Unfortunately, unless my game's settings bugged out, it resets to its previous size every time you oog out.

I don't see any such option.Quote:
You have to right click and hold, while holding you can then left click the scale window option
Again, why can't it just be in the HUD layout options like everything else?
100% main menu and npc dialog way too small, 150% display names/hover text way too big, either way really hurts the eyes... please fix soon SE!
Again, when I click it just advances the dialog. No menu options appear for me, even if I hold.
SE please, just put both the NPC dialog and the (crossbar style) main menu in the HUD Layout menu where they belong, so we can resize them in the natural place where people will look for the ability to do so. Oh, and while you're at it, put all the hidden windows for where various notifications appear there, too.
It's ridiculous to have to track down obscure hidden features like turn on mouse mode then hold R2 while pressing L2 as well (which you don't do anywhere else and isn't documented) to bring up a hidden menu. You clearly added a resize feature to the dialog box. Why hide it like that, when we have a whole HUD Layout section specifically for doing such things?
Thank you for the hint! It works wonders! I can get around the tiny menu but the dialog box were really a downer.
For those having trouble with the simulated right click be sure to be talking with a npc. For some reason you can't access the right click menù if you're into a cutscene of a main quest
The mouse mode trick works, but one you click the R2 button to grab the dialogue box, you cannot release it while you navigate the menu. You have have it continually pressed down. It's weird, but I was able to keep everything at the 100% mark while blowing up the dialogue box to a comfortable 140%.
Thank you.
That's only one of the issues with that setting. It's not just the name plates that end up huge. It's everything. You have to completely redo your entire HUD if you change that. (And then presumably redo it yet again once the issue is fixed.) The name plates just stand out as the worst of the problem because it's something you cannot adjust back down through HUD Layout or a window resize.
It's why I prefer just resizing the dialog box up and putting up with the tiny main menu until the fix is in place. So suggesting that (and explaining the rather obscure way to do it) as an alternative way to address the problem in the meantime might have been useful.
It seems the "Scale Window" option on the dialog box only works for the duration of one login session. Please save that info with the rest of our HUD settings so we don't have to re-do it every time we log in.
Besides the dialog box and main menu, notification text (like retainer sales or gathering results) that shows up in the center of the screen is also much smaller than before. Personally, I rather like that part of the change, since it was rather large and in the way before, but there's probably people who don't. Now if only we could control its placement and get it off the center of the screen...
Just bring back the 'Full-HD' option, it was good. I never understand why devs do changes that mess up stuff even more. smh.
Well, there was my problem.Quote:

Sounds like nobody bothered to beta test the PS4 version. That's the only explanation how something like this got past QA.
This. So much. I've actually got the UI looking pretty close to what it was, except the dialog box and options menu. The only one that bothers me really is the dialog box, having to reset it every time. Plus finding an NPC that talks long enough to change the settings.
Yeah having the scale window settings for each window carry over each log in would be a start, its a temporary work around for the moment at best, annoying having to do it every log in. I hope this is fixed soon, Someone in the QA team really dropped the ball, did literally no-one test it on a standard ps4?
Ok got a sort of workaround theres a couple of steps to add in to make the above suggestion work. with your current preferred hud layout. go to System > Hud layout. Then go the little settings icon and copy your preferred hud like 1 to say 4 as a default baseline for how you have it set ( this might not help if you use 4 differnt huds for stuff. so now 1 and 4 should be the same, now make sure you are on hud 1. go and do the above System config > user inteface size 100%. NOW go to default UI size and set it to 140% and apply all. this will mess up your HUD. but if you go back to hud layout and go to HUD 4 it should go back to your preferred settings now just copy 4 to 1 using the setting button. The main menu will still be small but all other windows should be ok now. I think. Ive not tested if this carries over ok through logins as im scared to log out and test it due to queues right now, but i think it should work.
While you acknowledge this, some of your other players using PS4 will just continue staring at the download screen of a fat 22.7 mb redownload because your launcher seems it can't recognize the file that's already there. Thanks.
I'm not bothered by the UI change. But then I play on my PC monitor and sit pretty close to the display compared to my TV setup so I can understand why people are complaning on the size
Thank you! Been toying around with the UI settings since 4.0 for quite some time I found I just couldn't stand with the 150% name plates, haha. Thanks for addressing this issue, kudos to dev team.
Am I the only one here who actually likes the smaller text sizes???
100% this. It's such a huge oversight. And to adjust it by using the virtual mouse and right click it I need to find an NPC with at least two pages of dialog. If it's just one page right clicking the window just advances the text and (since it's just one page) ends the conversation and the text box closes..
Is there ever gonna be an update on when this will be fixed? It's rather annoying to deal with. I thought this emergency maintenance would also fix this UI issue for PS4 but I was wrong. Even with the temporary fix, having to do it every time you log in is just tedious. Plus, I noticed when going into different zones, the NPC dialogues go back to being small. :/ I would really love if they gave more of an update on this problem.
I don't get how they easily overlooked such a thing too.
Agreed. Main menu....tiny. Garden dialog boxes.....tiny. NPC dialog boxes.....tiny. Notifications.....tiny. Where's the fix? :(
By all means, please take your time in making sure the program works properly. More time developed means less bugs.
Awesome! I'm so glad that you guys are working on a fix for it! Thank you for hearing us out!
From someone who doesn't see all that well, thank you, thank you, thank you for this!
dont work here
It's not out yet - they're still working on it. :)
Glad this is being addressed! My eyes can't take it anymore, so I had to borrow Nidhogg's.
