I think it would be a lot less frustrating for people if there was some legit acknowledgement as its been going on for 6 hours.
Especially when their message is "just wait"

Lol everyone last week was complaining about locking big servers and now its "thanks se".
Itll calm down, chill and read a book or something. When you were kids mom and dad took your games away when you got all worked up. Relax... stop feeding the salt monster.

Well, it's 1:30 AM in japan, maybe they went to bed after their "figure it yourself" advice...
But thats the issue. I have no idea if im supposed to wait for SE to fix it, or if i should stand here spamming it for 5 hours. Its not going to calm down with waiting since pretty well no one is getting through it. So it will just get progressively worse unless SE implements a fix, and more and more ppl will get to that point and get blocked.
Gotta spend more in the mog station so they can afford queues for instances.
Took the day off to play through the MSQ today. Haven't been able to advance it for hours. This is pretty dumb SE.
Took today off also. Haven't been able to progress :(
It would be nice to have a status update or something....
I'm really quite annoyed by this.
There is an update http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...fa58e0d889f6f7
In short, they want us to "deal with it".Quote:
While we have plenty of instances available, to prevent a heavy load on the servers, we are currently limiting the number of players that can enter at a time. If you are unable to enter an instance, we recommend waiting and trying again at a later time.
The thing is people are lining up. and still no one is getting through. Which kind of makes that statement feel like it's wrong. If it's just limited number of ppl, wouldn't some ppl be succeeding in getting in?
Has anyone on here actually got through it?
Phoenix has a queue of people trying to do it and it was a very long queue....
Ill just level rdm and sam in the mean time , and do some sixty dungeons on my tanks try and get as much exp as possible
Yeah, y'know what? We all didn't spend $60 for us to "deal with it" ourselves. I've been civil so far, but this is woefully unacceptable. What's the point of having early access if only serves to mock the players who can't get past the bugs while SE just lets us twist in the wind? All I wanted to do was explore Kugane and match the place with the music. And maybe some dungeon running. While FF14 may not be as successful as WoW (yet), it should most definitely have the funds necessary to support infrastructure and make sure this exact situation doesn't happen. So... I ask you, Square Enix...
Explain yourselves....
People are starting to line up lol

Can confirm it is broken. I went back to bed for a few hours, still broken.
Do you run the SE apologist fan club? Or a share holder in the company? Your posts are the kind that got the ego driven dumpster fire that was 1.o
On the quest note saw lots of people lined up. But no one was reporting they actually finished it. Line was moving but was it moving due to giving up or getting in.
I haven't heard anyone on my server say they've made it through.
Today me too not work :(
deal with it is an unacceptable response. People lose thier minds over class changes before release, that is one thing. This is a justified complaint. People have every right to be upset when this is the kind of communication we get
I say we riot. *BLM staff glows ominously* a few Fire IV's thrown their way oughta get their attention. Warriors, swap your axes for pitchforks.
I don't mind that they haven't fixed it yet. But they really need to say they're working on it, and work on another solution.
You can go from the MSQ not working to leveling up RDM/SAM and have FATE mobs disappear because there are so many people doing them lol
No I just don't see the point in getting worked up for what anyone who has ever been in any expansion knows happens the first day. Early access in this game has always been a nice way of saying "7 day test server". It always happens. You wanna get snippy with me because I had realistic expectations and your toys are broken, go for it man.
Someone in my FC has made it through and he's also done the first Dungeon
the lines are working atleast
There is no way in hell a bottleneck like this could possibly be missed. 50/50 they leave us to figure it out ourselves. However, I'm hoping they actually manage to solve the issue and not "solve the issue" by applying scotch tape and angel tears to the data center they just built.
It wasn't the case in HW, because they weren't stupid enough to put every player in 1 unique 10-15mn roadblocking instanced quest. They put 2 starting zone with content in both of them. Here, we have 1 of those 2 starting zones that have less than 10 quest, before sending you back to the roadblock. So yeah, seeing they did something intelligent that worked in the previous expansion, I didn't expect them to go back to something as dumb as what we have today.
Makes you wonder just what SE paid for with the data center move and server upgrades.
Most recent mmos I have had no such huge issues on launch. The queues for sure are always there on higher pop servers, but I have not experienced anything like this in an mmo in a long time =/
all this data issues with limited instance servers and inventory data issue making log every other mmo has impossible....really makes me wonder sometimes. This game is also newer than a lot of the mmos that have implemented those features, would think the technology was better.
Remembering HW launch I expected smooth experience. This is just awful and I start to regret spending extra cash on collector edition. How come you design a game that you know thousands will play, and don't expect tons of people to try to get through MSQ. It's just beyond me. My hype has gone down a lot within last few hours. Saying it as someone who's been playing since day 1. So much for "early access". I'm tired of hearing bullshit like 'server limitations' and what not, yet making tons of cash shop items and merchendise to cash the hell out of this game. Spend those profits to actually prevent nonsene like this from happening in the future.
Really does make me think SE underestimate just how many people planned to play it today, did they think people wouldn't book time off work or take a 'holiday' from school. >.> <.< >.>
Same exact thing happened in ARR also, not being able to do anything with instanced servers...I think it took over a day to fix too
If I had to guess I would guess they don't want to make infrastructure changes for a problem that is only there for 1 or 2 days every 2 years (when expansion releases) and is a non-factor all other times. Sad but might be true
Just allow us to skip the gameplay part of the instance, watch the cutscene and move on :(
