I really don't care about you or your opinion at all.

Next thing you know they will want to start putting the iconic FF characters in dresses, like Cloud. Could you imagine the outrage?!?
You all forgot the best one

Am I the only one who reads that, and this thread in general, and has this playing in my head? Just me? Ok.
miss the point where op said "NPC in gold saucer" not you having a fever dream of males wearing skirts all over eorzea (the amount of roe/miqote/highlanders players i see do this anyway).
i doubt a few NPC in gold saucer is gonna be this lore breaking thing come on now.
only if that's your thought process ;).
You should, because you're not changing any hearts or minds with that attitude. You're yelling loudly and angrily, and on the internet that just makes you an easy target.
That's not how you gain support - that's how you end up in an echo-chamber.
Fair enough. I'm not against NPCs in the gold saucer wearing it. I wouldn't mind if this was a gold-saucer event, or if it was part of a new GATE. Nor would I particularly mind if male NPCs wearing bunny suits in this area start showing up. But the principle the vast majority of people on this thread are putting forward, which to quote a few would be "just to piss people off", is a horrible reason to do -anything- and I still think it's bad precedent to do any change just because inclusivity.
I hate having to repeat myself, but I swear people don't read the whole post when they disagree with the underlying opinion in it. Counterproductive.
Since you're really adamant about me noticing you, please learn how to read before you argue on the internet. Thanks.
This thread just reminds me that individuals who are like you, who hold such reactionary knee jerk feelings to a topic like this, really aren't worth putting up with. Done it enough IRL, and all it leads me to believe is your words aren't worth the air or space they're spoken in or typed on.
"because itd offend me!!!111" is all you're saying and it's stupid.
There's a male-only Xaela tribe who kidnaps other males to replenish their ranks, who were going to kidnap Hien, and y'all are sleeping about complaining about it.
Also, everyone should go see this and be cleansed.
Consider the following: This is not going to happen and that exaggeration is silly.
Equally silly what ifs: all Ishgardians will be forced to wear pigsuits after completing HW, all domans in the enclave are assigned bunny outfits by Rowena, every duskie in the shroud will suddenly be decked out head to toe metallic gold clothes, every scion will be replaced by a lala model...
What if we want a change cause we'd think it'd be funny/sexy/etc? Would any of those be "valid" reasons?Quote:

I'm not blind to how silly it sounded. That's my point though, I'm more opposed to it as a matter of principle rather than just because "agh, oh no they are including something I didn't want!"
And yes, those would be better reasons.
(those other ideas are hilarious, I'd pay to see an event like that take place)
I'd be kinda offended if I saw men in skirts before additional non-straight hair styles (corn rows, braids, dreads, etc.) were added for men.
It's SE's game and they can dress their NPCs in however way they want and I will still continue to support it.
With that said, that outfit looks abominable on males.
Hello, you rang? :3
1. Sometimes that's not a good thing.
2. Like drawing porn?
3. Comedy.
Uh, there's more likes towards posts advocating for the change, than those against it. Pretty sure the majority has decided.
I really wouldn't mind if they made some NPCs like this in the Saucer; I honestly don't care. If anything, I'm also one of those of the opinion that they should do it just to spite those vehemently against it and harboring double standards.
Having said that though, I kind of get the subtle feeling that the camel's proverbial nose has been let into the tent.
The current tank tome piece is a skirt FYI
While I wouldn't necessarily ask for NPCs in the gold saucer to be changed (simply because I don't think the issue is big enough to devote resources to changing NPCs) I do think that gold saucer event NPCs could definately make use of it, especially Godbert. At the end of the day, its a gold saucer glamour, it fits there regardless of your bigoted attitude towards what people are "meant" to wear.
At any rate, this thread is a trainwreck.
Successful troll is successful. Gentle reminder not to feed if he decides to come back.
If we're judging by sexual appeal (which is fair given the type of outfit we're talking about), then it looks abominable on everyone except male Highlanders and lady Roes in my opinion. If I was grand master of XIV like some people ITT wish they were, I'd ban every other race/gender combo from wearing it just to suit my sensibilities!
As to the topic, if they add a male NPC in the outfit, cool. If not, oh well. As stated above I don't think it looks good on most people so I don't really have a stake in it. Changing existing NPCs might ruffle too many feathers -the replies at the mere idea of it in this thread alone speak to that- but if they add some new ones later that'd be fine. Apparently there are new attractions coming to the Saucer so that would be a good opportunity.
I think I've said this a hundred times now but if you don't like it, that's okay. You're absolutely allowed to feel that way. But using your feelings as a reason to deny other people's requests is outright stupid and selfish.
Requests for more male non-straight hair styles (braids, dreads, etc.) have been around longer than requests for non-gender locked clothing or skirts on men in-game.
This is why i said i'd be kinda offended if I saw men in skirts before updated hair styles for men (skirts and wardrobe having been brought up many times earlier in this thread). Didn't think I needed to explain this but there you go Mr. Insults.
Honestly given everyone's favorite male sailor scouts squatting their way to stardom in the Event Square, I don't think this would at all be out of place. Especially since if I recall their male trainer is wearing /much/ less.
It /really/ is. I'm surprised people are so upset over male bunnies when there's practically bondage gear in the game for both genders. If the sight of male bunnies is so offensive I'd have hated to see their reaction to most of the ARR leveling gear. SO MANY LEATHER SPEEDOS.
It is rather interesting and I feel it's mostly just people on the forums who cry foul (making them the vocal minority) and not those in game (the silent majority. Most FFXIV players most likely don't care if a male NPC or two is given the bunny outfit). I used to have my Roe in a leatherman-type glamour (people assumed it was a Village People cosplay. It's not. It's just what I like) and people complimented me on the glamour either in dungeons or (since it has been awhile) Idylshire... oh and the summer event when we got the shirt I have my Roe wearing in the picture linked.
I have not received any negative feedback from wearing that glamour (and I wore it for pretty much the entirety of HW).
1. are you even doing anything other than calling ppl w different sexual tastes than yr own creepy lmao.
2. we just got a waifu dress-up minigame and y'all whining about dealing with maybe some dudes having their asses out is fucking incredible. Just admit you're all misogynistic, homophobic little gremlins who think nothing of all the half-naked female characters we've got running all over the place but the idea that some gratification might go somewhere that isn't you is making you clutch your pearls and squeal in horror.
3. honestly, lalafell get more sexualization in this game than adult male characters. THAT'S really fucked up.
So if we don't want men dressing like women, we need to change every female npc into women's clothing and take them out of men's clothing. I mean, we gotta be consistent. If men can't wear women's clothes, then women can't wear men's clothes.
The majority is almost always wrong.
If the majority would be right, Lady Gaga/Lionel Messi/Brad Pitt, would've been president by now. Humans have a bias for groupthink and as a result readily accept any prevailing wisdom.
At one time or another, the majority believed that public hanging is OK, women are weaker in everything, men should never ever cry, US would never have a black president, you get the idea by now...

Sums up this whole thread
Instead of a niche guy in a bunny outfit in the casino suddenly appearing, I second the motion of visiting a new area where the dress for both genders are androgynous. Best way to introduce something new is to make it plausible that people dress like that globally.
For example, you go to X new local and hey all wear loose tunics like these:

Girls that want get their dresses
Guys that want get their dresses
No one complains since they're ALL dressed like that over there and it's the norm.
Good point
