Far be it from me to turn down enmity buffs!
I'm happy with Bard buffs. What about Machinist? :(Quote:
An issue wherein the bard action Battle Voice had no effect when used immediately after Mage’s Ballad, Army’s Paeon, or the Wanderer’s Minuet.
* In addition to addressing this issue, party members are no longer required to be under the effects of a song to receive the effects of Battle Voice.
My first to 70 was sch and that really needs a buff and I guess they wanted to watch it a bit more and not wing it. As for str tanks I get why they do it but as a sch, I am not amused though it is less of an issue on my astro. As for playing on my level 70 drk, I do decent at holding hate, though a though a few dps jobs can rip it off me when played well. More Enmity generation is nice. As for content I spend more time holding enmity than trying to knock out the extra dps. It leaves the healers happy, I am not chasing lose mobs and the dps can get them down nicely. While never a fan of locking gear as it can reduce creativity, I have never been a fan of str tanks and hope the 270 str items are locked soon. That way they can get back to working on changes to tanks with meta from tanks actually using all tank gear.
yeah but 2 more tiers of gear.accessories are coming one this week and another in 2 weeks. They need to really go back to vit/str or make vit the primary(not 1:1 ratio), while making the death penalty debuff flat potencies in damage dealt. Its like the difference between turning it from 3.0 berserk to FoF. One aided and scaled with the AP bonus for healing abilities, the other only enhanced damage dealt and didnt scale for healing abilities based on AP,
This is good to know Thanks for the information I was asked this by a FC mate earlier today and had no answer now I know
There, there I am sort of hoping that 4,1 or 4.2 will bring the many non-changes from 3,0 for both roles to where they "get it"
So I guess SCH is working as intended... AST it is.
I'm curious as to how much of an upgrade the scrip gear is going to be over fully melded HQ 70 gear.
I'm kind of glad I didn't splurge on the latter in any case.
It is both more and less than I anticipated. I expected them to penalize tanks who insist on being dps and not using Shield Oath/Grit/Defiance. I do not have an issue keeping hate in tank stance, and before anyone tries to salt up about "omg tank dps wah wah windowlick", if I wanted to play dps, I have 70 rdm and 70 drg for that. Use your enmity generators more.
I did not expect them to increase enmity further on tank hate generators. I like this.
Cannot wait to get my FF3/6 magitek sprite mount.
SE probably didn't have time to do in-depth balance changes for this patch. Increasing enmity gained from moves is an easy numbers fix on their end. So is changing a damage type and flagging AoE/personal and setting the range. Deeper changes will come with 4.05, so don't grab the pitch forks yet. Wait until those patch notes hit and your favourite job didn't get the same love as others did. :P
I'm glad they boosted the enmity, because I went from having two enmity combos keep me good on threat for an entire fight to having it only keep aggro off the "selfish" DPS classes like SAM, BLM, and MNK until about 50% on average.
I only had issues with threat in tank stance if said classes insisted on going after different targets.
I'm hoping it's identical but offers a "free" way of reaching max meld stats for people that don't want to gamble on melding. That said I'd prefer to meld and be done with it, I have no desire to slog away at acquiring, much less carrying around, separate equipment sets for every crafting and gathering class. If this new gear ends up being better(or more specifically required), it's going to suck for me.
Glad to see the predator armor is in, I've been having a slow-burning fit waiting for it to be found. Now to hope that the music that plays when you're in it is Devil's Lab.
It was more likely a bug. They made the changes to balance the SB content, but then found tanks couldn't keep hate AT ALL in the 1-49 and 50 dungeons. Quite Literately, nothing you can do in Satasha, Copperbell or Tam-Tara will keep hate as a tank. The second the healer or DPS sneeze, you lose it. Until you get a tank stance (Shield Oath(gold icon)/Defiance(red icon)/Grid(blue icon)) at like level 30 (by actually doing the Job quest and not just spamming PotD till you're blue in the face,) you can't recover mobs that have decided to eat the party's face.
Oh well, time to put your smn on the shelf and play some MNK or NIN/RDM/SAM/BRD cause thats pretty much the only thing thats going to be viable for the next couple of months. :>

* Further adjustments to actions and traits are scheduled for patch 4.05. So yeah, people need to hold on for a bit, its only been 2 weeks and that isnt really enough info to do any decent changes to jobs, all they can really do at the moment is a few potency tweaks. They also want to see how things fair in raids, im sure we will see a lot more changes to jobs 4.05 and possibly 4.1...
Are people forgetting that 4.05 will have the meat of Job adjustments? The changes here are either slight changes to help tanks or changes that are more bug fixes than anything, like BRD's Troubadour/Battle Voice, MCH's Flamethrower, and NIN's Bhavacakra being physical instead of magical.
so did 3.05 did, we didnt forget it all were just not putting any hype on it
HE could have said, at the current state we do not have any accurate or clear official statements, however in one of the live interviews, Yoshi stated : (insert whatever message) and it would have been still better then your fail attempt of coming to the forums, asking players about their opinion of release dates, that are nothing else but assumptions. Then you try to argue with somebody, that shows you at least somewhat proof of an statement given by the producer/director and your response is, that you rather believe what the lady at the local walmart is saying because Yoshi used the word "think".
Back to the discussion point, I think (see what I am doing here?) they moved the release of the housing date a bit back, because there are still people that haven't received their game copies (international shipping) and others that are still being lockout from content due the still existing log in queue's and server instability issues. It would be horrible if housing is introduced tonight, and people that are not able of being online or haven't level'd characters up far, would have to miss out on that, same if they would have introduced the new weekly tomes tonight.
in my own personal opinion, since the patch states that in 2 weeks we will be able to see newly added weapons, that are exchangeable for the omega tokens, it would be the time to open up the housing district then or right after with a smaller patch. That would be still prior to the actual announced 4.2 patch, if the schedule stays, and would therefore fall still under the "4.1" requirements and announcements.
No SCH buffs (yet, at least) but they fixed the UI text issues on PS4, so I'm plenty happy for that!
Waiting for adjustment on P.I. on WHM. Dont see the point on that ability and if 2 WHM are paired together in raid its hard for me to see if the "buff" in party frame is mine or from my fellow partner... Was not expecting to see emnity increasing in tanks. I think it was a nice move for the time being until they adjust things in 4.05.
I knew we wouldn't get much but I honestly hoped for more than those 3. so I'm hoping after Omega/Savage they can hard pin point everyone's problems. I hope they do something to SCH/MCH though. I fear SCH will be in the sidelines for hardcore content, guess it is their turn...and MCH has always been high skill, low reward even moreso because BRD outclasses them with a bit more damage plus the butt load of utility. :/
There is one thing I continuosly dislike: All we get are buffs. No nerfs. Which makes content easier and easier, because content is never adjusted to us getting power. I am happy I did all the content pre-nerf, but think designers really need to take into account this power creep.
You know what they should be doing for all buffs/debuffs casted by you, is use the same overline indicator but YOUR casts/debuffs hilighted in red/green/blue (depending if you're tanking/healing/dps'ing) while other players casts are shown normally. Anything you can remove from a target continues to have the white line. The color basically helps to remind that you have/haven't casted a buff that is your role if someone else does.
I try read all about patch note. Still not open Shirogane? :(
Yeah, sucks that we'll have to wait so long, but at least it'll give me more time to save up. Finally got enough money for a small plot and if I can finally get my fishing leveled and keep focusing on leveling my retainers, maybe I'll get enough for a medium plot before they come out.
Though I'll have to get really lucky. Not sure why medium plots cost like 5x the price of small, but large is only twice the price of medium.
I'm slightly confused...is 4.01 being released today? i didn't see a release date in the patch notes or anything that says when it will be live..
Maybe i'm just blind...or dumb...

And then the patch notes as linked by the OP.
So, we got the ilvl 300 gear for crafter/gatherer via yellow scrips, but we cant craft them? Like at HW. And we got no new recipes. Will we stay with these until 4.1? Welp, i guess i get time to care about my fighting classes.
It's possible they will release in 3.01b (On Thursday?). We're definitely due for 2 star recipes at this point in the expansion, so if not by then, definitely by 3.05.
FYI, only the mainhand tool is better for crafters compared to melded white gear. Though you do need to sacrifice 5 CP if you want it.
