Customer Service should be able to handle user errors and get them corrected. People aren't and never will be infallible. If it is not straight forward to correct a licensing assignment like this then there is a major problem with Sony's and/or SE's tools or products. This does not mean that the customer shouldn't have to provide proof that they have the rights to use the product and that all hardware and accounts are owned by them but realistically all this is is an entry in a database. A few lines of SQL generated by a customer service screen and the deed should be done.
Creating another account for the kid won't work as you will put the kid's game into the same situation as the OP wants to fix with FF XIV.
yeah its going to be a pain SE is notorious for really crappy customer service for issues of this sort XD I mean once you get a hold of a person its easier to do but holy f\pluck do they almost seem to hide from their customers XD One time i had an issue with a token and took me like 4 hours to get in touch with em online and like 10 mins after that to actually resolve the issue XD
To put it bluntly, that's a load of crap. TVs are capable of many resolutions and you can limit your FPS to 30/60. Far as I know, burn-in is from the old CRT era (hence screensavers) and not really relevant.
This is akin to running a game at 60fps on a 30fps monitor. All you'll see is 30fps go to waste.
Ok, that's really good to know! That might save me monitor money in the future!
Wow, all those "OP, it's your fault, eat it"...
I guess they'll be totally fine when they accidently throw away the wrong item in the game, and that SE will reply "Sorry, we don't want to provide the item restoration service to you...after all, it's your fault..."
Apparently, PSN has a refund system. You could try to use it if you only bought the game very recently, then buy it again on the right account.
So, when the game popped up and told you that it will be permanently linked to that PSN account, you didn't go double or triple check that you couldn't have possibly have made a mistake before accepting the terms?

Note they will only ever do either of the above once. If you've used that one-time-only-save-me, you'll have to suck it up and be more careful in the future.
Actually I would be cause I'm sure I've at it some point and the past and moved on from it. Oh how about when I screw up a craft and lose all my mats, yup done that before should people also be allowed to go to SE be "welp I screwed up can I have my mats back". As other have also stated the multiple prompts telling user to check that they using the right account. Also as a PS4 setting by itself you can tell the system not to auto login on start up which would also stop this "oops I'm on the wrong account" situation.
It's happened before, I'm sure it will happen again. I'm not the type of moron to make a mistake and then demand someone else fix it. At worst it's grinding more tomes/runs... I mean gear isn't hard to get in this game. We're not talking about a game with .00000005% drop rates like XI or EQ in the days of yore. If you drop a piece of gear because you're dumb and click through the "are you sure you want to delete this item" box without taking a second glance, it is again YOUR fault and you deserve to be without the item as a result of your carelessness. Stop enabling stupidity.
Check me in the box of "yep I'm fine with it". Keep going with the unrelated hypotheticals though, your straw man is looking fantastic!
Even though I hope this gets resolved for her and it gets transferred to the right account, I would be totally OK with what you just said. In fact, I'd be perfectly fine with SE banning you for 100 years for having the cheek to ask that. It's in-game items that can be obtained in-game. So suck it up buttercup. As for this, this involves real money so I'd say is somewhat different.
