I'd like to know this too

Well I've managed to cancel the useless Preorder that says won't be in stock until 20th November 2016?!? 10 months ago?!?
That right there shows a dubious website that appears powered by a hamster.
I wasn't happy with the "Verifying CC transaction" or the fact that there are no options for anything for those who have the games leaving only a Timecard that I can't add anyway as my sub for 6 months just went out.
All it's done is lead to yet more dissatisfaction with SE and especially their partner in ShopTo, a site I will not be using again as it reeks of unprofessionalism.
Why not provide these items on Mog station? You'd get players who missed other "events" the chance to purchase the items and your disallusioned Non JP/US player base to be on equal terms with others....then again, we just pay our subs, get ignored and when we are acknowledged are treated to these well thought out events the infrastructure is substandard.
You think they would have learned how to organise an event by now. Disappointment after disappointment.
I'm amazed that SE are doing a promotion wuth such a dubious site. Did they not even bother to check?
Can the EU team members not do their jobs properly? So many of their customers are now at risk of cc fraud.
Also the Lodestone mentions Just Cause 3 and JC3 Gold edition.
These are not on the ShopTo list and seem to not be included within the offer
Whoever choose ShopTo should be banned for trolling...
Come on. Only 1 item for PC users (The 60 days timecard), and it's out of stock since the begining.
Not to mention that the website looks like a low budget scam, they had problems in the past leaking credit cards info and their shipment costs are incredibly high if you are not from UK.
^ This. I've been using Shopto since January 2009 and haven't had any problems with them. Their website is hilariously out of date but they aren't a dodgy company. Didn't manage to get a qualifying game yesterday, so hopefully they get some more stock in soon. Got my eye on the Tomb Raider game ideally, though Dragon Quest Heroes looks interesting as well.
I dont know why they just don't sell stuff via square-enix store or mogstation.
That is the million dollar question. If they sold the promotion via the Mog Station or SE Store (example, buy 60 days gamecard and receive the promotion items) all of this and future promotions would have been solved. Now I am wondering, if they just like making EU players angry.
How is it that the EU promo campaigns are partnered with such shitty companies?
I'm confused as to what the complaints are. The site ran out of stock? Of course it did because the rabid XIV fanbase jumped on it day one and dried up their stock (to be expected, I doubt shop to had any idea how popular the campaign was), we cannot judge anything until we see how quickly that situation clears up. As for the site itself, Shop To's website might look a bit iffy, but the company is legit and I have used them many times before.
Oh and the thing about the FFXII preorder, amazon does the exact same thing with pre-orders now after what happened with the first NA campaign.
SE shouldn't do these campaigns not because they are a bad idea, but because they bring out the absolute worst in the community.
I am more than a little flabbergasted by the fact that no items are in that campaign that are actually usable for PC except the time card (which they don't have in stock anyway), this is pretty abysmal even by SE standards.
Edit:
And it would be nice with some digital downloads for those who aren't within the customs union and as such have to deal with import taxes etc.
You do realise that many players - myself included - have been very patient for a great many months whilst offering constructive criticism at every turn only for the exact same mistakes to be repeated over and over, right? Furthermore, issues that afflict the North American and Japanese communities are responded to by Yoshi-P himself. Whereas European players are lucky to get a response from our community representatives - and even then the issues aren't properly resolved. We've been told that they'll eventually be on the Mog Station but no set date has been given and we're stuck losing out on the items and seeing players from other regions enjoy and display them.
So at this point in time it's perfectly understandable as to why some people are very vocal in their frustration. You can tone police all you like but their concerns aren't invalid - and this isn't the first MMO that has actively screwed over European players, either. Given that some of us have been playing MMO's for roughly a decade I don't feel as though it is unfair for us to feel very irritated at being treated like second class customers.
I think some measures could have been taken to reduce customer stress; communication between S-E and Shopto before announcing the campaign to ensure sufficient stock. They sold out within minutes, on a weekday. Apparently some items were sold out before the campaign began (did anyone get the elusive timecard?) People just want to follow the instructions of the campaign and receive their item code. At the moment it's impossible, but I appreciate S-E letting us know they are working on the problem. The community is harsh anyway even without provocation, but in this case I kinda like that people are leaving negative feedback, it makes me hope things will be resolved faster and maybe better prepared next time.
Even if ShopTo didnt know, SE and the people on their site responsible for the campaign should have known. Seeing how we got those campaigns by player demand in the first place they have no excuse for not being aware of that. They must have been aware about the issues regarding that magazine back then aswell - and if anything they should have data on how many active EU-accounts there are aka how many potential people to be intrested in those items. We've got that 175 page thread about people wanting them. So no excuse for not being aware of that on their part.
Seeing how ShopTo cant handle that, its obvious that SE made a bad choice of a campaign-partner - and not for the first time, which is even more shocking and infuriating.
Until SE can figure out a way to properly do those campaigns I agree: They shouldnt do them at all.
I understand that specially in europe it might be more difficult to get campaigns running for everyone, since you've got laws for all those different countries but at this point I'm seriously wondering why they're even still trying. Each campaign is just more bad PR for SE, really - because each campaign is bad in its very own way.
The reason everyone is jumping on this campaign is, yet again, a lach of transparency regarding wether or not certain countries will get campaigns aswell and when. Or when those items will be put on the mogstation.
They've shown again and again that they dont have the will or manpower or ressources or knowledge or whatever to handle EU-campaigns, which is sad - a good promo would have been nice! But since they cant do that, I'd rather see them stop and just set a date when the items are going on the mogstation...
Interestingly enough, I put the timecard on backorder right before the website initially crashed. When the site came back up, my timecard order had been processed and charged for (they don't charge until they process the back ordered item). This morning I have a dispatch email for it. I've had to submit a ticket to ShopTo though because despite having the timecard in stock after all and despite the fact that the order clearly shows the DLC as part of the list of items purchased, the "Activate Code" button for the DLC is missing...
It feels like with every season that comes along, something really irritating happens to EU players. Only a few months ago were us NA-server EU players being shut out of the game entirely, waiting on a community fix (god bless this forum for that) and once again we have to deal with a campaign that wasn't thought through. I understand why not everything can be put on mogstation, that there's an issue of what is available in what country (eg. the outfits locked in Asian servers) but... we waited months for this promotion and most of us wont even have a shot at getting it. We pay for and love this game just as much as NA players do, please stop shafting us! I know it's just extra items and things, but we feel left out as a community, especially the players on NA servers who have watched everyone else receive these items ages ago.
Please, don't let us down again!
Others have already expressed valid points on the campaign and how it was handled in EU and I was wondering if this was seriously the only way to implement the campaign in EU? The campaigns have a pretty bad history in EU so why has there been no improvement in handling them?
Would it have been a bad idea to make it mogstation Campaign, like someone already mentioned? That way everyone would have had a equal chance on getting the items. Like buy 10-15€ worth of items from mogstation and receive the items as a extra reward or just put them up for sale in mogstation without any strings attached.
Also the starting date for this campaign is pretty weird IMO. Instead of Monday you choose to start at Thursday, with people being left wondering what's happening for the weekend making the community grow even more frustrated than what it is already.
Just put the damn thing on MogStation now, for God's sake ! SE can't make an EU promotional campaign to save its life. Many of us waited for months to get this promotion, and it's so badly, badly done it's insulting ! I'm getting fed up giving money to incompetent thieves.
Why did they even bother with ShopTo ? They went out of stock minutes after the announcement, and a HUGE portion of the players I know won't even get the chance on getting the items they waited for so long, and we barely got any communication from SE, only that they were working on something.
Get your shit together
Managed to order a time card earlier, and for a while it all seemed fine, but now I check and the order is blank, says it's for £0.00 but they still charged me for the original sum of the time card. The time-card doesn't show up on their site search either. Just opened a support ticket but this is the definition of a scam. I'm really disappointed in SE for partnering up with them.
Yes, many players including myself. Difference here is that we HAVE had communication about the stock from SE, and the problem is easily explained. This has nothing to do with previous campaigns because the problems there involved difficulty of access, magazines which didn't exist and having to jump through hoops to get the items. This campaign is easy to access, available to everyone, and I trust the company from previous experience. The only issue is stock (which I will reiterate, SE has acknowledged publicly), and people not understanding how to cancel orders and how preorder codes work.
Difference between me and everyone else is I see the campaign and see that once the dust settles I will easily get my items, whereas others see the world ending because the items are sold out during the mad rush.
I feel the frustration is justified as ShopTo have got to realise that they made a fuck up for not having sufficient stock and SE have seen the problem (again) by not grasping how big the EU fanbase is and our demand for the items.
It should have gone to Mog Station with all things considered. More cash directly for SE and ease for ALL countries...
This is such bullshit, you're not able to register without a credit card. What is this the 90's?
There's an issue with not being able to register with the Shopto site if there's already an account at that address registered. So couples, flatmates, whatever, if your credit cards' billing address are registered to the same address, it won't let you create an account with that address.
Anyone know if this will be an issue. Will people at the same address have to pay on one shopto account and will they get the codes for every thing they order? Like multiple codes for multiple game time cards even if it's paid for by one credit card?
Ahh I remember ShopTo I used to use them before some incident with hacking. I'd rather not put info on that site. Maybe SE will put on Mogstation eventually.
Cannot even login to ShopTo, either gives a blank page (when trying a straight login) or gives a blank notification window (when logging in when back-ordering)...Not to mention I receive an instant scam e-mail under ShopTo guise when they sent me an e-mail about successfully registering, trying to make me click a false link instead of the real one...Two e-mails, on same exact second. Reputable site? Ehh...
To answer my own question, someone posted on reddit a screenshot ( https://imgur.com/ChEmZh7 ) of a discussion with ShopTo.
It says that backordered items before nov 20th, will receive FF item codes even if they are sent after the end of the promo.
Edit: NVM, ErryK beats me to it few posts above ^^
What the hell? Hoi SE, did you check the consoles your playerbase uses because it's not all PS4. This is almost as bad as that whole magazine thing - the only thing that makes it better is that you don't have to be lucky enough to get 3 items instead of just one. Though you already can't get that 1 if you don't have a PS4. Well, you can, but it's utterly wasted money. Just put the damn item on the cash shop, I get players make stupid demands a lot but just this time listen to your playerbase.
why couldn't they sell Digital timecards??? you know that shit that doesn't go out of stock ever because it's digital???? they really didn't think this through at all.
Amazon sells them and the SE online store sells them, even GAME sells the ffs. They couldn't give ShopTo the rigths to sell them digitally to avoid this BS? also the PC only players, my condolences, this is all the can buy that will benefit them. This whole event is messed up.
While their email system is probably messed up, to the point of sending you the same email twice, both of these emails are from the same address. If you check the links in both emails, you'll notice that they're the exact same links.
Unprofessional (like the entire promotion)? Sure, but there's nothing false about the emails.
Oh wow, this seriously sucks. I swear, in every MMO I've been in, my EU bretheren get shafted.
Shame on you Squeenix. Seriously.
Except the links are different on both e-mails, and the both e-mails are about same thing but content differs greatly - the one I suspect being false has no indication of even linking to the same website it comes from. And even the advertisement on the e-mail has the exact same links, instead, you know, leading to whatever it advertises.
ShopTo is the worst website ever. Why in the world would you do that, instead of amazon ? ugh.
I registered an account with Shopto, and now I'm trying to register an account for my partner but it won't let me because you can't have two Shopto accounts with the same address. D:
If I make two seperate purchases on the one account will I get two codes so he can have one too?
I can't believe you can only have one Shopto account per household that's really inconvenient.
Is this the promotion we in Australia should be using, or is something else coming our way? Thanks.
