Well, you can get it now you choose not to because reasons.
They will not do it NOW and probably not ever and if they did, it'll be in the backburner for ages.
It's kinda "You can't have your cake and eat it too" deal. (Right? I think anyway haha.)
Work for your cake man! All I have to say.
Do enjoy your evening. ^^
Learning that it exists (I haven't seen it, but this topic and knowledge of FF allows me to make an assumption) is honestly enough for me. I don't plan on doing Savage much, if at all, and just knowing they did add it makes me happy.
So toss my hat into the ring of it not being needed for O4. If it gets added, cool, but if it stays in O4S? I'm still fine with it.

Sorry... couldn't resist...
Please stop this.
I don't want to see you, when another of your favorite bosses is SuperSavage only.
The additional phase is a good change from normal to savage and I would be happy if they include this randomly in the savage fights and not only into the final fights.
Pretty much yeah =/
If it was several years ago I'd be right with you saying it should be gated etc, etc, but things change.
I just want to indulge in the silly fan-service fight with my friends when it's not old news and I don't think that's unreasonable to ask of this game considering it basically sells itself on fan-service.
Um, what's exactly stopping you?
You want it in normal mode so you can experience it, so you're prepared to at least gear/learn that far. If you're there you're not THAT far off starting Savage.
I'm sorry but you're entitlement is boggling. Work for what you want.
I'll just wait until undersized
Please leave this fight as a Savage fight only. I'm tired of casuals having access to everything. We raiders put in a lot of time to get to the end of the hardest content of this game so I think we deserve something special for once.
I loved FF5 but honestly I feel like it's sadly hampered by the fact that everything it did, the later games improved upon. Even X-2, the blacksheep of the entire series, took that combat system and improved upon it quite significantly. So I can see why some people aren't interested in going back to try it. That said it's definitely in my Top 5 and I probably had more fun with it's story and gameplay than most other titles in the series.
X-2 has the best combat system of any numbered FF title. People can argue they didn't like the aesthetics, but that combat system is legit.
As someone who raided Coil back in the day but didn't touch Savage Alex and has very little intent of stepping foot into Savage Omega while it's "on content" (I'm just burnt out) - I stand by what most people here said: Keep the fight exclusive to Savage.
As people here have said - you have the ability to go in and raid the Savage version of the encounter with everyone else. You're choosing not to, just like I'm choosing not to. But the difference is, I understand that my *choice* to not go into Savage is just that - MY choice. I don't get special treatment as a player because I don't want to do the hard versions of the raids.
The fight is a bonus for people who are hardcore raiders - its their "reward" for the fact that SE had to make a Story Mode for all the people who complained that Coil was unfairly gated. SE isn't obligated to remove content gates and they shouldn't have to. So basically, suck it up and either learn to do hardcore raiding (there are plenty of raiding groups that take Savage on much more casually than World Firsters) or wait until the next expansion and unsync the fight at Level 80.
As someone who has experience running Gordias, Midas (lol, barely even touched A7S or A8S) and completed Creator before 20% Echo / Expansion hit. NO!
If you want to experience Neo ExDeath, Take the time to get good at your favorite classes, find a group willing to take you in all of savage or make your own and play the content it was intended to instead of demanding to be spoonfed content just because you're not willing to put the time or effort into it.
You want to see the fight? Have you and 7 of your friends go to youtube and watch it together. That is your option if you need to see it right now. Raiders work pretty hard to know classes well enough to fight the top tiers of content. They deserve this, even its a timed exclusive. (Because Echo+patches means everyone can do it before the end of Stormblood even.) To say you CANT see the fight is just you being a petulant child.
I also prefer they keep "it" in Savage exclusively. The good thing about Coil was that you wanted to clear it in order to see the story unfold. It motivated people to run it and give it their all.
With the way Alexander was set up, that motivation was gone, since there wasn't anything new to see in Savage (apart from ruthless mechanics). So, if they added something to V4 Savage that Normal doesn't have, it would motivate more people to go clear it themselves.
I would, if i could get our group back together for it. (^_^ )
no pls dont do this
I hope they do more savage exclusive fights. I hope it eventually feels like a totally different fight for all bosses in future raid content.
So you don't have time to try a raid for two hours once or twice a week? But you have the time to complain on the OF?
Got it.
Come on. I'm not even a raider and I know this is a terrible idea. The content is harder and they're rewarded with extras for the content being harder. No. No. A million times no. If you want to enjoy the last phase get 7 of your buddies together and start chipping away at savage. We need /more/ exlcusive savage fights. Not less.
You say its fine for them to have exclusives but you really don't mean that because here you are begging for hand outs.
Welcome to coils in 2.0. You want to see the content? Then do the content. End of story.
If Neo ExDeath was in normal mode he would be a push over and not live up to the hype.
I'd rather it stay in Savage as an exciting fight rather than become a joke in Normal Mode.
EDIT #1: Also, good luck to trying to make the dev team redesign a fight just because people don't want to commit to a static for the Savage Version. They've NEVER redesigned a fight after its release, so this suggestion will be fruitless.
The whole point was to make the final fight unique for raiders. If you want to experience it for yourself, either find a group capable of getting there or wait until you inevitably out-gear the content and go with some friends to knock it dead. Regardless, they would have to severely water down Neo Ex-Death for normal. The sheer volume of mechanics alone would utterly destroy less experienced players. I mean, look at the whining over Shinryu. He may as well be the boss from Tam Tara next to Neo Ex-Death.
Not entirely. The main reason behind it was not because people didn’t have the “motivation” to do it, but they believed it to be too hard for them to complete. Because if that, they felt left out on the story that Coil brought with it, which was an essential part of the story revolving Dalamud and the Calamity (which created the world of ARR as we know it).
On the other side there were Hardcore raiders who felt that Coil in its current state was “Too easy”. So, you had the “It’s too hard” and “It’s too easy” camp when it comes to Coil. In order to give the Hardcore raiders something to do, SE decided to implement the Savage mode as an experiment, to see how well it was received among the Hardcore Raiders.
The Hardcore Raiding group like the difficulty that Savage brought, but their current rewards (Titles through Achievements) wasn’t enough to run it multiple times and help others clear the same content.
With that in mind, SE created Alexander Normal and Savage. With it, you had a Normal mode with which everyone should be able to clear it and watch the story unfold. Players who wanted to be challenged could run Savage, in which they could get the strongest gear available until the next tier was released.
But, when looking at the difficulty of both modes, the “midcore” raiders felt that the Normal mode was too easy and the savage mode too hard. Since their main focus was to watch the story unfold, they’d simply clear the Normal mode but were left unsatisfied since it was too easy. On the other side, aside from the gear that dropped in Savage, there was nothing new to be found in Savage, next to the increase in difficulty.
When they hit the walls in A3S as well as Midas Savage, they simply stopped running the Savage content, because they felt it wasn’t worth it.
After creating the “Creator” Tier, SE felt that they found a difficulty setting for Savage which will be doable for more than just the top tier hardcore raiders. At that moment, they saw an increase in players running Savage again.
On the other hand, the Top Tier Raiders felt that “Creator” was too easy and that they wanted more difficult content. This will always be a battle that SE has to deal with. Creating content so that a significant amount of people will run it to make it worth their investments.
So, if the savage version of the fight contains an element which will give it a completely new feeling to it and get people interested in experiencing it themselves, then that’s a good development. Most people running the Deltascape won’t be able to clear Savage as easy as the Top Tier Raiding community and if their motivation to experience the “new phase” is high enough, they will invest time into clearing it themselves, which will result in people playing the game for a longer period of time.
Ideally, i’d like to see 3 modes for the 8-man raids, namely “Normal” for players who solely want to clear the raid for the story, “Savage” for the players who want to have a bit of a challenge in clearing it (at the level of the the Final Coil of Bahamut) and “Brutal” for the Top Tier Raiding Scene who live for the ruthless battles and tight dps/healer checks which require a party performing at incredible levels of skill and teamwork.
It's a very slippery slope when you start putting hard work (model, animation, textures, soundtrack) into content that only the most hardcore of the hardcore will ever see.
Or you can wait a couple of months when your ilvl is higher and face roll the fight if you want to do it so badly but don't want to get into serious raiding?
Guys, can you REALLY not smell the troll? It really stinks.
No.

Now you have a goal to reach. If you desire to see it, to face it yourself, earn it rather than begging to make it accessible to you through easier means. Whatever happened to earning something? You see something that is hard to achieve your first thought shouldn't be "Can you make this easier for me?" it should be "What can I do to reach that goal." Once you get into that mentality, you can actually achieve to be a better player rather than asking the devs to lower to goal post.
BWAHAHAHA! The complete one sided entitlement and general rejection of this thread will generate enough chaos and discord across the realm over, all in service to the return of the One True God!!
