Oh. Um. Bye... I guess.
56 days?
Isn't that enough time for two full content patches?
Op just out of curiosity are you intending to play the last 56 days?I mean if really dont enjoy playing something that much i wouldnt still spend 56 days playing after canceling subscription.
This really does feel like more of attention grabbing thread. It would hold some actual credibility if it was actually close to your sub running out.
Honestly, if you're tired of SE's current formula, then I would recommend to never touch another MMO. Every MMO out there is basically an EverQuest clone. The formula hasn't been changed since the inception of MMOs over 20 years ago.
Honestly OP... if you came to the forum... you wanted people to talk you back into the game.
So I will attempt to do so. XIV just like FFXI. Has never been just about straight content grind. Its about the social bonds you made within the server itself.. if you didnt feel that in your home... come to me in Hyperion and Ill show you what social fun can be about along with a mix of other games too. Thats what my community does. We play XIV but we do login together on other things. (We are right now at this moment looking at that Halo 3 PC thing to try)
Who really cares if this thread is useful or useless? Anyone can post whatever they want on the forums and last I checked, most companies actually do like it when you stop using their service if you take a moment to explain why. Maybe if MORE people did this, the company could assess the problems their game has more closely. But as it stands, so few people do it.
I actually care when people leave and state the reasons why. Just take a look at the other topic, similiar to this.
That OP said the same reason as this OP. The formula is the same for 4 years. This game was great in the beginning.
But, people probably just drop and say nothing because there's others who be like "Okay no one cares."
Well they cared enough to post soooo. Is it really worth even saying it?
I wish SE cared like I do. I wonder what JP feel about the current state of the game.
You're thinking of WoW.
SE offers no such survey, or if they do it's super barebones with no kind of text entry to explain yourself. I can't remember what it said the last time I unsubbed (game was unplayable) but I don't remember it being a detailed process. Pretty sure it was just "ok we took your credit card off, see ya."
Bear in mind too that a forum mod would have to sift through all these threads to gather up the reasons why people are leaving the game, then that all has to be translated and sent to Japan where it can be ignored in the order in which it was received.
It is pretty simple, Japanese players in education tends to be much busier that Western players. (All Asians to the matter of fact)
Their playing time is dramatically reduced after all the exams and school activities.
Their players in employment also tend to have longer working hours than Western.
To them, this premium service is a win-win.
Why do people need to post about this on the forums I wonder? It became a thing that we need a "I canceled my subscription Megathread!".
Doesn't SE ask you the reasons behind you canceling your subscription? (I never did so idk).
Like I said I couldn't remember if there was no survey at all or if it was super barebones.
I'll probably find out soon enough myself though, I'm pretty close to unsubbing too. Besides not being able to play in the evenings (a problem SE flat out refuses to do anything about), I'm also not having all that much fun AND the 4.3 announcements have me feeling pretty negative about the game overall.
It asks for your general reason for quitting (financial, game related, personal), but doesn't let you go into specifics like what aspects of the game made it not worth paying for anymore. Unfortunately I can't post an image. If you are subscribed you can try it yourself and just not finish the process.
I kinda like what wow has where you fill out a survey, and at the end they ask "do you really want to make the peon cry" a couple times. Any rate good luck OP there's still quite a few mmo's out there (tera, bns, bdo come to mind), and I'm sure there's at least one launching this year or next. Best thing about gaming is that you can take breaks but it'll still be there.
Really? The formulae is very much different than it was 20 years ago even on the most fundamental of levels.
In virtually every old school mmo for example the game revolved around the world or universe in which it was set. In virtually every modern one the game revolves entirely around the player. That one fundamental difference changes everything else entirely. And is why many players of ffxiv often complain eorzea is shalloe dead and lifeless.
It's also why when people talk about old school elements or endgame ideas they'd like to bring into xiv or such players often come out and say such an archaic system wouldn't work in modern mmos because things are so different now than they used to be.
The formulae has changed quite considerably over the years. Even the pace. Modern mmos literally throw loot and rewards at you and have you throwing them away every other week.. they're also basically single player games in that you can do pretty much everything with no social connections whatever
It's a re-vamp. Chechk out this vid. So far the best one even if it is subjective. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xWbkV68bK0
