They probably look different to me on a Lala.

Housing scalpers are going to post I quit threads for the next several weeks after this, it's a needed adjustment. Too many selfish players and dead FCs getting houses. The account limitation should of been implemented from the get go, better late than never.
MNK adjustments... wow, Riddle of Wind giving GL is a game changer(I was asleep, so I don't know if it's one stack or three), and we get to share the effects of Brotherhood. Mantra cooldown and PB cooldown reduction, yes please. I was already changing mains to NIN so I can raid without getting kicked from parties but these buffs might make MNK a strong choice. Maybe they might give an increase in potency to Brotherhood, I mean Trick and Litany do so much more still.
Man...I just picked up SMN and their AOEs seem to be getting unnecessary nerfs. In ST fights, it's not much of a problem, yes, but good grief this is not what I expected. Same with PLD...don't understand the damage nerf.
So we've come full circle then - it was the same in the changeover from 1.0 to ARR - WAR was more powerful than PLD in 1.0, then when ARR launched WAR ended up nerfed and PLD was buffed, WARs then complained. SE eventually buffed WAR and nerfed PLD. SB is launched, WAR is nerfed and PLD buffed. And the cycle just repeats itself.
Still, I'm hoping this nerf only really applies to Sword Oath as it would make more sense to nerf the DPS stance than the tank stance which already has a DPS drop by design.
SMN AOE is absolutely insane atm, I ran Skalla with a friend the other day and they were spiking 18k DPS on trash, at i310 lol
As for PLD, it also makes sense. You shouldn't be able to do more DPS than a DRK and be so close to WAR considering you have a much easier rotation, crazy strong cooldowns and the best utility set of all tanks.
Hmm...I haven't ran too many dungeons on SMN...mostly run trials and Savage on the job.
I don't know about the whole thing with PLD, because we have a situation like this where PLD is constantly going through buffs and nerfs with almost every other patch. Rather than nerf the job, just buff the DRK to get them up to par.
If some have not seen the trailer i am sure Mr Happy has it or dualshockers do

Im not defending them, but typically you don't implement rules/laws retroactively. At the time they were breaking no rules. It would be odd to punish them for doing something they had every right to do back then. If so you can imagine a lot of fighting on the forums from housing owners.
That's likely why, this SMN nerf is mostly directed at dungeons since there aren't many AOE phases on Trials/Savage.
I think the thing with PLD is that even after they nerfed Holy Spirit at the last patch, it's still too strong on the DPS side of things. Just bringing DRK up wouldn't really solve this problem.
That insanely high number is actually a bug with the plugin, the person in charge is aware of the bug but doesn't know how to fix it. The spike is caused by DoT simulation which has always been problematic.
The bug is random so you'll often see normal numbers.
I am glad to see such housing changes. Finally we have those 1 FC 1 private rule and they make it nearly impossible to sell houses thanks to the timer. A bit bad for those that see the house being free and have to wait and hope that they are online when its sold but at least this might stop sellers.
Also I really hope that they will take older houses away. Feel sorry for those that just have them because they enjoy housing but I cant just see how they would use the new system without making it something that will get older ones too. I mean how would the system now that someone bought it before 4.2? Also this would explain the extra website for housing. Since they could explain it there.
The only part that I disliked was the FC only selling for a bit of a time. I can understand the reason for it but I just find it bad for all of those that are hopeing for a personal house for a long time and now have to hope that some are still there..this also means that there is a high chance that you wont get a middle or big personal house.
Anyway still happy that sellers are probably done for. Also interesting: Yoshida seems to be quite disappointed that people still sold houses after they told them not to do that so it seems that the timer is thanks to that. ;) Now we finally have the confirmation that he dislikes any selling and not only just those for high profit. Just sad that he never truly seemed to have given the GMs that information.

Rest of the patch is not that interesting. Omega seems to be fanservice only again which is nice for those that enjoyed the FF but I dont really care that much. Hopefully the next completely new raid will be something completely new and not just such a huge fanservice.
Dungeons and trial are fine but are nothing that interesting.
Glamour dresser is still not that great imo and their hint that we have the dresser and the chest (which makes it more than 200) is not that great either..I mean its not like that much goes into the chest.
The fashion mini game is alright. Just sad that its again restricted and can only be done once a week. Also we seemingly need the glamour with us which just makes it something that will decrease my inventory slots again..Its nice but nothing really ground breaking or long time for me. Maybe try it out once or twice but I am not sure if that content will be done much.
Not much else in the liveletter that kept my attention.
I really really hope that the liveletter about Eureka is more interesting.
Idk. I think they really did awesome with character and encounter design. The battles look the best yet. But the main content is same old, same old, and they waste a lot of time on useless fluff like Bard perform, subs, and that fashion thing. A lot of time is spent fixing things it looks like; balancing, fixing inventory, fixing glamour, and fixing housing. PvP is going to be a mixed bag, since it really relies on participation; the player tournament thing can be awesome but could be as much a waste as light party queue was.
At least though we don't have too long to wait.
Yeah, the GM inaction / hands being tied thing is kinda weird.
The GMs I've interacted with have all been extremely helpful, but not being able to take action (evenly) on house flippers or touch those twats using PF to advertise RMT services via discord...
Like SE's hands-on policy effectively seems to end with our 1OO% handwork chinese pals.
I own several houses myself, but my interest was mostly in gardening. To that end, I wouldn't be as annoyed about it if they'd actually implemented more gardening functions along the way. Give you the option to raze the house and just have a field of gardens. The only way to get more gardens was to buy more houses, which obv hasn't gone over well with latecomers.
As for action re: current landbarons, altaholics, etc. it seems lose-lose for them to clarify that situation for the NA market. On 1 hand, you screw over ppl who've broken no rules, and on the other you free up houses from flippers, farmers, hoarders etc and please more players overall by redistributing the housing.
If they announce the opposite - that existing owners will be able to grandfather their houses in - which could happen as well given the wording is vague in that it only mentions purchases, then you've got another pissed off horde to contend with.
It really depends on how they implement the restrictions.
If the restrictions are only on purchase, it will be bypassable.
eg. cannot purchase fc housing on alt while in fc on main
- get your main temporarily kicked, buy house, rejoin fc
- give someone else lead and let them buy the house
If the restrictions are on existing in 2 fcs with housing, then it seems quite strict...
Like being limited to one fc/acct unless the 2nd doesn't have housing?
Then what happens in the situation, your main in 1 fc, your alt in another houseless fc that manages to scrap together enough gil to buy a house? Your alt removed from that fc? They can't buy it at all?
If that were the case, I would also like to see alts made possible as tenants to your main. Punishing your gameplay experience for having (and paying for) multiple characters makes little sense, although obviously the previous situation was untenable.
There's lots of speculation to be made either way, but I don't think they will solidify their official position until that special site is released, regardless of what the vocal playerbase seems to think is right. Particularly if they're going to grandfather it in - the further they can delay that shitstorm the better.
On another note, weekly lockout for the minigame is dumb.
Nothing screams artificial timegate meant to draw out your subscription like weekly lockouts.
Super looking forwards to 999 stacks & submarines though.
I'm feeling very meh at the moment. Since 4.0 we got Omega, Rabanastre, Ultimate, and now Sigmascape in the way of battle content over the past 7 months. Hopefully Eureka is worth the wait... cause I'm getting bored of this content cycle
Oh, and 2 primals
So I just won't be able to buy a house until some point in the future. Yay. Which plots are FC only?
Hopefully we're going to keep seeing more housing added until the shortage is resolved, because this doesn't really seem like it does it. :(
But less time wasted in a dungeon is a good thing lol I'm just bias becuase SMN is my main....
PLD will return to the box it was in during 3.0, DRK will probably get little improvement like higher potency to DA combos which still lacks what the class is actually for lol
Everyone switching their PLD in 3 2 1...
I will change to drk myself.
So... rip Samurai. I shouldn't be surprised they are making the exact same mistake they did with Monk in Heavensward. At this point, Samurai is basically useless.
Excited for the new trials and dungeons, yet incredibly disappointed that they couldn't figure out how to tie glamours to individual jobs in time. Blah!
Ayy, SE finally acknowledged that DRK exists.
Hopefully the changes do them good.
I like the changes to BLM; shorter recast on aetherial manipulation means I can move more often in things like Raba (especially fighting Rofocale).
I'm only a little bummed about SMN's nerfs, but not much since I really only plan on using it for trials and 8-man raids. I'm much more comfortable running lv.70 dungeons with my RDM anyway. I'm really excited for the FFVI bosses in Sigmascape, and hearing that bit of Dancing Mad in the trailers got me so pumped! Just need to find a good raid static now...
Glad the Death Claw is available through achievement points, too! I was worried it might end up tied into Rival Wings, and I'm not terribly interested in PVP yet. Jade Stoa looks pretty awesome, and I'm also pretty psyched about fighting Byakko. Wonder what his weapons will look like, and how strong they'll be.
Yes SE will always annoy any side with their housing situation but honestly right now it should be better to have more people owning houses than some people being angry that they will lose some houses. Either way I am more sad that they choose to put private housing on hold..and seeing how they did not even say when it will be back..I honestly hope that this is not the end for personal housing..if you take away the chance to own a personal house at least try to give us instanced housing..this way right now will just mean that its rare to get something other than a small personal house.
And I agree about the mini game. Why restrict something like that? Are they afraid that people would earn too much MGP in a short amount of time? Is it not that interesting of a system so they fear that people will stop doing it after a short time if it has no restriction?
I'm sorry if this has been answered before. But I have a question: I read on reddit that "Additional plots, wards 13-18 will be added to each residential area" but that "Plots will be added one week after Patch 4.2"
Does this mean that the plots won't be available for purchase on Jan 30th?
Correct, they will open on February 7th so we don't have so many people rushing the servers for a plot like we saw at 4.1 launch. People who want to get on, do all of their content, and disappear again for a few months, will be able to do so, allowing those of use trying to get a house to get in a smidge more easily a week later. It's one of two things that will, theoretically, help loading into Kugane be a little smoother.
Though I suppose this means the house hunt will last ten minutes instead of five. xD
The new hairstyles are so bad in my opinion x_x out of all the hairstyle suggestions we give them they choose the weirdest ones. Why not add more hairstyle like M'Naago's/Y'shtola's?
Everything else is great though, can't wait for all the great things, specially being able to wear any gear without role restriction (I hope!).
If the new hairstyles are what I think they are, then colour me disappointed. I'm really not liking the trend of designing the majority of new hairstyles to be unisex - it typically leads to most of them ending up as being very androgynous or overly feminine. I think they had the right idea when they implemented hairstyles based on many of the playable characters from Type-0. I'd love to see more hairstyles designed to mimic those used by other iconic Final Fantasy characters.
Honestly? I blame the people who complain about gender locked stuff. I'm all about gender equality, but making nothing gender specific just means they have to design it for both genders which means it doesnt really look great on either one, since its not "this is for females, and this is for males"
