It doesn't even feel like there was a patch today, just feels like a normal reset day.
I really find a great fight and boss, i don't mind it replace the Succ.
So, where do you get the quest to do Ultima?
EDIT: Since no one posted it. You get the quest Unidentified Flying Object in Idyllshire by the goblin melder.
The only thing I can find even mildly entertaining is what Proto Ultima must have done to that poor succubus.
Wow...talk about disappointment...
Between this..."24 man raid" and the cash shop stuff I dunno anymore. Really dunno what to say :/
For the first time since 1.0 launch I am questioning to keep playing if we can expect this kind of misdirection with stormblood.
So basically, you activate the quest in Idyllshire, go to Dun Scaith, face Proto-Ultima and get a free 270 accessory? Do you get to choose the accessory? I mean, my main is PLD but I play 24-man as DRG to shorten queue times.
Considering her low self-worth (unfit to cower in the queens shadow) she probably just tore off her own wings and jumped off the island, leaving an empty circular arena for Pultima to occupy.
If the handmaiden was still around to watch us faceroll him, she'd proabably feel a bit better about herself ^^
Just be grateful you didn't have to pay for access in the mog station ;)
Please...just remove this awful fight SE and add it when you can actually make it less of a faceroll -_-
SE doesn't owe anyone anything. Who cares if it's easy? If it was difficult-- ppl would just complain about that, until someone found a way to skip a mechanic that was causing problems then all you would see is "must be able to skip Proto Ultima sonic ardor blast or disband" etc. Honestly-- all the complaints in this thread make people sound super entitled. Some fights are amazing. Some are not. Move on folks.
What I find funny is that on Sunday someone in alliance chat said: "Did that fight(Handmaiden) last longer than the boss fight(Ferdiad) we just did?" and yet what we got is this?! a fight thats over before you know it.
it went from a hyped up 1st ever 24-man trial to a 2min trash mob
Yeah, I was a bit disappointed that it's just a miniboss in existing content rather than its own thing. It's free 270 stuff either way, but it could have been more.
All I want to know is do u still get weekly coin and dun scathe drops and this
I'd have been ok with SE pulling a Brayflox on this one. Reduce the Handmaidens max HP by 50% so she doesn't last as long, and then when she's almost dead have P-Ultima drop down and frag her before turning on us
I'm surprised there haven't been any complaint threads over the relic being too easy yet.
Just when I thought SE couldn't make any stupider decisions, they pull this stunt. They really never cease to amaze me.
Honestly only thing keeping me here right now is my static. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt this time and assume they're trying to tide people over until SB releases, but I see anything like this occurring in SB then that'll be it for me. I'll start looking for new games to play in the mean time.
I'm not even sure how to put into words how terrible a comparison that is.

People are more upset about the lazy application of Ultima. People expected a separate 24 man trial. Not them just slapping him in a pre-made dungeon. They could have been creative with it but sadly they dropped the ball hard. They could have just saved the development time, if they are going half do something. They could have just added in accessories to the dungeon and called it a day. I have a question. Why is Ultima even there? What is the lore behind it?
You cannot compare the two, Odin is leaps and bounds better with his own storyline, and a visually and mechanically interesting fight at its release.
For Pultima, The setting is different, he doesn't really fit there as a boss, and he is being manhandled by players well past his difficulty. At the least, people were expecting a trial, a proper battle. You don't advertise for trash mobs.
I thought there were more changes for Odin? I wasn't at any of the fanfests (digital for HW atleast) but from what I know Odin was atleast harder then the Fanfest version with the inability to Silence being just one reason why.
I also wasn't expecting Ultima to be the hardest thing ever. Just not on the level of trash mobs.
Phew, I was worried that this patch might take away some of my time from no-lifing the Revelation Online open beta. Thank god I worried for nothing!
