my last 3 recruits where all lalas :eek:
Who doesn't want these types in their Squadz... I don't get it?
Seems a lot better than guys in the same ol' battle gear. You can have your own personal goof troop.
I didnt even know about gag members! I want one! >.<
I wonder if we are going to be able to glamour the gear of our squadrons on the future
I did many challenge log of gold saucer and I still can't find that naked roe named Raging Ox, sad :(
I have a question, can you train the members of your squadron separately?
Is there any point beyond XP for the training? How do you train your squads?
You train Strength and it lowers Mental and Tactical.
You train Mental and it lowers Strength and Tactical.
You train Tactical and it lowers Strength and Mental.
After completing a set of 3. Your stats are basically neutral.
At this point I am beginning to think I should just use the no stat bonus option (bottom left) and just take the XP only.
At first the limit is 200/200, as you get higher this will increase, thus you can train them better. I'm not sure if setting say Health and strength higher has an impact on stat increases as the character lvls up yet. Have to test that out at some point haha.
Anyway, my first recruit was a Miqoute female that had the message "I want to serve under someone that knows how to balance time and plays with me" I have to admit.. I had to blink twice for that sentence haha.
I just got him right now from entering into three chocobo races. Now if all of my recruits could look like him, I'd be a happy lieutenant. I am having trouble kicking people out, though. As soon as they walk through the door I feel already attached and responsible for them. I don't want them to be sad, I don't want to ruin dreams!
*takes this squadron business way too seriously*
No.
From what I've gathered trying the system...
You have a pool of points, this is what changes with the various trainings, and all your recruits have their stats.
When you do a mission, the stats of the recruits you send are added to the pool of points to determine how the mission goes.
You can adjust those pool points to shift around your focus, and perhaps make up for a weakness in your squadron...
Perhaps you've had horrile luck and only have the base tank character and need more physical stats for the missino you want to do.
You can train up the pool points to be focused on physical, and thus meet the mission requirements even though your recruits are lacking in that stat.
Well, the first two times, I got actual increases. Starting the third time, it began that pattern of just shifting the points around rather than adding any. Unfortunately, it doesn't take into consideration whether the recruits I'm training were even in the squad yet during those first two training sessions, so now my newer ones can't get any stat boosts. :(
And still no clue as to how to reset it so I can get another chance at useful training.
Or, or, at training you sacrifice 2 stats and boost 1 to max and then train that 2 stats until it equal each other.
You can do a Training and Mission at the same time. When 4 of your members are on a mission, the remaining 4 can train. They will gain experience and so forth.
Still trying to figure out if training means they will get a Stat boost to a particular stat each time they level up though.
I've found that it's important to properly adjust their physical, mental, and tactical abilities before most missions. Some missions require far more of one stat than your squads personal stats combined, so there's a fair bit of toying with the system to get an ideal group. I honestly like that as it makes the entire system much more interesting than our current retainer ventures. It actually feels like you're preparing and leading the group rather than saying "Bring me back something nice!...or a fish is fine, too."
Really, this needs an actual report of what happened during missions. And I want to actually talk to my recruits, they should have different personalities and so on.
How can I care for them if I can't even get to know them?
Training your squad don't increase the unit's stats individually. It's a global bonus you get for your missions.
For example, my "Training stats" are currently like this: Strenght(60) Mental(60) Tactical(80). So, if go in the mission menu and remove every unit, the current stats I have are 60/60/80, even if nobody is selected for that mission.
So, if you want to do the Lv15 mission, which requires a lot of Mental, and you cannot reach that amount with your current units, just change your "Training stats" around to have more Mental.
Training stats are a way to compensate for a lack of one particular stats, or an overall lack of stats. Since you can train 3 times per day, you should train for the mission you want to complete.
My Training stats (60/60/80) are pretty much useless for me right now if I want to do some missions. At first, having balanced stats seemed a good idea, but I realized that there's no point. Training stats should always be allocated to be able to make up for a lack of stats regarding the requirements for the daily mission you'll aim for.
Yes, they can get XP, but that's all they can get. Only the first four members (the ones I had back when I did the first two training sessions) were able to get any stat boosts. Now, even if those four are out on a mission, so its only my newer members doing training (the ones who did NOT get any stat boosts before because they hadn't been recruited yet at the time), the training no longer allows any stat boosts. They can do the XP-only training so they don't fall as far behind in levels compared to the ones out on a mission, but their stats are stuck at their brand-new untrained values.
I'd just like for my newer recruits to get the same benefits from training that were available to my first ones.
You're misunderstanding the training. The training is your whole squad's stats as a team, not a boost to individual stats.
Your stats are:
Individual squad stats added together + training (group) stats.
The purpose of training is to adjust your stats for a particular mission.
If you don't need to adjust your stats, you can do the balanced training, which doesn't adjust your stats and gives an extra 1000 exp.
When you change the stat allocation, they will apply to those doing the training. I also believe they get applied to the 4 members out on a mission when they return home from it. It is as Momomi says, not a boost to individual stats, but team wide.
True, but that is kind of obvious aint it? I mean it is a squadron after all, so obviously they train together.
Yes, I know they can train for XP. The point there was that you can't specify that it be *only* the ones who are behind in levels who train. It's a blanket everyone who's not currently away, regardless of what their levels are. So, if (like me) you have one character who is a couple levels behind everyone else, he can stay behind to train, but the others who are also left at the barracks will get the same experience, and so stay just as far ahead of him. There doesn't (so far) seem to be any way to even out your squad members' experience levels.
Any one do the lvl 20 rank up mission yet?
I'm really not sure what you are trying to say here.
A mission requires 4 NPC characters to take place. You can't send less, you can't send more.
A squadron can at most have 8 members, so 4 members stay behind.
So training will be for the 4 left behind.(experience wise)
Yes that would be true, as you can't individually train them. However, they do have a level cap, so eventually they will all even out.
Yeah it took me a fair bit to realize to 200 is just bonus stat points that you can shift around and that leveling is the real stat growth, albeit slower. Gotta get them tactically trained before a rela deployment after all!
I have the mission, but the commander guy says "Honestly, the squadron isn't ready for this yet".
So most of my members are now 22, and I'm either waiting for levels to get me to the stats I need for it, or getting a new recruit to replace one of my 2 lancers. I've already used all my daily trainings, so maybe I'll start the special mission tomorrow.
Im asking again because i need to get her yesterday:
What is her comment? So i know which challenge logs i need to farm to get her.
PS: I'll extend my question to all the people who have obtained Femroes recruits, please tell me from what type of content yours was from. I want to make a full Femroe squadron.
