Anyone ELSE think we should be able to play as YOUNGER catgirls?

What is with ALL THESE suggestive POSTS....? I'm JUST saying a YOUNGER catgirl would be CUTE to play....! You know that catgirl GIRL minion...? Like THAT!

I don't know what the OP means by young but "younger" looking chars per se would not be that big of a deal. Of course everyones going to go straight to the children issue though. Really customization and diversity in this game is fairly low in the first place and usually we don't get much from the devs in regards to those topics anyway. We'd be lucky to get another race at this point.

Miqo'te already look like teenagers/young adults. OP is suggesting even younger. Khloe younger. That's where the problem is. Throw in a nude mod + ERP and it's basically... yeah. Wouldn't look good on SE.

Despite the fact most NPCs are older than they appear (Even Raya O'Senna is 21), player characters are youthful enough in appearance. Let that be enough.

Some of the emotes and glamour options available in the game would be highly inappropriate for child characters...and it wouldn't make a whole lot of sense from a story perspective, either.

Sonic is only 16, Tails is 9 - yes those are sega characters but look at what sonic goes thur in a day in one of his games. - Sonic adventure 2, gets put in jail, causes massive amounts of chaos on the first stages, is shot at, nearly run over by an insanely large monster truck, shot at some more, put back in jail, blows up an island. - break- Shot at some more, shot into space, shot at more, shot back out in space, supposely blows up in shuttle in space, and blows up an entire space station. And this is just a sonic game. Now look at Hope in FF13... - all of them -. I'm not saying I want kiddos in this game but to cry " but what ERP " when there's tons of characters younger than what should be in action.. doing.... action and being in crap no kid would ever be in. Should we really be THAT offended? Sides.... SE said no anyway. And miqo'tes look young enough.. - which I like cause fuck being some old bastard. too many games do that now.- 18 year olds can save the world too youi know. Cause anime is a thing.

As a proud Miqo'te, I cannot in good conscious support this -- if you want childlike cat-people, might I recommend the Elins of TERA.

I've been on Balmung all my years of playing this game and I can at least assure you there's no need to call a majority of it's players pedophiles. It's not that serious. Now, more handsome male Miqo'te options + muscle slider + taller max height would have us all in a tither. ;)

There was at least two or three threads discussing this with a lot of blatant references to pedophilia and quite literally the threads imploded and were deleted. I really wish this could be swept under the rug for good.

I'd be cool with being able to play any of the races as Children. (Though those would be some small lalafells)

I'm not sure playing any of the races in their child state of development would make much sense. Does the Adventurer's Guild accept children?

Honestly, I wish I had some more options for body types and more with the height slider. That or some kind of Miqo'te-Highlander mix.

Actual Lalafell children in game use the same models as the adults. My guess is they must grow pretty fast after they're born.

That said, an argument can be made that the Lalafell merely look young biologically. Playing as actual Children not only holds a slew of shady connotations, but one has to ponder how that would play out in the narrative as well. Children in the Adventurer's Guild? Children fighting wars? Fighting dragons? Naturally the Warrior of Light is an exception but let's be honest here, suspension of disbelief only goes so far. I mean, lorewise we know Kan-E-Senna uses magic to make herself look older than she is just because she knows she wouldn't be taken seriously by the other leaders in the Eorzean Alliance due to her true appearance being that like other Padjal: child-like. If Kan-E-Senna has to fake her body's physical age to get some respect, it really wouldn't make sense for the Warrior of Light to be a child and taken seriously either.

Yeah, lots of games have child protagonists. The difference isn't kids shouldn't be fighters since obviously this isn't true in tons of video games. The difference is that those games are non-social and offline games. This game is online, social, and most people are pretty anonymous. So, there are too many possibilities for abuse.

And I was specifically talking about this game. The way everything has been set-up and the stories are told, having a 9-10 year old running around as the warrior of light, slaying Primals, fighting armies, liberating countries, would feel really out of place.

Oh yeah I fully agree with you. I'm just saying the reasoning that " kids aren't heroes" isn't a good reason. The REAL reason is people online are pervs. THAT is why we shouldn't have kid heroes :D So I'm in full agreement with ya.
