephiroth at his best is stronger than Sin, so it would only make sense to do the oversized space whale first.


Also, a fun thing i have been thinking about where Sephiroth is concerned.

The Lifestream typically exists deep beneath the earth, only coming up to the surface in special circumstances, such as in natural springs or when Mako Reactors pulls it up.
Existance in the Lifestream if you manage to retain your conciousness is said be a dream-like state.
As of Advent Children, Sephiroth somehow managing to manifest his full power in the corporeal world would pretty much spell the end of the planet, thankfully Aerith is ensuring this won't happen, with Gaia itself and all the other spirits within the Lifestream ganging up on him and quarantining him, even if they are unable to muster the power to destroy him outright because he's grown too damned strong for that, leading to a stalemate.
He also has a penchant for getting into peoples heads and driving them to madness, as many a Geostigma victim and Cloud found out the hard way.

Combine these facts and you get "Deep beneath the earth, dead Sephiroth lies dreaming, all mortals exposed to him shall be driven mad/Terminally depressed and suicidal, and should he ever wake the world will end"
All that's missing now is a line about the stars being right.

As for who the WEAKEST FF villain is, i would say that's Vayne Solidor from 12.
Even after two power-ups he's just plain lacking in combat ability compared to every other FF villain out there, though he does fall into the short list of antagonists who managed to complete his goal, even if it killed him in the process, a list he shares with Jecht.

Not having Septhiroth fight on par with the others just would be a terrible idea, so if there is a full FF7 set they need to do Omega himself either of the ways you suggest

I completely agree with this. And this is the reason why I think they won't do a Sephiroth fight. As much as I would like an FFVII crossover/battle scenario, the Omega raid just isn't the place for it.

This is the gripe I have with this tier. SE focused too much on fan-service and trying to keep people subscribed but delivered a lack-luster raid. If they really wanted to pander to nostalgia, they should have just kept game specific characters out of this and stuck with entities that could exist in multiple worlds like Exdeath, Zeromus, Chaos or Necron as raid bosses. I feel like Kefka shouldn't have even been a fight in FFXIV as his character is exclusive to FFVI...he's never been said to exist outside of that game and SE just transferring his story to FFXIV just feels odd. They didn't even attempt to fit him into the world of Eorzea. Instead they made it seem like all of the FF games are connected through history of some sort. Them just throwing Sephiroth in there would just as lazy.

Omega should be the final fight...especially after someone who literally destroyed the world and became an actual god.

Actually, another idea: The final boss is going to be Alpha. Your choice of whatever shenanigans bring this about:
Omega decides to see where the strength of your party comes from(whether it's because of Alpha himself lending you battle power inside the sim, or your character).
Alpha is ultimately part of Omega, and he recalls/absorbs/fuses for the fight.
You beat Omega, but this simply means that Alpha is now the strongest component of the 'Scape and immediately takes Omega's place as the master/tester.
*Insert reason that sounds plausible here.*

Then imagine Chocobo (Savage) times 1000.

Given that Omega through the games is the same and always escapes to move onto "another world", I can see this being the 'style' of our final confrontation with him. We won't defeat Omega himself, we'll defeat whatever avatar he decides to put forth as himself, and then he'll escape back into the rift to move onto whatever FF game is next. And, given that Alpha has been alluded to as having secrets we don't know yet, it's not actually as unreasonable/joking as it sounds, although I could see it being done in any number of ways.

I'm yet to see what is the "Never Seen Before in a MMO" feature Yoshida promised for SB's launch so, yeah... maybe now?
