I've been waiting for a Jacket outfit like this but sadly the tie is the only part that I would like to remove. I certainly won't be using the shoes as it does not fit into the glamour design I've been tyring to make for a long time.

They are a bit stuck here. A lot of people wanted something from Tataru since she was making outfits for everyone else but for a player character practically any outfit they made is going to be loved by some and hated by others. A lot of people in my FC are really excited for this, a few don't really care one way or another and a few don't like it.

I don't think there is an outfit they can produce that everyone will like.

I love it, please give us the hairstyle as well >.<

Since when does a blazer, pants, and tie = school uniform? I like it and it's consistant with the other outfits Tataru made. Some of you are difficult to please, but I gurentee those same people will glamor it anyway :p

Of course for the team designing something which pleases everyone is an impossibility. I dont really see it as a school unifrom and more of a Scholarly.Sharlayan style of glamour which suits the vibe of the scions which is what i'm guessing they were aiming for.

Especially since people were asking about inclusion into the whole scion vibe

Id give the jacket a chance but its got nothing on the garo caster jacket so probably use it for an alt glamour or different job. Dont care for the rest of it at all though.

The jacket would make a cool MCN glam, I also like the symbol on the back ^^
I just hope we'll be abble to store it in the armoire !

Problom is we don't know if this is the outfit were getting for all we know it could be a randome glamor outfit or something but idk personal I like it and I normaly don't use full sets I like to mix and match but I might use this full set I like it its pretty cute

I like the hairstyles and I can definitely imagine the outfit looking well on some of my characters (definitely my fem roe who rocks skirts like that) but....

Are we really a Scion ? I mean I always thought we were some kind of....freelancer working with them, no really being one but I might be wrong, if so, I want a mark too please !

Well idk i like to think we are a scion only cas they keep asking us for our input for everything like were the leader or something if not us then alphi and at this last patch storry it definitely gives off the vibe of "hey teammate we value you and your input"

IIRC the tattoos mark them as a member of Louisoix's Circle of Knowing. This group merged with Minfilia's Path of the Twelve to form the Scions in 2.0.

I think it looks pretty nice. I'd like it if it were dyeable so we could at least have our own personal touch to it.

Let's be honest with ourselves though for a moment. If a NPC had shown up wearing that exclusively as their own fashion/look we would probably have a ton of requests asking for it to be added to the mogstation or something D:

It is an optional glamour piece, it will have no stats and can be used on all jobs, doesn't matter if it's a quest reward or crafted, still optional to wear it.

We are scions, and so are those regular NPCs you see hanging around in the Rising Stones, that's the whole reason why we visit them in the Waking Sands after Copperbell NM MSQ, they ask us to join them.

By optional I mean coming from optional content such as the crafted sailor suit.
In my opinion this outfit does not fit the main scenario as the WoL is a soldier and not a school girl/boy.

It's fine if other people like it or use it. I'm expressing my disappointment that we didn't get something more adult/fantasy styled.

This design is actually quite basic when it comes to School Uniform design in any JRPG or Anime.

It is mostly just adjusting the appearance of the design to fit the academy or group they are in if the Uniform is used for a more official organization theme.

Well the world of FF14 is one giant mix bowl of different type of fantasy and Sci-fi theme stuff. We have Garlean Empire for stuff like working train stations, flying battle ships, Giant Mechs and Walkers, and Photon Guns on the Walkers (aka basically laser machine guns). Then we have the Fantasy from different cultures all over the world outside of Garlemald.

There is also the question of how would the outfit be suited for a universal use because the outfit design will have to be suited to fit for all Jobs.

Its based on a seifuku design. I'm okay with it. Might wear it when I get bored of my current glam.

i love the people who are upset over this. It's literally impossible for SE to satisfy everyone with one design so they made it a nice outfit that wasn't already in the game. If it was some epic he-man armor (which, by the way, would not make sense for tataru to make), lots of people would not like it. that's what glamouring is for. If you hate it so much, just pretend it isn't there while the rest of us can enjoy it.

I wish the jackets were either longer in the back or cropped shorter all round, but otherwise I think its alright. Probably will be using the shoes the most tho, cause they're the cutest piece I think :3

If it was like an armor reinforced leather outfit and didnt have the tie it would look notably more serious at least. Its still okay though.

The zettai ryouki fetish looks awful on lalafell. The male one will certainly be fine, but the female one will be out of place just like every other fetish wear.

It looks nice in the artwork, but i know it's not gonna look good on me in the game.

Also, Eorzea is now a high school i guess.

Hmm... I wish the jacket on the male was longer, but overall it can be a dapper look and goes well with the only two fedora options we have at the moment. I'm a highlander, hope it doesn't look weird on me. They look like they were specifically made for Midlanders and Miqotes (to be fair, it's prob the majority of the playerbase.)

Though I am not surprised with the complaining since when people think the world of FF14 they think of things more fantasy like such as long coats and fancy hats. This Uniform type outfit has been the most basic JRPG outfit for some JRPGs considering a versatile of different JRPG characters wear School uniforms in combat but mostly involving a type of Combat Academy.

honestly, it looks very similar to some of the shire gear so I think that people are only pissed because it's attached to the MSQ. Because of this, I kind of wish it was obtained through some other easy method so they would not complain about it being forced upon their character or something. That being said, I think that it's very selfish of some of the community to criticize a free outfit that some people really want just because they don't like the look of it.
