The main niche of final fantasy is jobs a expansion with one or no jobs would cause a riot.

I think well get 2 "dps" classes myself, namely cuz of the battle system rework. if we do get a third maybe a DoL class, but if it is DoL related might just be a new DoL ish system namely something based around mob farming "skinner" trait etc
"it was too tiring implementing Swimming & Swimming areas that we had to scrap Dancer,Blue Mage, and the idea for a new race along with the plans for a race/graphics overhaul" i kid i kid :x
I'm really hoping for more than 2 classes but at the moment even hearing that they have double the budget of HW I'm about the same level of excitement for a new patch then a expansion even though we have had 2 fanfests pass already
The two jobs I would like to see won't be in SB, one of them may never be in XIV. What I am malms more interested in at this point is the reworked cross-class and battle systems. I don't really care about new jobs, I wanted/needed DRK and SE delivered. That and PLD is all I care to use until I get a warhammer wielding Judge job for content, and/or Morpher for fun, which I fully admit will not be happening.
Wait until Fanfest to see. But If it is just 2 dps classes, then RIP duty finder.
=_= That would be XIIth Legion Legatus Zenos yae Galvus. NPCs don't necessarily have the same classes/jobs or weapons players do. All I'm saying it's still not confirmed at this point.

I think there'll be 3 jobs
Second will be rentboy (a tank), and third will be plastic surgeon (healer)
SE can change this at any point if they want to as its their product. Besides, the pre-order/collectors version only have Digital items relating to RDM so when they announce SAM at EU fanfest they will most likely also show another digital set of items related to that job. Although its also entirely possible that they only made items for the pre-orders for RDM as SE is a little more biased towards it as its one of their original/OG jobs.
Reguardless of the CE having an item for RDM that doesn't mean there will only be RDM added. That's just the item they wanted to add since they already revealed that class. I doubt they add more rewards to CE for the other unannounced classes. They most likely will add some MGP items like before. Also there WILL be more than one job added. In multiple posts YP stated Jobs as a plural. Including the Jump Potions.. "...they will not apply to the new jobs coming in Stormblood..." We don't know what job(s) will be added but you can bet your money we'll find out in FFEU.
Also I doubt they add a DoL or DoH because YP said he didn't care for the crafting/gathering aspects of the game. It might be cool but personally, I'd rather have a fighting class. Plus with the battle system revamp it seems they are trying to make more complex jobs (Blue Mage) possible without cluttering our hotbars to heck.
Two weeks to go guys.
Ravana and primals are not jobs. But if he was he's more inclined to be a WAR then SAM, he may use blades but his ultimate literally includes the Deliverance orbs that absorb into your character. I want SAM to be a Tank as much as the next pro SAM tank but I don't think this is a hint towards it in any way. Don't lose hope regardless though, they can't include 2 DPS right? Hahah...Ha.. Hah. I think they might
Unfortunately yes. DPS/Healer and DPS/Tank will still be pretty bad trying to find that last role while doing the level 50 + process, but it will definitely beat DPS/DPS. Also DPS/DPS won't be nearly as exciting as DPS/Tank and DPS/Healer when appealing to the raid scene, it will be super boring imo :(
I see mostly people who don't even gather or craft ask for this... I don't gather but I do craft. I can say, why would you in any world want a new crafter? The gameplay of crafting doesn't change one bit from crafter to crafter, there is no need for another. Also it's "Multiple Jobs" not "Multiple Classes" and DoL and DoH are classes, not jobs.
The removed tweet about RDM being one of the two jobs troubles me. I can think of the following possibilities. Given that they removed it, they obviously didn't want to have an official 2 job statement to become official.
Why? One reason could be the "surprise" factor. Another could be the fact that they want people to pre-order with the expectation of there being 3 jobs when in reality there will only be 2.
As for the possibility of 2 jobs that are both dps, it is tricky indeed. However, given that they are aware of the potential DF imbalances, they could be doing something interesting with the already existing tank/healers.
the thing they were talking about at pre heavensward was not not having a third job it was about the way the released nin at the end of arr and then having 3 jobs to work on for heavensward that they didn't want to repeat
Dam didnt think this will get so big.
There will be 2 job for 100%?
Where people get this from?
2 dps and then rip df.
As a tank i want it, 100k + for a dungeon run .
I really think its going to be 2 dps and PoTD was added as a way to deal with queue times.
Most tanks/healer may try a dps but the majority will go back to their main job so the imbalance wont be long term.
They cant balance 3 tanks/healers so they should probably hold off until 5.0 before adding more
My bet is 3 new jobs.
Red Mage
Samurai
Freelancer
How long you play mmo?
80% (or so) are dps.add 2 and rip df for the 5 new msq dungeons.no potd help you there.
Let's just cover our ears and eyes to how popular Samurai is (The all but confirmed job), and be totally surprised when the tank population does go down because they switched to SAM. I've literally seen Tanks want SAM DPS so they can switch off Tank to main DPS.
I'll stick to tanking in raids myself if SAM is a DPS, outside of raid I will play the hell out of SAM. I can wait in queues for 30+ mins if I have to, I'll just do other things while tabbed out. I guess I'm part of the problem but I'm willing to wait in those queue times so /shrug. Not everyone is though, with limited game time to just get stuff done. I think they'll enjoy -5 min queue times, +30 mins? not so much.
I can see now all thew gil i make if they dont add a new tank.
100k for a dungeon run
I see this comment a lot as reason for why there won't be or shouldn't be a new tank or healer... and it's completely unsubstantiated. They have had far more time and money to work on Stormblood than they did with HW. And by this logic, they shouldn't release a tank or healer in 5.0 either because they "can't balance them"... since apparently no amount of time is enough to create a "balanced" tank or healer.
But all the tanks in this game have a plce, have good balance.
If any thing some dps have a balance problem.
I expect 3. The expsion is more expensive than Heavensward (HW cost 35€, Stormblood is 40€), so, yes. More moeny, I expec more things.
Exactly. Also, any arguments about balance as it is now can go completely out the window because Stormblood is raising the level cap, with new abilities, and as such we don't know how the balancing will be at the new level 70 cap. It's plausible SE decided to leave the current situation in it's current balance because they know at 70 it's going to be different etc.
Even then, the state of balance between Warriors and Paladins in 2.0 didn't stop them from adding Dark Knight in 3.0, and other MMO's such as WoW (The ridiculous constantly imbalanced mess that it is) never let that stop them from adding new classes.
At least 2 jobs. From the Stormblood web page: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/stormblood/
"New jobs, including red mage"
I'd love it if Samurai was the second class, but I'm already pleased that Red Mage will be playable.
Reason i believe it will be two new dps is cuz it would be easier to balance them alongside also adding combat system changes. I can appreciate believing class balance in MMOs happens "naturally", but i am pretty sure there is nothing natural about it and it requires just as much attention as any other aspect of the game. (hell even now there are classes that are a bit off the mark even with tweaks in a patch by patch basis)
Definitely agree with this, dont get me wrong career tanks and healers deserve something nice and engaging as well, its just that it seems within the confines of this system that its really hard to make an especially unique tank or healer at this point. The system change might alleviate some issues with identity, or bring some uniformity into the mix, but I'm not certain that that will be enough to warrant a new job in those roles. They could, though and probably will surprise me however
You act like the DPS they've added to the game haven't just been rehashes of what we have already. NIN is a melee DPS with positionals except with the mudra system tacked on. MCH is incredibly similar to BRD as well just with a more complex rotation. To say that new tanks and healers can't have or are harder to design unique mechanics while DPS can is a joke, especially since pretty much any mechanic you can create for a DPS can be used on a tank as well barring things that are impossible or detrimental for tanks to do, such as making themselves take more damage, or positionals.
How much more evidence does this forum need before you finally accept that Samurai is the second job? It was even literally said during an in-game event that RDM and SAM were the next new jobs.
Oh it only seems like i was saying that, but I'm not. My opinion of the "new" jobs from HW is pretty splayed out all over the forums here, but ok let me give you an example: What is the typical response when we state what the next tank or healer is going to be like?
Its always "its gotta compete with warriors slot, or scholar needs competition" DPS? "we need a sword dps job"
Albeit getting a "gun dps job" ended up being what it was, it definitely didnt have to be how SE made it
