If you have something to say, prove it with facts, not BS made up in your head.

BS made up in my head? it's sad that you play archer and haven't figured it out for yourself. i haven't provided anything? lol your LS members didn't even know about damage cap on NMs and you've been doing them for how long? try playing with your eyes open for a bit the numbers are right in front of you.
Says the guy who doesn't know about arrow affinity.
THM can't heal and Dex doesn't do anything.
@Phrozen I used to think you knew what you were talking about but once I saw things for myself, I felt like an idiot for taking your word for so long. Why Natsuka actually has you in the LS is beyond me. I honestly feel bad for WithFrosted
THM can't heal dont invite them to party.
Archer is the worst DD.
Who cares. Get to explaining your 'facts' on why red coral arrows on nm's weak to them do less dmg than silver.
So what your saying is you don't know which arrows to use on which nm's. Okay thanks for clearing that up.
Great Buffalo weak to: Iron Swallow Tail
Goblin weak to: Red Corral
Dedore weak to: Silver
Mosshorn weak to: Iron Swallow Tail
Uraeus weak to: Red Corral
No, burden of proof is on you.
I'm not talking weakness to water thats just your weak attempt at changing the subject from your unsubstantiated comments.
You said theres a dmg cap per shot, silver arrows are the best and red coral are garbage. As you can see with iron swallowtail its the arrow type not just the added water dmg.
Own up to your comments with proof.
We are all waiting.
I do an average of 34 on Uraeus with Red Coral. About 56 on Dodore with Silver Arrows. Gob and Buff I don't remember. I use a Crab Bow +1 with like only 100 STR. Attributes seem to not make much of a difference past low hundreds for normal attacks, which is why SE is simplifying the algorithms to make them more useful.
EDIT: Oh and I use ACC food if I decide to use food.
50 on uraeus
50 on gob
50 on buffalo
50 on dodore
Look at me I can put random numbers down. Claim your prize.
Post formulas and or screenshots or gtfo. You've already got one person saying diffrently right below you and no one else supporting your claim.

Now that I watched my fight against Dodore it seems I fluctuated between low 40's and low 60's.
Note: STR:99 VIT:174(don't ask lol) DEX:100 (all attributes without gear) Crab Bow +1 Silver Arrow
If anything I think STR atm just stabilizes the amount of damage you do mostly on NM's because last time doing Dodore with about 174 STR with gear I was getting mid 50's low 60's.
I'll get some pics/vids when servers are up bc I know my LS will be doing buffalo and dodore.
alrightyyyyyy, I'll probably be putting up a Buffalo video though because I realized I get bored a lot a couple of weeks ago and should just throw together videos of XIV lol
I was getting 60 without crit as well and up to 80 with crit.
There's definitely no damage cap per shot that you're currently hitting. I'm not sure there's a damage cap at all on any mob, in fact. There was in 11... It was obvious there. You could go hit a level 1 bunny at level 75 and you'd hit it for the same damage you'd hit a level 20 mob for because of fSTR, attack caps, etc.... But on FFXIV if you go shoot a R1 Marmot, you'll do like 3k+ damage. If you hit a r30, it will do around 1k... And continue to drop the higher the rank of the mob, meaning the cap is either nonexistent, or well above 3,000.
(We know the damage cap is 9,999 currently, from raged NM's)
Now, you're surely going to say "but it's an NM! It's not a marmot!" And that really doesn't matter. If it did, then you wouldn't hit the faction buffalo for more than you hit the Great Buffalo for, because they're both NM's. There is no cap, it's just that NM's have much higher stats than normal mobs, so their vit and def compared to your str and atk are much, much greater. It'd take a huge stat increase to go up slightly in damage because the gap is so large.
To be honest I don't think you guys should bother arguing about a damage cap, everything is probably going to change once they redo the attribute algorithms.
@Phrozen idk, I've seen 80+ crits, but never over 90 I don't think unless it was with a buff.

Care to backpeddle some more?
Or is the argument now that there is a cap on crits?
You are. You say theres a cap you list some numbers. Those are debunked. Now buffs don't count. You ask about a crit cap then you claim you can break a crit cap with a buff.
That would be backpeddling.
Just admit your wrong about there being a cap and if there is you can't hit it especially just using the wrong arrows that you also claim don't matter.
I think Phrozen meant a cap in reference to any current gear/attribute combination or at least a range that can't be surpassed without a buff ability of some sort. This really isn't a cap if you want to be specific though. (I'm just trying to understand everyone's view here.)
No it's not and it's not true. Better arrow will consistently do more damage on NM.
Stats on the other hand, doesn't seem to affect it much.
That is true that arrows do more damage based on affinity, but I think at the moment it is barely noticable or very minimal because STR is not doing what it is supposed to. If STR is supposed to be anything like in XI it will increase the amount of damage you will do per hit for the given attack. In other words it will raise your cap give or take some damage and the attack will fill it in.
Right now because STR doesn't do much, if anything at all, there is a small range where the damage seems to hover around and not really go much over unless there is an ability buff. Though it does look like different arrows give a more consistently higher damage per hit, while the others are more inconsistent. So in some sense everyone here seems to be right.
Wow. This whole argument is utter fail. >_<
