Or the networks that those MMOs use along with other companies/groups.

The ones attacking aren't very bright to begin with, so when they do it hardly matters to them, it even costs money for them to sit there and annoy companies and other players by doing that, so they can't keep it up forever, i still fail to see what the point of this even is.
The second sentence is true. The first sentence is false.
I wish I could think something is a lie based on me not believing them. Sadly it doesn't work that way.
I have little reason to trust devs especially with all the wonderful class balance issues being discussed back and forth. But if classes are working as intended please tell me!
Because they're absolute little creeps. There's no reason for it, they just want to act out and feel powerful. A loser is a loser.
I fail to see the relation between class balance issues at the start of an expansion which is incredibly common and randomly lying about a DDoS attack.
I don't even know how one can say that "this doesn't feel like a DDoS attack" as last night felt exactly like a DDoS attack to me.
Last night I was running instances with no hiccups whatsoever, in fact, I haven't had much of an issue at all save for a few minor things since early access almost a month ago. Cleared V2 without issue, went into V3 and suddenly all 8 members of my party are pokeballing and rubber banding.
Then there's the one going on this morning. Which I fail to see the logic that it's anything but a DDoS. Despite the issues, the world servers were kept running during early access and after release and content outside of Raubahn and some instances felt fine. I experienced little to no problems once I got through Raubahn save for getting booted Sunday night after early access but that only happened once and coincided with a declared attack... yet I'm to believe that those same servers are flailing and dying at the sudden rush of traffic that apparently occurred during midday on a Wednesday? I seriously doubt that.

My guess is it's some loser group of obsessed WoW maniacs. They're upset that FFXIV is getting pretty popular and want to lash out.
Although, corporate sabotage isn't outside the realm of possibility. It's definitely something I could see Blizzard capable of.
I assumed it was people mad about the server move. It seems like it's only NA having problems, if they didn't like the game or wanted notoriety I would think they'd go after all the servers, not just ours.
Although I suppose it could just be that our new servers aren't good.
Lol!
I'm pretty sure the people who really like WoW are too busy playing it to worry about other games... as for Blizzard, no corporation in their right mind would ever consider taking those kinds of risks. If caught, they could lose everything... and whatt does it gain them? Mildly irritating players of another game? Lol. It's not their M.O. trust me. :)
Some groups actually threaten to DDoS and demand money to NOT do so.
I wasn't actually accusing Blizzard of it, I just said it wouldn't surprise me... but seriously, not their M.O.? Blizzard has done tons of underhanded shit in the past. Paying for or even just encouraging a DDoS attack would definitely be something they're capable of.
Why? Because they're trolls that want attention and game forums are an easy mark for getting people riled up. All this raging about DDoS is exactly what they want and it encourages them to do it more. They'll keep doing it until they get bored or people stop giving them what they want.
All I can say is. HANG IN THERE Devs! Most especially the server team!
I totally understand how frustrating this is for everyone involved, not just players.
Some jerk somewhere just has to ruin stuff for everyone else just to get his jollies. That person/people deserves to rot on a pike.
Many corporations have done far, far worse.
Was about to write a long and unpleasant post about the game being unplayable all week. But since it's already a known issue there is no point. Anyways, was looking forward to logging in and have to play <...> instead until it gets fixed.
Balmung on SB release 1,000 - 2,000 in que, while not perfectly stable was more stable than this right now. Today on Balmung 20 - 250 in que and it can only be server instability and nothing else, according to people.
Some people's logic is absolutely astounding and even breath taking at times.
