Would you really want a tank in sentinel gear if it wasn't able to be melded? I sure would not
Well the same is with sorcerer set for mages and mercenary set for lancer+marauder and sipahi for pugilist+archer. Is all the same right? Is still unfair.
Think like this and how you said that just now. If sentinel wasn't meldable who would use it? No one. The other sets and gears that are out there in SH they are kinda useless without the meldable thing.
Still some get a bonus that normal wasn't possible but still stay far from a single or double melded of that piece of gear.
Also I don't see anyone using sentinel trousers. Since they didn't fix on the 1.20 patch people prefer to use felt trousers for the melds.
the devs are so worried about SH gear being OP. the truth is even the best SH gear with one materia on it would not be better then a crafted piece with 2 materia on it which is becoming more and more plentiful.
If people were spending hours farming SH gear then they would probably be SB'ing gear they bought at the wards so it would benefit everyone. i hope the devs come to their senses on this one.
can we get dev response on this sometime soon, its kinda a big deal imo.
I basically think Rare/EX gear should be allowed to be socketed with materia.
Would actually make repeating the encounter/challenge/event/dungeon/NM whatever more needed. Alot of the rare/ex items i find are really crap compared to a crafted item that can have materia put in it.
So whats the point of these rare/ex items if they are significantly weaker?
And with the way materia works you would get an item, put one materia in it, and then try for another to put even more materia in it. Thus 'recycling' (i say loosely) the said encounter/challenge/event/dungeon/NM.
Instead people get what they need and then never do it again (which really isnt much.)
heres the way i think of it:
guys buys gear,
uses gear to get rare gear,
turns crafted gear into materia,
melds u/u gear,
trys to double meld blows up,
buys gear again,
repeat.
it will stimulate the wards, more gear buying more materia melding, more gear farming. everyone wins.
oh why are you guys doing ifrit again, because we blew up all our gear. there you have, extended content.(bases on the presumption that you will be able to meld materia soon without trading)
Yep thats exactly what im thinking how it should work.
as is now they have strong holds which obviously used a lot of resources to make and no one wants to do them because the rewards are absolute junk. If crafted gear is always better then id rather them just put more resources into making more crafted options since the drops are nothing more then novelty trophy pieces.(but i dont want that obsly, i want he devs to come to their senses and make everything meldable with no wacky limitations) the limitation is if you blow it up you gotta get another.
