Stormblood trailer

I would like to say, there's a distinct lack of breast physics in the trailer. I know it's just a trailer, especially a teaser; but if everything else is going to have physics I don't see the point of only having one part on the body not have physics applied. Even if it's in a very small way, subtle, barely noticeable if that. It just doesn't look realistic. (Realism in a fantasy game, I know. Sue me)

All in all though I think it's a fantastic teaser and can't wait for the real trailer :)

Would've preferred a Dancer reveal in actual gameplay than a trailer. We don't know what moves they have so any fighting a Dancer does in the trailer it just looks flashy. I was waiting to see what story elements would be revealed. This trailer is a little superficial :(.

Well, the thing is titled as a "Teaser Trailer", we might get another Trailer for the expansion down the line... One that shows more stuff regarding the actual expansion.

The thing said Early Summer 2017, with 3.5 closing in that is a really long time away. What content will be released between 3.5 and the expansion? I don't think 3.5 will have the amount of content to sustain the game to the expansion if it's like the previous content patches.

Don't forget that 2.5 came in January, 2.55 in March, and 3.0 in June.

2.55 didn't have much content though did it, I don't remember. Just from the forums people have been putting money on just to clear the content and then letting their subs lapse. Will those people return for Stormblood?

There are 3 - 3 1/2 months between patches, and they'll probably split 3.5 in two, like they did to 2.5. So:
3.4 - Late Sep
3.5 - Early Jan
3.55 - Early Mar
4.0 - June

Are we human, or are we Dancer?

Dont get me wrong, I want new classes, but if that's dancer...ew. Dancer should have the moves sure...but not monk moves.
We have enough issues with identity in classes, having two empty hand or hand weapon fighters would be silly

If they kept BRD as a DPS support and tried to work that into the class more then DNC might have been DPS support too :p. DNC makes sense to buff the party with dances, Songstress in X-2 was just a buff class.

Derplander fantasia into Highlander (And look at those muscle...)? :o

The trailer teases the thought, but it confirms nothing. I still want P'molminn to reappear as a Dancer trainer, and as much as I want a Dancer class, I agree this trailer is NOT confirmation, it's showcasing Monk, the star job of the new expansion.

That doesn't 100% confirm anything though. It's possible the trailer is showcasing 2 different styles of fighting that Monks will utilize in 4.0. It's possible it is Dancer, but instead of having Dancer be it's own job, SE had a crazy idea of utilizing the old class system and mold Dancer to be a 2nd off-shoot of Pugilist. We don't know, but truth be told, until someone who works on the game says "Oh by the way, X will be in the game" or we see a video showcasing the new jobs (which we will at some point as they did for 3.0), we simply can't jump to any conclusion based off perceptions because there's mental bias of what we want to see versus what is actually being shown.

Remember, they don't show new jobs in the cinematics. They didn't even show SMN/SCH/MNK in the ARR cinematic.

And those two were using the same fighting style. They're monks. Ala Mhigo is renowned for their monks. Much like Ishgard was renowned for their Dragoons.

Eh, I don't want to sound like a complete downer, but non of the information nor the trailer (at least that I've heard so far) has me hyped in the slightest, this could have been 2 people fighting anywhere, in any setting if it wasn't for the title and the mark of the twelve on the statue's forehead.

Don't get me wrong, I thought the trailer was cool. Just, it did nothing to get me excited. :( Hope more info comes soon, so I can hop on the hype train.

I'm in the same boat, it looked amazing! But if it weren't for the chocobo, I wouldn't have said oh hey FF expac xD it is just a teaser though, so I'm looking forward with ya.

The fighting was so overblown it was uninteresting, but the environment was pretty and it got the setting for the expansion across. I say it was okay as far as teaser trailers go.

The second I saw that on the paid stream I started shaking and was like OMG DANCER OMG OMG OMG lol

I hope we get dancer XD

but you got to admit that new Monk Job theme gear set looks great. It has a feeling when you look at it that the Warrior of Light based it on his original Warrior Armor then adjusted it to be more suitable for the quick reflexes combat of a Monk.

I am still curious what the other Job theme gear set will be in 4.0 since the trailer only shows the Monk Gear set due to Ala Mhigo being the homeland of the Monks.

Trailer sucks, only because we all know we won't get to fight like that.

Sorry to be a downer, but I think the lady in the teaser trailer was just a female WoL. Gotta be fair, y'know? :P

I loved that teaser, and I can't wait until the full trailer releases.

Already confirmed that we will find out more about her in the patche(s) leading up to 4.0, actually, so we know she's her own character and not just a female version of the WoL for the trailer.

To be honest, my hype was 30% just the assumption that SE'd try to actually make interesting characters out of each of the figures on the new logo.

I liked it. Pretty much a teaser to make ya think and fire up the speculation train

My only problem with the trailer is derplander used fist of fire and had a blue aura, then she used fist of wind and had a red aura.

Guessing she is Yda's twin sister and head of Ala mhigo resistance and royalty. Yda was probably distanced when she was young for being the second born twin and it makes sense why she covers her face as she would be targeted by the Garleans otherwise.

We're sure the monk is monk yea? May sound weird but at the start of the HW thing, the WoL came out as WAR and then changed to DRG at the end.

Actually (>.<) in 1.0 Derplander was originally an Archer. (see signature) Then he became a War -> DRG -> Mnk.

Not quite, he actually started out as a GLA in the 1.0 opening movie when he first appeared sitting in the Adventurer's Guild with the miqo'te girl (who became the BRD, the one who agrees readily that she'd sell her mother and father if "the coin was good") and the elezen guy who later (out of scene) left his party. At the very end of the scene when he walks out of the Drowning Wench you can clearly see a sword hanging off his backpack - he only turned into an ARC during the Echo scene to ten years previously ;).

But yeah, he's very versatile - one could think of it as a way of showing prospective players that you can be any class you wish whenever you wish by equipping a weapon or tool (ala the Armoury System). Given the fact Derplander and his party are meant to represent the player, this makes sense. ;)

Speculating that it's not Yda because of a missing tattoo is missing the fact that this is a part of something unfinished, and the tattoo could have been left out on purpose...
Could of course be a twin sister or similar, but... just leaving possibilities open.

I do liked the teaser trailer for the beautiful environment and some of the fighting scenes but if it was not for the chocobo at the end I would have never linked it to FF14. On one side the new look for derplander looks great and sexy, on the other side he also looks nothing like is old CGI model. I only understood that it was him after I read some threads on reddit. I am kinda curious if his appearance will also change in the ingame trailers or if he is still looking like always. This would make the gap between CGI and ingame trailer quite big. I just love him for his derpy looks he has in those trailers, so I hope that they will at least have a comeback in the real trailer.

I also first though that this might be Yda and a lot of people think so too. Either SE really loves to show the obvious or they did it on purpose and let us believe that she is Yda. Right now I hope that she is a new character, since other than maybe looks she does not portray her that good. And in 1.0 she had quite the short hair, so either she had it grown out in all those years or its not her. Her fighting style also was never shown in that way, but maybe she changed between 3.0 and 4.0. Still kinda hope that its someone else.
