Suggestion: Give SCH an aoe heal (Medicia/Helios)

So you say until somebody fails the jump rope in Susan EX and the main healer falls right before Ukehi. Then you have to Succor the party, ET Succor to top off after the first Ukehi, Indom after the second and start your Succor, and HOPE you can get multiples out before individuals fall to the 3rd. Whispering Dawn can help there if you're lucky enough to have it up (meaning you didn't use it during jump rope to avoid having to heal anybody doing the mechanic) and have Eos actually use it before the raid takes too much damage, or else people will fall and there's nothing you can do about it.

I agree with what most others have said, Scholar has enough AoE healing at the moment. It's not as freely used as Medica or Helios, but that's kinda the point of Scholar as a whole in my opinion

Sacred Soil and either Largesse, Fey Covenant, or Fey Illumination actually makes that quite manageable.

Had Sacred Soil up, Covenant was on cooldown from the last one. I don't know if the party isn't geared enough or if it's me, I cannot solo heal that at all as a SCH, and I had to try at least 3 times in the attempts last night.

It was probably your party - and let's be honest, if you had people taking so much damage from jump rope that they needed whispering dawn... well. Healers aren't supposed to be designed to deal with most of the party being suicidal, we're supposed to have limits and other people are supposed to attempt to do mechanics properly.

I believe what he meant is that if people do the lightning mechanic correctly, Whispering Dawn is (usually) enough to heal people up from the lightning strikes as they happen without any active intervention.

Yes, but that's a total waste, though. If done correctly the lightning mechanic only damages one person. Why would you waste whispering dawn on that?

Because while it is only one person at a time, it is still 8 people getting hit. If you can use one of Eos's spells instead of spending GCDs healing them up, why wouldn't you?

Four people take lightning damage during jump rope. If you whisper it, then you only need to do a single Succor before the following Unkehi to top off everyone and maybe a quick heal on the last lightning target depending, so you can completely ignore healing for the entire duration of the jumprope. If you trigger Whispering Dawn in the middle of jump rope it will also still be up for Unkehi. And let's be real, since you probably have Eos out anyway when else are you going to use Whispering Dawn? There isn't a lot of staggered damage in the Susano fight, and it gets a lot of work done during lightning.

Stop pretending you don't have Succor, Indom, Emergency Tactics, and an auto healer, and proactively heal the party!

Do Susano EX as a SCH and get to the raid wide damage, with one healer down because the last jumprope failed, and the party at half health. A SCH can't heal all of that damage by themselves, especially if you have Whispering Dawn on cooldown. We need either another AoE heal, or a 1s cooldown on Indom like Lustrate so we can pop multiples in a row if need be.

Not to mention that 'auto healer' is a buggy mess of an AI which often needs it have it's buttons spammed before they'll even deign to proc and whose potency was nerfed as far as I'm currently aware. Meaning we're often spending precious seconds fighting one of our necessary tools in the kit and thus unable to do anything else till the skill finally procs. It's also worse with Eos in my experience, and at present she's the preferred faerie for Extremes.

Frankly I'd be fine with our current skillset if they /just/ lowered the timer on Emergency Tactics and the cost of Succor. It would go a long way to solving most, though not all, issues SCH has with AOE healing.

The fairy is preemptive, and not reactionary. It has powerful tools but unreliable response time, so if Eos is on the field then you should use her in preparation for mechanics rather than in response to them. Indomitability, Lustrate, and Emergency Tactics are specifically for reactionary healing.

That being said if all your options are down and you need them to be up then either use Dissipation for stacks, or if that's not an option just prepare to go down with the ship. Single heal is hard if either you or your team is unprepared for it.

Half of my macros are skills. The other half are pretyped tutorials in both Japanese and English I activate at the start of fights in which not knowing what happens will kill people.

They could turn the dissipation aspect of dissipation to dumping your fay gauge in a single aoe heal relative to how much gauge you have. Keeping the fairy. Making it actually useful.

Am I the only SCH who actually manually controls the fairy heals? There's no auto-healing for me. I've always enjoyed both the micro and the predictability in SCH.

The option to split your healing, or focus it on just one is incredibly powerful. In fact, most of my gripe with the recent changes is about SE's move to delegate the fairies to 'minions you can summon in dungeons' status.

They need to give back Sustain! Not only for us, but for the poor Summoners who can't keep their pets alive anymore.

They need to differentiate faeries more. eg; aetherpact on Eos will give a Collective Unconcious like effect and drain the gauge. Using it on Selene will drop a shadow-flare like pool and increase damage done to anything in it by 10%.

And most of all, they need to give us reasons to keep our fae friends alive. Maybe a slowly stacking buff to shield potency over time while Eos is active, and the same type of buff but to damage while Selene is active?
