Unless the pet will cast raise on me then no. Did not like the implementation in XI. It is also not really part of the lore of Dragoon. Can always use the Midgardsomr companion, that brings back XI nostalga.
Dragoon is my main DPS class, but if they implemented a pet like from XI, I would drop it like a rock. I can't stand pet using classes, they're either horribly boring or a nightmare of micromanaging to me.
As to a chocobo reskin, I don't see much point. It's fine as a bird, far as I'm concerned.
The shift in playstyle would be too great to safely do it, would divide and unnecessarily make so many dragoons unhappy (as you'd HAVE to nerf the player themselves to balance the new dps, and if its pointless then its pointless lol).
What if it was a mount reward for leveling/playing Dragoon? I'd like to see more job specific mounts :)
Well i think more jobs than smn should be able to have pets. Sch has one, yes same class but different job. What if they do beastmaster? As far as nerfing drg to balance the pet, that completely depends on how much dmg the pet does...half would mean the pet is equal dmg as the drg lol. That would be dumb, i would think like 10-15% dmg from pet. Just say an extra auto atk and sum type of breath atk when you dragonfire dive for example. With new abils and lvl increase from 4.0, all dps will have increase dps, the pet could be the drg upgrade. Yoshi p just plays it down i think, cus asfar as lore and story, it would make perfect sense. I think sum ppl just dont want drg to have a pet, and thats fine. I just loved having one, and would be cool imo.
I think a nice compromise would be to make your attacks look more dragon-oriented.
Changing Dragoon into a pet-class this late into the game would be way too large of a paradigm shift.
Ignore me. I didn't realize the necroness of this thread.
