When can we make lalaqotes?

Hybrid races? Yes please. I'd want to try Roelf, an elf with some strength, height and hardiness.

Eorzea probably does have decently advanced birth control, anyway; with three kinds of magic-based healers running around, there's gotta be a spell for that, if not several.

Atm, the whole of FFXIV... There are no other hybrids in existence or mention as far as i know of. Proof otherwise welcome.

I'd like to know this as well. Given the race poll they gave out before 2.0 came out listed hybrid races as one of the options, it seems to me this hasn't been explicitly stated one way or the other in lore.

Their lack of presence in game is the same reason we never saw a half Elezen till Hilda or a Mi'qitten till the one in Mor'dona. It's not important enough until the need arises to show them. Until they are ready, the model isn't in game so there is nothing to sprinkle them around with.



As for people worrying about adding childlike races to the game. Please, stop projecting. ERPer's exist and will always exist and nothing you, me, or anyone does is going to stop them from their ERPing. They are a very small fraction of the community and as such design decisions should not be made around them.

Look I'll be frank. Being 100% unrepentantly judgemental here, ERPer's are fricking weird, their ERP is full of cringe, and I wouldn't mind at all if they all suddenly vanished. However, they are not hard to ignore/block and their actions don't actually hurt anyone. So why bend over backwards to mildly inconvenience them?

Well, there is that nice gay couple living with the Tonberrys. Miq and Roe or Hyur...I can't remember. Maybe that's why they're living with the Tonberrys.

I was meaning besides Half-Elezen (believing Elezen and Hyur the only ones able to create mixed race individuals), i truly wish they were a third option to Elezen in game as a playable race (Hyur frame, Elezen movement/ emotes, scalable ears, ect...).

They left their home village because they were in a mixed-species relationship. They stayed with the Tonberries because the Tonberries patched them back up after stabbing them like, just a BUNCH at the start of the dungeon once we cleared Wanderer's Palace the first time.

Alternatively, it gives them a form of release that is not harmful to REAL children. I'd much rather these folks fap to their kiddie toons than abduct a real child. I seriously doubt animated child porn is going to increase the likelihood that a pedo crosses the line, more than the frustration of having NO safe outlets does.

Regardless, other points still stand; it harms the company image as a whole to be associated with things like this. Let the proto-pedos find their safe release elsewhere. Japan has a smorgasbord available!

I remember back in the 1.0 beta, someone had posted a screenshot of their redheaded lalafell with ears and a tail. It was the most glorious thing ever. I don't need some pocket sized miqo - give me that lala belly and stoutness with a tail and ears and I'd be thrilled.

Some people here are using the same logic that our usual suspects when charging against video games: violence, women objectification and similar yada yada. A digital character is not real so no one it hurts, before you say anything check my avatar, if I were in charge of this game all NPC would look mature (around their 30) and no Lalas. Why? I can relate to chars around this age more easily.

But there are companies out there that do not want thier products to be connected to certain things, like pedophiles, which child characters used wrong can bring.
Whether or not someone is hurt or not, being associated with something negative can hurt the product and the company.

Could be that ears/tails arent dominant traits ;)

If you're gonna mix 1 race, you'd better mix all of them. I'd love for a Roe'qote/High'qote. I'd imagine they'd come out like Felicia.

Hasn't anyone ever heard of the "Kid hero" trope? Its used alot in rpgs and shonen shows. Look at Hunter x Hunter.

If it was me I would remove all the "Sexy" outfits as I don't see them fit in with fantasy overall.
But this is a Final Fantasy game, there's always been more or less of sexy characters in them. And it's a Japanese game, and Japan tend to overuse the sexy theme in alot of games in my opinion. Fanservice!
Not much I can do about it though. It's something I can live with since I am not forced to wear it myself.
Anyone else who wants to are free to do so.

Personally I didn't care that the Elins in TERA (I played the "male version" Popori. Who can resist the fat furballs =P) looked like children. In the end it's just a game.
What I do care about though is whether or not the company/game will get a bad reputation for something they didn't intent it for.

The question about if it's too young or not comes down alot to cultural differences.

I love that trope! When I used to play Wakfu, my favorite class was the eliotrope, who basically was a 12 year old child who could cast portals. There is even an animated series about the first one which is very enjoyable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KK9i1O8boos

Anyways, the Kid Hero is a fun trope to play. Unfortunately, FFXIV adventurers are all adult. Well, maybe you could slip a lalafell into that trope since their age is indeterminate; but other than that, we don't have the option. It would require an overhaul of the character creation system and I just don't see SE wanting to do that when they could be creating new content instead.

As usual, I don't understand why everyone is talking about sex just because someone mentioned children. Last I checked, FFXIV is mostly a combat game.

Alot of games use children as protagonists and it works perfectly fine. (I believe I've heard that is some cases the age of the protagonists are raised for the western market to not be too young.)
But we live in the age where everything is offending someone.
And where the news of it can spread like wildfire and make it larger than it really is.
