Lol, yeah I'm sure that's what the playerbase thinks is reasonable.

In reality reasonable is what provides most revenue. 50% of normal price means they need to have double the customers than if they charged fully. Sounds far-fetched to happen at best.

if you enjoy the game at 1.20 sub ,otherwise don't
it is not like 2.0 depends on your charity

Yeah, but at least i am throwing out factual information than leaving him blind. They may be discussing these "reasonable" prices even, and may just decide to charge 9 or 10 instead. Though, i am sure a discount means < Initial Price.

Its not just us that think this, many people here are going off of the idea that this game is 50% done (when the reality of it is that after 1.20 it should be at satisfactory level) so they should charge 50% less.

Though, I believe they are going to push out 1.20 and see what the reactions are, and then base it off of how many are willing to pay a bit more than 50%

what guys? i would rather pay full now too, but if they insist of giving to me a discount i do not mind either, but there is a common sense that there is no game that give content like this is a F2P forever.

I never said it needed to be f2p. I just have no hope of completing the content available before it goes offline - which I do not want to pay for SINCE I WANT TO FINISH TO STORY I STARTED

its not a year.. think last patch of 1.xx to 2.0 how much time does that give us?

Mushy, your THM is 50, i am sure you can finish whatever content there is by the time the monthly fee starts even.

Do you want the game to remain free until you think the game is "good enough"? or You would pay if let's say 2.0 came with the fee?

Well... I think people in this thread are being a bit too jumpy and not really reading what the OP is saying.
It is a fact... the content that is building towards the new world is really just to keep people entertained (and paying) until they can finish the "miracle patch"
Yes it's cool to say "content only available to people on Eorzea now" when in fact it is really just a band-aid which will be ripped off when 2.0 comes out and tossed to the bin.

My personal opinnion to this is... Yes, it's a bit obvious that the game was crap and now they are doing everything they can to keep people happy while they fix the game to what it should have been at the launch. They can't give us a new game right now because they need to create it, but at the same time they need to do something (anything) to keep people who own the game happy (i.e. the content leading up to the new world).
They can't keep the old content because it doesn't go with the new game... so... it's a bit of a chicken and egg situation.

I have accepted it that FFXIV is a different game from what it will be in a year.
It's like movies... there are sequals to a movie and then sometimes there is a "sequal" which in fact is a story about things that happened before the 1st movie.

BUT yes, I can see that many other people don't see it like me and I can see why they would think that the current storyline was nothing. Yes.. it is just a quick fix to keep people happy while they create the "real game" but I choose to like it.

And to the people who just go "STFU this is stupid, GTFO" - Seriously, can't anyone ever say their negative opinnions in these forums without being called a troll? Get your head off the cloud and maybe read a book or two... jeez

I don't mind paying for the band-aid content, but I can see that some people do, therefore I stand to my statement, I don't think any of his posts were trolling.
I for a while contemplated whether I wanted to pay for the obvious blidfold that is put on our eyes before 2.0 comes out, but since I have nothing better to do (and the love for FFXIV games) I will pay for it... at least for a bit.
However I do agree with some of the things the OP is saying - most of the content WILL BE GONE, it's there just to keep us busy while they fix the real thing. I might be missing some point here though... I can't be asked to read all again... Lol

You cant really treat 2.0 as just a patch. Its pretty much an entire remake of the game. The game will relaunch along with PS3 release. But if you have to treat as a patch... then I guess yea, you can call it a miracle patch. :)
