Why Should YOUR Server Live & Not Be Unplugged?

When they announce that Karnak's characters are moving to Selbina, I will make a character named Rydin Reach and name a linkshell after yours. Then you'll understand at least part of the difference. ^^

Best case scenario... name priority is given to whomever made the character first (Which is what it looks like they are going to do)

Worst case scenario... I change my name... not the end of the world
I'd probably choose something super lame like Hope Estheim or Sissypants McBoner or something along those lines

All servers will merge into one :P

I'd like Trabia to merge with Besaid for several reasons.

A) I know many who are trying to escape me wish to move there. (Muahahaha)

B) I can bow to Answa Martes' feet.

C) Some of my LS members can get their RP out of their systems.


Trabia has a good population though. So, I highly doubt we will get the plug. :(

Honestly, I'd wanna see Lindblum survive because, like someone else pointed out, "it's my server". It's also not that big of a deal to me. If my server is the emptier cup and gets poured into another, I'll just hope for something from a Final Fantasy I enjoyed more. I joined Lindblum because it was the server my first LS was joining. (I'm now the only active member on that LS, and I keep the pearl for the memories)

So... if Lindblum burns, here's hoping for something from IV, V, or VI :D

Wutai will live because it's a reference to FF7 >.>

But seriously Wutai seems to have the lowest population :C Which servers like Red Wizards?

I wish Rabanastre would merge with Besaid, then they could just shut down all the other servers.

Just get me out of this depressing prison pretending to be a server. There's pretty much only a handful of desperate people with LV50 in every single fighting/crafting left, and trust me - they're pretty arrogant / miserable about themselves. They live in their small Linkshell clusters. Outside of them: talking, grouping, or trying to befriend people is strictly prohibited.

I hope they blow mine up.

Nah, Rabanastre can stay as is.

My server should not be unplugged because it super populated compared to others, and if they have to merge it another server, that server needs to be tiny!

Honestly I don't like the idea of server merges, I would rather just have server transfers for free. Its not fair to say "you have to leave your server and go into this server you know nothing about", but it happens, instead it should be like "for limited time, we can transfer your character to another server if you want", this may not be possible because whoever programmed our game initially hates programming (so obvious!)

This, excpet Besaid would merge with Rabanastre (We're prettier). I think the devs said that if it wasn't for the awesomeness of the people on these servers they would have turned off the lights and closed the doors a long time ago. I'd link the post for proof only well, it doesn't exist.

I agree with your sentiments with respect to FF7 :D

Actually more like Wutai has lots of room to host our new residents. Plus we are not an offensive lot, we're good forum citizens.

i'd like to see the smaller servers combined more than i would want to become part of a larger server. the smaller servers are more friendly towards others compared to the bigger servers i had characters on. the small servers have been more willing to share pops on nm's and actually jump on the help others out. i'd like it if they were just merged together as i'd hope alot of the players would still treat others the way they had been on the smaller servers.

i just feel that if the people from the smaller servers get moved to the larger servers they will be treated more of outcasts where if it was a group of smaller servers combined they would have more unity.

Don't get why you need to role play further when your already playing an RPG... I guess it's like the difference between the people that go to Comicon in jeans and a t-shirt and those that go in a fully decked out costume.

I don't think we'll see PC and PS3 servers

What we will see is a server merge now to fewer actual servers...
so at 2.0... they'll reopen the previously unused servers... but not allow serve transfers
So new servers will only be for new players

That is where most of the PS3 players will congregate... however, nothing is stopping a PC player from making a new character on one of the new servers

Microsoft wanted the XBox release to be on Xbox only servers and that is one of the reasons there will be no Xbox release. So I can't see them going to PC and PS3 only after making a statement like that

There's a reason there are RP rule set servers in other games. Some people like to RP their characters and make up elaborate stories, plot lines, arcs, etc for them and it's hard finding a lot of other people willing to do that on non-RP servers, which is why there are official and unofficial RP servers so these people can all go to a single server together and join in the RP without having to worry about not finding other RPers.

Try playing on a PVP server in WoW, then a RP server, there is a huge difference even if the game is an RPG. :)

Wutai needs to be canned :)

I think my server should stay because one made to many friends on it got a deadly Linkshell and besides all that it's the dam centrenl party server, and SE arent the police so they can't shutdown our PARTY!!!!!!!!!!!!
