The bunny suit was a counter to the Gambler suit being unlocked to females in the first place, it was already a balancing act. Furthermore, the bunny outfit is not a named NPC's signature outfit. If they don't even let us dye those outfits, I doubt they're going to gender-unlock them any time soon.
If they do, however, I want Y'shtola's HW getup. I love her top. Oh and Lyse's first SB getup :D
1. Purposely keeping PLD, WAR and DRK unbalanced when they could have been easily balanced at the launch of Stormblood. Also, removing some of DRK's more usual abilities behind that move selecter thingy all tanks have access to.
2. Not treating SAM or BLM as selfish damage dealers and stupidly flip flopping around or plain ignoring their stats to the point where both MNK and RDM can out damage them.
3. Not unlocking Hilda or Lyse's hair for us to use for our characters.
4. Not auto tucking long hair within or behind large collars and whatnot like they did with hats.
5. Not keeping old dungeons, raids and boss fights relevant. It's just a waste of data that's just piling up the more people beat and never play them again. Like Bahamut Coils or Alexander.
Perform.
I know some people love and have fun with it. But since the question is "uneccesary", they took time developping that feature, but justified themselves for not fixing other feature they "don't have time".
Yeah, this was the best thing out of the entire 4.3 story. I rather SE just "kill off" the WoL from the story because I'm sick and tired of watching others die around me, all because I just stood there. Alphinaud has more than earn the right to replace the WoL in my book.
A few of the more problematic things at the top of my mind:
- Introduced cutscenes in dungeons. Because there are absolutely no problems to be foreseen there.
- Gated storylines behind early solo instances.
- Diadem. All of Diadem.
- Blocked /tells within instances.
And, next, an absurd thing:
- Introduced all manner of ridiculous flying mounts, while still arguing that certain mounts can't fly because they'd have to come up with an animation.
Oh, one more: a 1000-character limit on forum posts that can be evaded entirely by editing a post after the fact. Seriously, SE. What the hell.
Locking new hair behind pvp and lord knows what else since we don't know when the other new hair will be available, and not giving us anything else to compensate for it.
Making ridorana lighthouse greed only. I really dont get why, twice now I have had tank boots dropped that I need and both times someone else have gotten it, despite the fact that im the only tank in the party. I dont know what retard decided this was a good idea but he/she needs to get slapped.
altered the animation of the /sit emote while fishing for female Lalafell.
yes there was an issue when you were wearing a short skirt and you could see some skin... :x however, every skirt is bugged since then and does a weird animation after you landed a fish. and i want the tiny stool back! D:
they should just fix it properly instead of going the lazy way by taking away the tiny stool.
4.0 PvP changes.
Honestly I wish they'd add more. PVP is fairly interesting to me and I wish I had more reason to do it without having to brave insanely long queue times. Especially when those queue times often lead to me ending up in an 8-man alliance for things like Frontlines. 8 man Shatter is something I'd rather never experience again if I could help it.
Punishing the players for asking for certain mounts (Tigers, hellhounds, fenrir...at least Fenrir is more reasonably attainable now)
Want a tiger? It will probably take you years of non-stop hunts dedication.
Want a hellhound? Not available anymore but even if it were, only the top 100 Feast players (read: 30 really good players and 70 alts) could get them.
Same with Aulus' chair currently.
Fenrir was atrocious to grind for in the early days of the Saucer but you used to get a handful of MGP and Chocobo Challenges didn't award MGP like they do now.
It's like every time we ask for a nice mount, they think up some ridiculous grind or ludicrous carrot to get it. I get that it shouldn't be handed out like candy, but at least with the birds and wolves you could either attain it in time or hope that RNG blessed you.
Not adding any new race tracks for Chocobo racing but adding Chocobo racing duty finder.
still won't make me PVP. everyone having access to, and everyone doing are two different things. a lot of my friend group cringes and curls their nose when "pvp" comes up. it's not for everyone and adding these items don't make...people want to do it more. those people that don't like pvp aren't going to start playing because of "new goodies" exclusive to PVP.
I think this was hinted at up above, but the dye system always makes me scratch my head.
They have a dye system in place, but then they release glamour items that come in two forms - one dyeable, one non-dyeable. What on earth is the point of that? To be fair, I don't think they've done this the last patch or two, but I'm not in game to double-check ATM
We have 50 flower head pieces on the MB, because instead of making each base model dyeable, they had to create a separate item for each color. WHY??!
Quite a bit of new gear is still undyeable as well. A good portion of the time the undyeable items use colors that are completely unique and impossible to match with the dyes in game.
People who bang on about the currency tab not having literally every currency in it really need to give their head a shake. Why do you all seem to have such a hoarding problem? The only currencies taking up space this patch, which you should be using as you gain enough of them, are Sigma pages, alliance coins, and whatever primal totem you're farming. There is no reason to be holding on to your 4 Bismarck totems, or that Precision Gordian Bolt that's been stuffed in a retainer since 3.1. Have some self control and learn to manage your inventories better.
Removing dungeons from the expert roulette and making sure expert roulette is only 2-3 rotating dungeon. Gosh.
The creation and establishment of the mentor system along with the Novice Network, was really unnecessary and a waste of resources.
Adding all the Scion and outfits to mogstation. They could have easily added them in-game as reward items for beating the game or a special quest you did with one of them.
Players can always manage something better, however, SE took it upon themselves to start expanding upon the currency tab by adding new items to it. It has potential to be a great QoL change, however, they stopped after only a few additional items (beastman items and ventures). These are items that players could easily use in a timely manner to clear out their inventory or discard if they no longer had use of them, and yet SE still added them to the tab. It feels rather half-assed at this point.
...add insult to injury by naming the area we fight Construct 7 in called "The Cleft of Profaning Wind." I mean seriously. Also the moogle sings "If I could walk 5000 yalms."
setting up new systems, like the Grand Companies and not keeping up with them. They start more new "forms" of content but don't carry them on or continue with their stories.
Also putting random items freaking everywhere. Trying to collect hairstyles or certain items is a nightmare. Want something? Be prepared to find the new random NPC in some random spot with a random mark log with a random currency you have to farm for random amount of days because it would be too serene to use the 50 current methods already implemented.
Greed only is also pretty bad. RNG is never a good design choice imo.
Telling me they don't want to make cool interesting Summons for Summoner because it would ruin it if everyone had the ability to summon a big thing. Yet mounts get bigger and bigger with more and more animations and effects, even Carbuncle. I'm surprised Ifrit's not a mount yet.
Making moogles unbearably annoying with the nonstop quests in Heavensward. I had NEVER hated the moogles EVER until having to go through all their quests at that time. Now, anytime I look at a moogle other than the ones from FFXII get the urge to punt kick them into orbit.
As a newish player...I'm enjoying reading these posts and sensing years of frustration in each comment. Lets me get a feel for what lies ahead.
I could be wrong, but I imagine that people who don't read official forums may be better off in the long run. For better or worse, the forums are a place where people come to air annoyances, and if it's all you read, it can give you a fairly negative outlook of the game. Much like watching the news. It's all doom and gloom, at least per the news networks, but the world isn't half bad ;)
Of course some good comes out of this place as well, just try and form your own opinion of the game without getting weighed down by the complaints.
Oh yeah I know exactly what you mean. I'm a long time vet on another current MMO and almost everything we say in forums is filled with bitterness due to all the bad game changes we lived through. I'm able to see through.
Like you said tho, any players reading those forums would be very misinformed if they passed judgement based on those comments. Still though, it's helpful for me. It's cool being the fresh player for once, not having been here from the true start.
Lots of people do PVP for the rewards though?
Everyone can access rewards from Ultimate trials and raid content but not everyone is going to do that either so I really don't understand your point on that.
Back on topic:
These forced UI elements for each job are honestly just annoying, most of the jobs don't need them and it just feels forced.
