Fuga Attire and Eastern Stretch emote added to Mogstation

It's precicely cause the playerbase doesn't care and goes on paying for way overpriced items from Cash shop, that they keep doing this. I've been in the game since launch and we used to be given cool items with additional quests and events (example the Shantotto questline which gave us a minion, the quests for the 3 dances in each of the major cities,...).
But ever since they released Cash shop there's been nothing like this anymore.
I get that SE is a business trying to make money, but honestly, the sub is expensive enough, in fact this is one of the highest subs out there atm. In addition, most people even pay extra because they hire additional retainers, which again cost extra PER MONTH as well. Rather than buying inventory space we rent it. I never heard of any game handling it that way. All I see is a company getting increasingly greedy.
I know I'm gonna get hate from you again for saying this but I feel like what they doing with Cash Shop is way over the top and players have a right to be angry about it.

This is a case we need to judge with our wallets. Sales reached the expected amount? Mission accomplished, good job for the marketing team.

They are optional items, after all. Don't like (item or price doesn't matters), don't buy.

Because its F2P tactics and prices in a B2P/P2P game. Charging 7$ per emote, 15-18$ per outfit and 15-30$ per mount in a free to play game makes sense. This is where they make the bulk of their money.

The bigger the cash shop, the less your subscription fee gets you.

I'm not unreasonable, I'd be more inclined to partake in this if things cost 1/3 what they do now and were account based, but oh well.

My only objection is that it's not good looking. A chestwrap that makes boobs smaller yet again, combined with a bathrobe and a regular skirt. Not impressed lol.

"Used"? We still do.

If you're referring to seasonal events, the items I noted above were not part of seasonal events, they were quests added with a normal patch. There has been nothing added we didn't have to pay for outside of seasonal events in a long time.

Shantotto was a seasonal event, the 3 city-based dances were not.

Also, long time? Last emote we got within the game was /spectacles, which was January. Naturally we wouldn't get more emotes between then and now because Stormblood is the focus, and we'll obviously be getting a lot of emotes and quest rewards through that.

What season would that be exactly?

But it matters little, my point is, they've started drastically reducing stuff we get for free in the game ever since they introduced Cash Shop. And since this is not a F2P game, I feel this isn't ok.
At the very least they should put this stuff up for reasonable prices.

I agree, but to be fair, there is more in the game than in the Mog Station.

Why not wait 2 weeks and look first to the lv61+ recipes in the crafting recipe book before running to the barricade?
I'm sure there will be enough eastern glamour gear for everyone who have +5m gil (special first week price in the market board).

Nowhere is written that you have to buy the new gear in the mog shop before SB.

We still get emotes and outfits in game. Moonlift dance, Moogle dance, spectacle emote, Vanu Vanu outfits, the flying chair mount in MGS, all obtainable in game. And that has all been in the last half year or so.

This. Yet another item I'll be going without because I can't justify £55 (£11.6 x 5) for the characters I play over level 50, it's ridiculous. I should be able to enjoy items I've purchased across my entire playtime, not a portion of it, without spending a fortune.

There of course will be recipes in the expansion, but they won't be putting Mog Station items in recipes. Can we make Y'sthola's or Thancred's gear? I did buy the item because I personally like it, I have now bought two optional items from the Mog Station, minus Fantasias(the white magitek reaper because of Steel Reason and Fuga set).

I am still iffy about purchasing emotes, but the new emote looks pretty good imo.

There are alot of glam options in the game now. I just ask why not add it to the game? Someone mentioned before we are already paying more per month to "rent" space in the game. I not resistant to a cash shop. But you when you have F2p features in your game like retainers, adding $18 2-piece costumes and 7 emotes (half a sub-fee) is going overboard. The summer event the year before last, a dance was $2...why is a bow now $7 dollars?? A stretch $7 dollars?? Its definitely getting out of hand. Before HW they didnt trying to sell us all this glamour before expansion. SB there has been 3 separate occasions where they have tried to sell us "eastern glamours". I would say definitely getting greedy.

The glamour doesn't appeal to me (I havent changed from my Feast Season 1 Top 100 glamour since I got it), but I got the emote.

Everything in the cash shop is optional, if you dont have the expendable income to pay for it, then don't pay for it, it's really that simple. There is so much available to glamour this far into the game's lifespan, there's no reason to be so bent out of shape about a brand-new set added to the Mogstation. If it bothers you that much, get a job, work an extra shift, etc. to justify paying for it. You dont need to have everything, that's ridiculous.

I don't believe in an expendable income. You pay for something because you want it regardless of the cost and you work around it imo.

A lot of people dislike it so they won't buy it, that's fine. Refusing to buy something just because it is on the Mog Station that is puzzling to me. If you are committed to buy something you are committed to buying it, if you don't want to buy it then you never really wanted it in the first place right?

That is how I am at least. I buy things because I want them, I support things because I want to support things.

Why do people not have to have money to be offended by pricing? I don't use daraprim but am offended when someone decided to gouge customers.

The only solid statement you can make. Is SE has set a very high pricing structure and to expect cash shop items to be X dollar each time per character. This is not new, and people should expect it.

Things that are unknown or untrue.

1) People can't afford it
2) These wouldn't exist if not for cash shop
3) This is an amusement park type expense. NO NO NO. When I go somewhere with extras, prices are laid out and in place. We have yet to see a dev or SE rep come on here and define what my sub entitles me to and what I must pay extra for.
4) The prices can't be argued it's subjective. Really? The world has nothing you can compare designing one in game outfit. The guys who have games on steam for $18 dollars didn't design any character models and put clothes on them.

The "you don't have to buy it" argument is fine and dandy and all but at this point, SE has become our stereotypical crack dealer: yesterday, you got your fix for you and your friends for for next to nothing; today you barely get your dose and it'll cost you your arm, leg and wife and kids.

I have five fully leveled alts (not counting those not leveled) and I pay a extra sub each month to have them up to 8 per server. If I were to buy the emotes and outfit for my main and those alts it would cost me 150 dollars US. To say that isn't a bit ridiculous is a bit over the top. I personally don't have an issue with reasonably priced items on Mogstation but the account locking to one character is just pain wrong in my opinion and really needs to stop.

As we can see, it leads to more and more items added and rising prices. I can't imagine that is what the people want.

I for one do not mind supporting the game by buying the occasional thing here and there but the prices are to high and living in Canada with our dollar gone to hell it's a lot worse for me. Since the beginning of May I have spent out $325 on the Stormblood expansion, another 18$ for sub / $130 for the 3 Fan festivals and now another 22$ for this outfit. I know its my choice to do this and I will live with it but in the end it cost me $500 for a game update, a few in game items and a small statue and art book and that is way to much.

Voting with your wallet is not the only way to make them understand how we feel. People need to understand that just because someone disagrees with you that you need to force them to not express how they feel about a subject. I bought the emote but I agree 100% with the people who say that with a subscription we shouldn't have to buy glamour for $18.

Maybe a solution could be to increase the sub to around $18 per month and no that will solve the mog station problem..maybe. Would anyone be ok with that solution? $15 is probably too low for subscription these days for them so we need to find a new a solution or we need to ask them that if they do this because $15 is too low. Would be nice if someone asked this at the live letter. Is $15 too low of a subscription for FFXIV? Would a subscription $18 or $20 stop mog station glamour from happening?

Because value and worth are entirely subjective. People determine what is worth their money and what is not. If SE goes too far those people will stop buying, it's really that simple. It is not really the customer's job to restrict their purchasing something they want for the sake of a greater good. There are things in the real world where the logic applies, but here, I really don't see it. It's still a game and virtual items at the end of the day.

The price of admission is your sub. Snacks and rides are extra. They are optional, you don't have to buy them. They are of course overpriced, and you may feel its "not the same without" and to a point you're right. But they call XIV an amusment park after all, this is the standard practice of movie theaters, amusment parks and most forms of social entertainment going back to at least the 1940s. I don't see a few complaints and demands for "free stuff" changing the STO here.

Complaining about the price or the fact it's bound only to one character is fine, but people tossing around the argument that nothing should to be added to the cash shop at this point is just a waste of time. It's not going anywhere and they're not going to stop.

The outfit has some nice pieces, but the stretch looks exactly like the male miqo'te stretch emote from the picture.

Can't say I'm surprised - it's consistent with how they've handled cosmetic items that are first available in either the Korean or Chinese versions of the game.

Doubt it. There are probably people who don't care about the cash shop or just buy things if they like it but not all the time or just ignore it and would rather not have their sub increase overall by 20-33%. Not to mention it being bad PR/PR suicide as competitor subs would still be $15.

Right now it's just optional. Pay more or don't, but the actual game is still about the same price.

The majority of the populace in most modern countries support politics and systems that only benefit the top 10% of the income curve. Most people do not act in their own best interest, they act against it, as crazy as it seems.

The risk in doing that is you make it more expensive monthly and potentially lose customers/players due to that expense.

Compulsory? No. Way.
With the mogstation I can choose not to spend money on stuff that doesn't interest me. (Which happens to be everything on there, safe for the eastern dance and this newest piece of glamour and I'm still debating if I really want either of them)

Paying an increased sub just for the sake of having access to things I don't want is not worth it to me.

As an option?
What might be interesting is a third tier of subscription (additional retainer fees not withstanding) where you can choose to pay extra to get everything added to the mogstation while you're maintaining the increased sub for free. (I was going to say an increased sub that includes access to everything on the mogstation but that would come with the issue of people subbing to it for a month to get everything then drop to a cheaper sub until something new they want gets added.)
Or outright mogstation seasonpasses. For whatever reason people seem to be fond of buying those in other games.
