Enable Both Sex's Unsheathed Weapon Poses

I've always loved that female dark knights get Sabers iconic heroic sword-pose (i don't blame guys for being jealous it looks amazing)

I've always resented not being able to do the male lancer pose on my female elezen dragoon

Honestly though I still miss different races having their own combat animation, especially since the spirit dragoon in the 30-50 dragoon quests has the ffxi elvaan combat stance

I hope one day we get eachothers poses, I also hope one day there is a battle stance-style option that can be used, kind of unhappy seeing my characters looking like unrefined hack and slash warriors, especially my elezen >.>

Something like this kind of got me wishing for a system similar to Aion Online's "Motion Card" system where you could equip different cards to your character that changed their fighting, standing, running and sitting animation.

I think that would be a pretty cool feature where we could mix and match the emotes and actions from different races.

I wanted that for some time since female only good poses are drk and sam, females poses are so bad I need a macro to use them, because they all have that dumb smile.

But only Lightning uses a true Gun-Blade. Besides Squalls iconic pose is on par with Clouds for the DRL pose.

Can you also get rid of the WHM's annoying "butt wiggle" weapon pose while you're at it? The wiggle is cute at first but it gets annoying. If I'm on WHM, I want a pose that makes me look gentle, but deadly (can heal but can kick your a$$ with holy or stone spam). The butt wiggle makes me look like I'm looking for a "good time" if you know what I mean. :rolleyes:

I know about the 3 poses, but the butt wiggle is the default for WHM. While I like shaking my catboy a$$ at my enemies sometimes, I would love a default battle pose that looks cooler.

Just because squalls gunblade isn't a ranged weapon doesn't discount the gun part of it. The trigger is used to create a vibration in the blade which makes it deal more damage if timed correctly. So both the gun and the blade are functional.

They should also add more weapon-stance animations. If you've ever noticed male Roes will hold their Axes differently. I'm thinking the stances we have now should be the default and they add unique ones for every race.

I'm the one who had to watch the video to see the differences between all the poses. Just wanted to link that for others who might be in the same boat as me. ^_^;;

I really want one handed pose for everything, ale poses are just cooler overall

Glad to be made aware of this thread. Yes. Please. I love the male GLA/PLD and PUG/MNK stances. Females feel too "pin up."

Would love this for all emotes in general, so disappointing how they're gender-specific.

The female DRK pose looks so much cooler than the male version in my opinion.

Please! I play a Female Miqo'te, and I have a really cool glamour that makes me feel like an epic Dark Knight. But the Female unsheathed pose feels so off putting to me. I want a Dark Knight that looks ready to fight, and capable of resting their blade on their shoulder rather than the ground.
Plus, the male pose feels far more edgy, which is fitting for a DRK. The female pose doesn't feel edgy to me. Just more like a knight resting their blade at the front lines just before a large-scale battle begins.
I'm going for more 'Dark' and less 'Knight'.

This has been requested for the longest time and always seems like it gets overlooked. I've been wanting the female DRK pose for my male since forever.

I'd love to be able to use a not trash male unsheathed animation for MNK.

Also, slightly off-topic... But it would be neat if we could opt for ROG animations over NIN.

Also, also... Would be neat if SCH and SMN got different animations.

It isn't just DRK's male pose I want, but also DRG and SAM.
I'm sure many others want different poses as well.

Back to playing a little DRK again, and still REALLY REALLY REALLY want to see this happen. Expansion would've been a good time to implement this, but sadly it didn't happen. :(

I wouldn't mind it but doubt they're going to do the animations for all these. Keep in mind, this is animations for every job they would have to apply to every race.

My only gripe is I wish the 'gunblade on shoulder' pose was the cpose option for gunbreakers (both genders) not the standard drawn pose.

Now is the time! They've already said they're not adding anymore races to the game, and it'll be awhile until we get new jobs now with the expansion having just launched. :D

I'm not talking about existing races. Combining viera/hrothgar into one, that's seven races they need to add animations for. Seven races times what, seventeen jobs now? That's 119 new animations to make in total to give both gendered animations to all races for every job.

I'm not misunderstanding you either, just saying the work load for this request isn't going to get any lighter than it is RIGHT NOW. I'm not going to pretend to know, as I don't work on games, but from my layman's perspective...the animations already exist, and to me it would just seem they might need to make small tweaks here and there for the different frames of each race's opposite sex. Each sex of each race already has the same weapon pose animation, so without knowing any better, in my mind it would seem they made the animation once for each sex, and applied it to each race's frame, and tweaked minor issues from there, if there even were any. /shrug ...I don't know, I don't do this kind of work, wish I did, it would be a heck of a lot more fun than what I have to do every day...but regardless of the work involved, it doesn't change the fact that I want to see this happen. It may be relatively simple, it may be hard as hell, but I'm still suggesting this.

That would be nice. My biggest worry about the whole "Make race/gender-based clothing and emotes for everyone" is that it takes away from any sense of individuality. This seems like it would encourage it as it has players mix and match emotes to better suit their own style. Plus it seems good for rp.

Like, the thought of "you must be this gender to stand this way" just seems silly to me. Same with hairstyles but eh... doubt that'll ever change.
