(at a guess for actual scoring mechanism: 2 + 2 + 15 + 15 + 20 = 54)

The cloche looks like a straw hat but the crafting recipe uses silk, so I thought it might pass... also it was cheap on the marketboard.

The black dye on everything else was a leftover from a 'black and white' dress code for an eternal bond ceremony I attended.

Here's what I wore to get 83. Top is dyed pure white and skirt is dyed jet black.

Also don't forget to wear gear in the non-hinted slots, it seems like you get penalized heavily if you have nothing in those slots at all. (Someone else's screenshot): https://i.redd.it/jnwpktgewrd01.png

Also I'm quite surprised the Halonic Ring turned out to be the right answer, I was so sure the Eternity Ring was the one hinted at. Which is good since whoever is thinking up the hints seems to be putting in more than ordinary effort, and I guess they're staying away from exclusive items not everyone might have like the eternity ring.

I'm guessing maybe Moogle Slippers, Falconer's Shirt, Songbird Hat (male version), any vault ring and long plain skirt would work for the boys, but the cost of that item has sky rocketed on the MB. I trust you all horded those dress materials. xD

The shirts already cost millions on my server so I had to improvise. Here's how I got 81 points despite only having a 2 star shirt:

Falconers Shirt needs to be Pure White. Plain Long Skirt needs to be Jet Black. This would have put them both at gold.

I don't like to be cynical, but it sounds like they may be encouraging us to buy cash-shop dyes....

And of course... us guys have no way of getting gold w/ the shoes. I tried anything I thought was cute and did Metallic gold like the ladies have been with bridesmaid ones... and to no avail. Moogle slippers were the highest I could get.

To get 80 (the threshold for the weekly reward), you do not have to use any rare dyes.

Here I used the Songbird Hat, Ramie Shirt, Yasha Hakama of Casting (scores higher than the upgraded Asuran Hakama of Casting), Bridesmaid's Sandals (in Dalamud Red), and the Ishgardian Historian's Ring.

Also, this is an awful set Mr. Masked Rose, your taste is terrible. :(

To unlock Kasumi's additional wares, do you have to get a perfect score?

I'm a bit worried about Kasumi's shop. It was said that the more you participate, the more items you'll unlock in that shop. Does that mean you can unlock them even if you don't get a 80+ score?

The way the live letter and patch notes made it sound, is that overtime it would unlock new items.

Songbird Hat dyed Snow White (Got Gold)
Falconer's Shirt dyed Snow White (Got Gold)
Asuran Hakama of Healing dyed Soot Black (Got Gold)

How are the Halonic Rings "Friends to the End"? Because they're Ishgardian and we became allies with them (but only after HW)? Because you get them from a dungeon, where you could die, i.e. "End"?
I tried it with the Eternity Ring, the Gridania Ring, and Meteor Survivor Ring, and all of them got Bronze.

Do you need to use pure white/black dyes?

I have my retainers out constantly and get them so rarely that there is no way I want to waste them on throw away gear. Nor do I want to spend up to 700k on a pot of dye for throwaway gear.

If SE wants up to use pure dyes instead of regular dyes, coupled with the rarity of them, they are definitely trying to encourage cash shop sales which is a step in a dangerous direction and this game is just another doa gold saucer game for me.

If you would have read anywhere in this thread, or else where. It's been answered and shown several times you can achieve the thresh-hold of an 80 score without needing rare dyes.

No, the Snow White and Soot Black Dyes work fine.
Someone on reddit said they were able to use Millioncorn Yellow instead of Metallic Gold for the shoes.

The hint has to do with the House Fortemps insignia on it, and Haurchefant's role in HW. It looks like some hints will be straightforward (like the skirt), while some will be story related like this.

what are the coloured seals i'm seeing on some of the caps? they're too small, i can't read them lol

You can use a ring from Dusk Vigil as well, which is pretty close to the beginning of HW.

Managed to get an 82 using no rare dyes and pretty cheap clothes. Whole thing cost me about 20k in mats (I crafted the shirt myself.)

Just the item's rating. Gold seal is perfect, red seal is 4 stars, blue is 3 stars. Dunno about other colors.

Wow, the pts from the ring must be a huge deal because I got 4/5 gold. the only thing that I didnt have was a halonic ring. Everything else I scored gold coins on. My score was 79 -___-;

Jeebus! That seems a bit strict! I have one more shot at it, but I dont think I wanna do the Vault just for a ring but I guess I will have to if I want an 80 or higher.

Update:
Here's what I used and scored an 85 on my last attempt.

Song Bird Hat - dyed Pure White (this one doesnt need to be dyed it seems but mine already was)
Falconer's Shirt NQ - dyed Pure White
Plain Long Skirt NQ - dyed Jet Black
Bridesmaid's Shoes NQ - dyed Metallic Gold
Halonic Conservator's Ring (obtained from The Vault - any Halonic ring will work)
Remaining slots were filled using my WHM gear set (Make sure you have some kind of gear in every slot or it will deduct points)

All of this resulted in 5/5 Gold (max points)

It seems that colour was a big influence. using the much cheaper Snow white dye is getting very good results in the reddit thread, just like pure white dye.

And your other slots, though not judged still count.

well, looking at some Japanese sites for shoes the spring dress shoes or artisan sandals dyed honey yellow seem to give gold rating too.

Is there any other ring that will work? I have neither from dusk vigil or vault?

why not just run dusk vigil unsync? the first boss chest can give rings, i got mine first run and you can just leave after the first boss and start over.

Okay, massive problem that I can see is that the gauges for how each piece is scored is not clear, or not useful in which case they should not be there. Going from something that under no circumstance matches the criteria to something that may does not seem to have an effect and it not clear as to why this occurs. The feedback definitely needs to be clearer. It's a decent start, but needs a little more UX work.

It's the Hannish Wool Autumn Shirt and on most servers it's gonna be about a million times more expensive than the falconer's.

Additionally, it would be nice to continue getting appraised even if you can no longer get a high score just to see how the different results vary.
