As is Savage. In fact, judging by the participation I'd not be surprised if more people considered Savage optional than certain outfits *cough*

Exactly.
Eh. I don't really find the dress pretty and it's so expensive. I'm not going to buy it. Also, these xp boost in it, huh, hello level potions soon.
By the way, just because people find the dress pretty and wanted it doesn't mean that they should accept any possible price for it. Just because we got the dress doesn't mean that we should be cool about all the rest. After all this isn't a favor, SE is getting money from these outfits. One can be happy that the outfit is here and equally unhappy about the price.
*nods*
I strongly desire an end to region exclusives, but that's the principle of the matter.
If an item is released to a region for a period of time...THEN released to the others, then I find it acceptable.
However the price of these are just a little too high. $10 for the outfit is more agreeable and would have likely swayed my purchase, but I simply don't desire it that much. However that is subjective as I would have paid the $19 for the Maid set (Lets not even talk about the ''promotion''). Of course it has more pieces so that is a factor as well.
while i'm not happy about it not being account wide, i bought it for both my characters. more upset that all these level boosting options are appearing AFTER people have already maxed out what jobs they wanted to level in the first place.
Seems reasonable price to me. Gonna buy once payday comes around I think.
Cash shops in a subscription game are a joke. I don't care if it is 'only glamour' I'd rather be able to get it as a rare drop from Aquapolis (for example).
Getting tired of the old longcoat/tenchcoat (re)designs they put in the game as a consolation prize.
Bet half the server is wearing the stupid thing when I log in later.
At least we have a /facepalm emote now...
I do agree with you, in fact. I'm just pointing out that the comunity of this game is way too eager to say "PUT IT ON MOG STATION" before asking for anything else when it comes to those items. We are already paying a monthly subscription on top of "optional" extra inventory space through retainers. As long as there's people willing to pay for stuff no matter how much it costs it'll still keep happening. As much as I think region locked content is pretty dumb and should be the same for all regions, those outfits were not meant to even be on the NA/EU/JP client.
Sorry if I came out as rude but if it there wasn't demand and a fair amount of people buying it at $18 SE wouldn't even consider putting those outfits at this price in the first place. I'm sorry to say but in this scenario you're the minority, with myself included.
I only wish it was account bound. But oh well, I got the outfit, the emote and the barding, and I'm happy with my purchase. :)
How can 18$ be a reasonable price for a digital item ? oO I don't know about how americans manage there money so maybe for them 18$ is the price of, i don't know, a pack of pasta ? but here, 13.50€....you can eat for a couple of days with that oO
Sadly it will continue to grow considering the amount of player that beggs SE to had things in this instead of in game, i d'ont get why people pay a sub if it's to have everything without playing it oO
So, I've had a look at the Calamity Salvager. Make sure you buy it for the right gender, because there's no way to convert them between genders!
People demand it to come to MogShop, and they do.
Then complain about price.
SE/Devs are damned if they do, and damned if they dont.
I would giggle if they just removed the dress and such from Mogshop and said Sorry it will remain China exclusive, you will get something different ;)

@Altera, surprising to see such a dev defense. Honestly, this being on the Mog station at all is outrageous enough for me to consider unsubbing. I don't even want the dress, but it's just ridiculous given everything Yoshi has said about development time for things.
Granted, I will likely not unsub, due to long lasting friendships in the game that I do not want to lose.
I feel like I shouldn't have to pick an internet dress over a meal at red lobster....
(but f**k it the thing is too cute and my will is weak)
It's extraneous content. You already get a game and shit to do with your sub. Items like the dress in no way affect your gaming experience, besides adding another glamour to your wardrobe. That's why it's extra.
Inb4 "well the content we get for our sub is already lackluster!" Cool opinion bro. Go play something else then.
That would not be my response. My response is that a subscription should include everyything with it. I feel this is a shady business practice that I personally would not want to support - hence me removing my sub. For the actual content, I care little - it's principle of business practice.
That said, I care more for my lasting friendships with my friends in-game than I do about SE's shady business practices, or my $15 per month.
Okay, so would you rather pay a lower price per month for 95% of the content plus picking and choosing what you spend extra on every month for CS items that don't have any sort of tangible impact on your gaming experience, or a higher price per month for 100% of the content that you may or may not want/need? One way, you're only paying extra for what you want. The other, you're paying for everything you want, plus things you may not care about but Joe Blow over on Mateus is just dying to have.
My question is: Is it per character or Account wide?
Exactly. Everyone get so hyped about stuff and starts yelling at SE to put it on MogStation as a first option no matter the price. The first option should always be asking for it to be implemented ingame for free, because that's why we're paying subs for.
But like other people here said, first everyone freaks out because it's not on MogStation, then everyone freaks out because it is at the MogStation. Honestly I bet it would be the same reaction even if the outfits were $10.
My question is... can it be dyed? The shiny coat it has is ugly.. sorry...
What we all want to know though, of course, is... will it blend?

The point in going with a subscription game rather than a F2P game is that it is ALL included. And yes, we do want to pay a higher per month cost rather than piecemeal costs. That's part of why we're on a game that already has us doing exactly that, paying $15 a month rather than the $0 that so many other games charge. That's an extra $15 every month for the sake of not having extras cost extra. If extras still cost extra anyway like they do in F2P games, then we're paying $15 a month for nothing.
It isn't actually included. Did you read your User Agreement?
"4.1 FINAL FANTASY XIV Subscription Fees. In order to access SQUARE ENIX's servers to play the Game, you must agree to a recurring subscription ("Subscription") with a minimum subscription term of 30 days, and pay a recurring subscription fee ("FFXIV Subscription Fee"). Square Enix may offer different subscription plans in its sole discretion. Further, Square Enix may offer you the chance to purchase additional features for your FFXIV Service Account, which we call "Add-ons" or "Options." Add-ons may be subject to either additional recurring fees or one-time fees. "
You certainly have an interesting perspective, but I definitely agree with Niwashi.
As an aside, the term cheap is relative, and relative to its competitors FFXIV is the most expensive cost (tied with wow with an option for 12.99 vs wow option to pay with gold). How are you coming to the conclusion that it's cheap, when it is literally the most expensive?
I think SE should just remove it from the game with the reasoning "Some forum members have expressed unhappiness that they had to pay for this item so to prevent hurt feelings, we're removing it from the game".
I'd pay to watch the fallout from that.
Wow people will find anything to cry about. If you don't like it, DON'T BUY IT, if you think it's expensive then DON'T BUY IT. No one is putting a gun to your head and telling you to spend your hard earn cash on it.
Because for $15 you get a pretty impressive array of content, at a fairly reasonable rate of time (patches are what, a couple months apart?) Compare that to your "cheap" option of paying WoW gold for your sub, which, for a year+ prior to Legion's release, got you fuck all for content, so... yeah, that's kind of a wash.
Obviously that's subjective, and I'm sure there's plenty of people who would disagree that the content offered in FFXIV is "impressive" but hey, can't please everyone all the time.
Wow people will find anything to cry about. If you don't like what other people are posting, don't read it! No one is putting a gun to your head and telling you to spend your time reading it.
That aside, people are providing feedback. Chill
I think objectively, WoD and Heavensward put out very similar amounts of content. Most of Warlords content was front loaded. WoD had way more raid bosses, for example.
$15 is a decent price tag, and one I do not mind paying for both games. That said, that subscription is paid with the expectation that all content is included. There are plenty of other B2P and F2P games with lots of content that are free monthly. (http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm)
18.00 USD isn't terrible considering it's a cosmetic and optional item; I bought one because it fit within my "I buy stupid stuff in video games" budget.

At one point there were many on the forums that asked for items and said they would pay for them, thus the cash shop model was introduced to FFXIV. Some here continued to say they would pay for items if SE would release them, and so more items were added. While it was not every person who plays (obviously), people got what they asked for. They continue to get what they ask for, if they are willing to pay as some say they are. This is not a new concept and SE/FFXIV are not the only P2P game that does it. On WoW 10$ for a pet, $25 for a mount, 15$ just for a glamour head piece.
If it didn't work then the game industry wouldn't do it. It works, so they do. If I find interest in it and I feel it's worth the money (and I have it) I'll buy it. If I don't think it's worth what they are asking then I don't and just let it go.
What the....its character based? Are you freaking kidding me? People threw their toys from the pram over the cost of the twin seat moogle, but that was account wide at least. For $18 for a fingle outfit, account wide should be an absolute. If it were character only I'd have expected $10 or less for the outfit.
I mean granted, I play my alts a tiny fraction of the time I play Kos, but still, for $18 it damn well should be account wide.
